Gondola Lodge
Accommodations: The unit itself seemed to be a converted motel lobby and owner's quarters, which was an interesting setup. The unit had been updated, and the kitchen was nice and usable. That being said, the unit lacked some essential comforts. Heating was provided by gas fireplaces in each room (2 in the living room, the original one which was not in use and a gas fireplace located behind the couch), which added an interesting ambiance but was insufficient for the bathrooms, which had no heat whatsoever and remained chilly throughout our stay. The fireplaces were all thermostatically controlled, and I was a bit startled to be woken to a fire in the fireplace in the main bedroom in the middle of the night. Bedrooms: Primary bedroom was updated and nice. Second bedroom was quite small and had a murphy bed (as in the description) but it also had a treadmill on corner and some random items with limited walking space around the bed. Fortunately, my 2 teenage boys didn’t mind crawling on the bed to get in and out. Amenities: The pool table seemed like a nice touch, but it was placed in a room so small that it was difficult to play from more than one side, limiting its usability. The jacuzzi, while normally a welcome feature after a day of skiing, was outdated, in need of repair and the jets only worked in one corner, which was disappointing. The spa filler was a nozzle that extended out of a hole in an unfinished wall.
