A small semi-detached house in a quiet, rural setting.
The house offers everything you need, is very clean and boasts a very powerful stove for the cold season. Kitchen and bathroom provide all essential comforts, bedrooms are big enough and comfy. The living room has a comfortable sofa and two armchairs. Perfect for two, okay for four if you are used to sharing space.
Even though there is a road with some traffic some 30m away, as the road is higher there is little to no noise.
In warmer weather you can lounge outside on some chairs and there is more seating arrangement, which we did not make use of in February.
The area (Hochschwarzwald) is pretty and well-suited for walks and little tours. One great asset is that you get a pass for public transport in the region (going beyond Freiburg) as part of the rental. The next shop is about 2 miles from the house, the nearest town about 6 miles.
The house is an older, simple house, so do not expect luxury or a modern layout, on the other hand everything is practical enough. Beware a bit of the thresholds which are raised enough to be a stumbling hazard. As there are steps into the property this place is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
You have a pretty view onto the valley as the house is at the very edge of the village.
The manager of the rental lives in the house next door and is very willing to help if required. They are also discreet, so you barely notice that this is a semi-detached house.
