Authentic Mountain Home

As advertised. This place is awesome with the sunrise and sunset views. All the beds were comfortable and the large living area was perfect for my wife and I along with our 4 young adult kids. The fully stocked kitchen accommodated well for our big morning breakfasts and dinners. The fire places were a nice touch to the mountain atmosphere. Would stay again, no doubt

Amazing Stay!

My wife and I, plus our 3 dogs stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute. For the dogs there is even a fenced yard that makes it easier and provides plenty of room for them to sniff around off leash. The views from the house are absolutely amazing. The fire pit at night is wonderful listening to the fire crackle and the crickets sing.

Retreat to the Mountains

Attention to details is incredible and super clean. Owner made us feel welcome in such a lovely home. We had campfires every evening enjoying the view of the mountains and lake. Ideal to visit Highlanda and Cashiers for hiking and waterfalls.

Family Thanksgiving

We stayed over Thanksgiving 2022. It was a wonderful time with both our families able to come up for the day and our kids able to come while they are still in school and not have the hassle of flying. We so enjoyed the peace and quiet and had fires every day outside. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Mountain Home - Pets Welcome!

My husband and I wanted a place to stay during WCU family weekend where our son could come see us and have a break from campus. This location did not disappoint! We brought our labradoodle and chihuahua and they had a blast and loved being able to roam along the patio and into the backyard. The host had s'mores for us humans and homemade treats for our dogs ❤️ Our son built a fire for 2 of the 3 nights and we enjoyed chasing waterfalls and views the entire weekend. The home is very eclectic and full of antiques that were so interesting - do not listen to the Kevin/Karens who have listed bad reviews. This is VRBO not the Ritz Carlton ! I’d stay here a thousand times over !

Comfort, location, view

We came from different directions for a birthday celebration. As soon as you walk through door you feel your in a home away from home. From the fully stocked kitchen to cozy bedrooms. We enjoyed fireplace, coffee and laughter every chilly morning. The decks and views outstanding. It was a birthday celebration to remember. Because of the thoughtful book with things to see and do we all went to see and do separate things. We would meet up for dinner and was pleasently surprised that everything we could possibly need was there. Plus kayaks for lake. The reason we picked this cabin was our pups could come and were welcomed. The fenced yard was great. We may make it an annual celebration. Thank you

Relaxing mountain holiday vacation!

What a wonderful property. The hosts were incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and easy to work with--from booking the property to making sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The property is incredibly well-maintained, cozy, and comfortable. The views and location are fantastic too. The photos are exactly what you can expect. We brought our dogs and they had a blast. There's a fenced-in side yard so they could play easily outside. They even had treats and water bowls for our doggos! The location is great. It was easy to go into Glenville or Cashiers for a meal or the grocery store. You can also drive to a number of different hikes within 5-30 minutes. We also drove to Sylva for a day trip--a quaint town not too far that was fun for local food and shopping. Again, a great experience from start to finish. It's a beautiful home and location, but the owners/hosts really made all the difference. Thank you!

Not Luxury by any means!

My family and I were really looking forward to this trip in the mountains. A chance to relax and have fun. It's very strange reviewing someone else's home but my trip was so disappointing, I feel future vacationers should at least know what to expect. The pillows and sheets are really poor quality, but even worse, I had to wash every sheet and pillow because they smelled of perfumes & body odors. The cabinets in bathroom, pantry, kitchen and utility area were all cluttered. It was evident that someone must live there. The sofa was tired so I covered with bed linens. The outdoor grounds were not kept up. The house is not on the lake so it was a long hike lugging the water sport gear down the road to the lake -and up hill was impossible even with wheels. The appliances in kitchen are very old. Pots and bowls are stacked and stuffed in cabinets. I took photos of various areas but I don't see a place to upload on this website.

Great views & well-equipped!

My family & I stayed here for a quick trip to the area. While my husband & I were quite comfortable in the king bed in the primary bedroom, neither of our young adult children were able to get good sleep on the very firm beds in the two secondary bedrooms. However, we made some adjustments for them and enjoyed our stay at Belle Viste and will keep it on our short list for next visit.

Amazing views, great layout, cozy

The front deck looks over lake Glenville complete with hammock & a great grill. The back view of a meadow & mountains/ rolling hills reminded us of pictures of the Tuscan countryside. There are beautiful potted plants around both porches that add an extra touch of pretty. The side yard was also beautiful & our dog loved getting to play Frisbee there, along with gorgeous walks down to the lake (for those that have mobility issues, it's fairly steep). The home was very clean, had everything we needed, & was tastefully decorated with beautiful art, carefully chosen items & a cozy vibe. Warm & welcoming, nothing was missed. The layout is fantastic for a family or 2 couples (which was us). The master is beautiful & features a large jetted soaking tub- lovely after horseback riding down the road. One car in our party had a little trouble with the driveway but mine did OK. You have to expect some different roads & driveways in these areas, esp to yield these kinds of views. Cell service was petty much zero but the internet worked great so we could still get work done. It was very quiet & peaceful, which was exactly what we'd hoped for. About a 15 minute drive into Cashiers & maybe 25-30 to Highlands, which we visited for lunch & supplies one day. Overall a perfect choice for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. The host, Pat, was absolutely wonderful. Very responsive & helpful, a joy to work with & reflects the welcoming feeling of the cabin.

A True Mountain Aerie

Located at the top of the mountain, this house offers beautiful views of sunrises, sunsets, the mountains and the lake. House is very spacious but has a cozy feel. My family had a great time and our two labs loved it. Our host Pat was a joy to work with.

Very comfortable and well stocked. Was a great bonus finding this place that allowed dogs. Our pups were happy to be with us and the property owners left some treat surprises. Easy check-in and check-out. AWESOME views in the morning AND evening (sunrise and sunset).

Lovely relaxing retreat

Wonderful stay.....hiking, kayaking on the lake, cooking our meals and eating with a beautiful view. We slept with windows open and awakened to the birds singing and the mist rising off the lake. We were treated with a firefly show in the meadow behind the house! Lovely fire circle with s'mores were delicious. Let me not forget our dogs.....they were welcomed with treats, beds, fenced yard, and adventures too!
