Renting with Vacasa is too much of a corporate, inflexible, experience for us.
The place was fine, but renting with Vacasa is not for us. They are a big, impersonal corporation and if you need to talk to someone you have to call a 1-800 number or text via SMS. You will speak with someone who has no idea what is going on with the property and is basically an answering service. They are trained to tell you that can't help you with your request and wish you a good day. I am not going to rent with Vacasa in the future. My experiences renting with a local owner allows us both flexibility.Example: We drove cross country from San Diego, Ca to Pensacola, Fl so my son could report for flight school at NAS Pensacola. 24 hours before we arrived, I knew we would get into town around 12:30 pm and check in time was not until 4 pm. My son needed a place to change so he could check in on base and get his orders stamped that day. So I contacted Vacasa both by SMS texting as well as a call and explained our situation and respectfully requested a favor. I was told they would text me if early check in was available. Well, of course I never got a text. We sat in the parking lot of the property for 2 hours because we would not enter a property early without permission. The place was absolutely available for early check in. It was already cleaned and vacant given the absence of anyone coming or going from the property. It would have been so easy to do our exhausted family a solid and let us unpack and get settled and get my son to base.
