My crew and I booked this house as we worked on one of the local Walmarts about 30 minutes away. The house is probably one of the coolest vrbos that I’ve stayed in. getting down to the house was exciting because of the steep driveway but I wouldn’t expect anything less. The house was comfortable. It smelled good and had everything we needed to cook meals and have the much needed rest that we needed after working all day will definitely stay next time We are in the area, Linda was great responding to everything.
This property is beautiful. I believe that we will be staying here in the future. Between the river and the hills there is a view that is worth the amount for the house.
We loved our visit at the Ohio home!! It was perfect for our family. We love the beauty of the Ohio River and the seclusion of the setting. Linda was great to work with. We were there for a 2 day stay for a horse show and it was perfect. The house was just beautiful!!
This place was just right for us! It was 40 mins from Point Pleasant WV, which is where we were going for the Mothman Festival. It was about 35 mins away from Athens, where we took an afternoon to visit my Alma Mater. The house is very cozy, with three separate bedrooms all equipped with full beds. The mattresses are saggy and in need of replacement, but other than that we were fine. We had a little hiccup with the hot tub controls, as it got stuck at 103 and wouldn’t let us adjust, so the kids didn’t get in. We loved the porch with the view of the Ohio River, and even saw some deer in the field next to the house. The kitchen is very well equipped so cooking at the house was easy peasy. The keurig was nice, and there were some coffee pods offered. If we would’ve stayed longer I think we might’ve used the grill. Overall it was a great stay!
Larger than it looks! Great outdoor space and loved watching the barges float by. Very peaceful and not a bad drive from Columbus. We explored Athens for a day and came back for a soak in the hot tub. Kitchen is nicely stocked with all the utensils and cookware. Great for adults and kids. Thank you for sharing your home!

Bug Infested!
This is a beautiful home. However, when we went into the house, there were over fifty live stink bugs in just the kitchen. We weren't able to stay. The home owner did refund all of our money EXCEPT the cleaning fee! That's right! We weren't able to stay because of the bugs, yet we had to pay the cleaning fee! WOW! Rent elsewhere.
We had a great stay. Very comfy and isolated. There was a road that went down to the river (we have 4 WD, but wouldn’t recommend trying it without). We were able to sit there and enjoy the nature in complete silence. The hot tub was amazing once it reached temperature. The whole house was clean (a different smell in it, but when it’s not frequently occupied it’s to be expected). All in all it was a 5* experience. My only complaint it that the hot tub was not useable on our first night because the temperature was set too low and not turned up early enough upon our arrival. This still doesn’t take away from the peacefulness and elegance the house has to offer. Thank you for the experience.

Disappointed
All 4 beds were unclean. Two of the four had stink bugs, live and dead ladybugs and a red chigger. Third bed had multiple hairs on pillow and fourth bed had blood? Stain onattress cover and was not clean. No clean sheets were available
Refrigerator freezer was dirty with food streaks. Garbage can had to food smears also. This was my 4th or 5th vrbo rental, and the only one that I complaines about. Lighting throughout was dim.
The property was well kept and the view over the river was beautiful, especially from the hot tub on the wrap around deck. A bit too cold for us to take advantage of river activities but relaxing nights in front of a fire were a good stand in. I would recommend dumping all the silverware and utensils and getting all new as they were not great. The beds were soft as other reviews have stated but sleep was not an issue although you do need to bring your own bedding. (There was an option for bedding at an extra cost but we did not go that route). The house was decently clean but I would not say professionally cleaned and many of the dishes/utensils were dirty and needed attention before use but nothing that was a major issue. We found a few stink bugs but if you live anywhere in the NE you know they are always around in the winter time no matter what and will always find a way in. I saw some reviews mention the groundskeeper as an issue but I spoke with him on the first day and he was nothing but pleasant and informative. Had no issues with him throughout the week. I would not hesitate to rent this property again as we enjoyed the peace, quiet and relaxation it offered.

Honest Review
I have hesitated to write this review, and honestly want to help future guests and the property owners. I love this house and its location. I think that the description on the VRBO site is deceiving, and needs to be updated. It states that this house is only 5 years old, and it is clearly older, and is getting to the point of needing some TLC. It also shows on the VRBO website that, it has 3 king beds in the description, and only after you drill down can you see that all the beds are doubles. In looking tonight at other reviews from several years ago, this has been brought to managements attention numerous times, but has not been corrected. We also agree with what others have said, that the current beds need to updated. There are several little things with the house that need to be taken care of, the dishwasher needs a couple screws added, to hold it in place. We did find dishes that needed washed before using them, as well.
I admit that I didn’t read the contract that clearly states that linens are not provided, we would not have stayed at the property knowing this was the case. I did appreciate the property managers quick response to my message, when I contacted her about towels. I hope that for future guests, that there would have at least been a separate email stating this, because it is not normal and renters would not expect it.

Host was late in answering questions an also late in getting the code to lock box
Property was very nice, but too far away from the property we were using. Parking was difficult and all the kitchen light bulbs were out !
The house had everything that we needed with great views. Linda was very prompt on answering questions.
The driveway is steep. We were on motorcycles so I would stand at the top and wave the others up. Worked out great! Awesome windy roads to ride on. We would definatly stay here again.

We purchased the property as a young couple in order to continue our tradition of living near the water as we both did as children. This property was close enough to our home that it was great for weekends trips.
Why they chose this property
We spend the day on the water and finish with a great dinner, a hot tub and a movie.
What makes this property unique
We love to BBQ on the deck and then go for a long boat ride.
