At El Matador, people love the expansive beach for long walks, sunbathing and plenty of swimming. Beach service is available with lounge chairs and umbrellas awaiting on the sands. In addition to the beautiful Gulf beaches, there are two swimming pools (one heated), tennis courts and basketball courts, all within the gated and monitored community.

My unit is on the fifth floor with a beautiful view of the ocean/beach from the balcony. There are many amenities within the complex such as game room, sauna, and picnic tables near the BBQ and at the pools. There are pristine beaches for 17 miles to the west - plenty of room for everyone. But.... we're only minutes away from recreational beach activities like parasailing, wave runners, deep sea fishing, shopping and marine life park.

The unit is beautifully decorated with bright beachy colors. There is sleeping room for 4. From the balcony one can view the ocean and from the front of the unit one can view the undeveloped white pristine sands which goes on for miles. The sound with its boating traffic may be seen from the front of the unit. The unit has internet and cable for your enjoyment. There are laundry facilities within the building.

Come and enjoy the beach at a complex that is beautifully landscaped and offers many amenities.

Wonderful family vacation!

The place was clean and cozy. It felt like a home away from home to us. Bed was comfortable, and rooms were all spacious. 18 month old daughter had an absolute blast!

Great place!

Great place with great views and right on the beach! The 2 pools were amazing too. We loved that there is a guard 24/7 to help watch things, made me feel safer. Loved being at the very end of the island too so nothing but beautiful white sands to the left to look at! Would definitely stay here again and the price is very good! Room is a little outdated but who spends a lot of time in their room at the beach anyway. Also the dryer stopped working and took my quarters but the guard gave my change back after I called the building manager. Other than that the trip and stay were excellent! 5/5

Property dated and needs a deep cleaning. Kitchen sink garbage disposal was backed up. Patio slider door would not lock.

The condo is overcrowded with furniture-everything in it is non beachy and old! The microwave is broken and does not turn, the disposal my husband fixed because it did not work. The living room sofa and chair had stains on it. The whole condo has electrical issues and some of the lights & fans don’t work. The bedroom vent above the door is held on with blue masking tape. The drawers and closets are filled with miscellaneous junk. The wire shelves are yellow and dirty. We would not stay here again. Beach & pool areas where very nice.

If anyone is going to be staying in the Fort Walton Beach area. I highly recommend this location for you, Very clean neat and great view of the ocean. Lots of updates done to this condo. Highly recommend to anyone staying in this area.

Disappointed.

Very frustrated. Do not stay unless you want charged for things that didn't occur. Our stay was for an extended weekend and thankfully we were barely in the room because very little was provided to us to make the most of our weekend. After our stay I received a damage claim that we caused a hole in the screen door which was a blatant lie. We were barely in the room. The ceiling fan in living room didn’t work, the bedroom fan was about to fall off the ceiling so it was unable to be used. Hair dryer broken. Door code wouldn’t lock and took multiple attempts each time. Bathroom was dirty. One single roll of toilet paper was provided and one trash bag (again, thankfully we weren’t in room much). I travel often and do not leave bad reviews on places but to receive a charge for something we didn’t charge afterwards is completely unacceptable to me.

The room was nice, but had not been fully cleaned prior to our arrival.

The property manager was fine, but the housekeeper had not thoroughly cleaned the room by check-in time. It would not have been so bad if there was not sand all over the bedsheets (not realizing it until I layed in the bed), which implied that the maid had not changed the sheets prior to our checking in. I was not at all happy about that, but they were changed the next day. I cannot fully blame the property manager for the maid not doing her job though.

Very clean condo with new kitchen and bathroom, freshly painted. Short walk to pristine beach. Enjoyed our 5 day stay ! Note, check in is based on central time!

Disappointed trip

We arrive after a 12 hr drive no communicTion from owner . No code to get in .once in the condo ,the room wasnt clean . Food all over the countets floor etc. Bath towels and bed linen in the middle of the floor.dirty!!!dirty dishes etc. Shower door broken only one side of shower had a glass door.owner said hadbeen broken for weeks. Came in on Wednesday to repair door took 3 hrs of our time . After getting in the shower i cut my foot on a piece of glass. So disappointing. The owner just said sorry my crew didnt clean i dont know what happened. The shower had been broken for a while. I dont know why you didnt get the keys i send you a welcome letter. So disappointing ! Never again.

This property was great, but they are still renovating. I would stay again if I knew they were finished. We aren't picky but there was a layer of dust from reno on everything. Bed needs replacing. Frame wasn't very steady. I'm sure it's being worked on. Easy access to beach.

Breathtaking views!

El Matador is a hidden gem. You are just steps away from the beautiful Emerald Coast. There is a military base to the right, so you have miles of beach with absolutely nothing manmade to walk, swim, shell hunt, and fish. From this condo, you have an amazing view from the balcony of the beach/ocean and from the front door, you can see the bay. My mom and I had a fantastic time and would love to stay in this condo again in the future.

Excellent in every way!

Was a great trip. The entire El Matador property is pristine and the condo was perfect! Absolutely beautiful view of the Gulf from the balcony. Very convenient to grocery and plenty of great restaurants! One little glitch with the internet but that was taken care of immediately.
