Easy process getting in and getting comfortable. Close to food or groceries. Easy drive or bike to Ladd base for work. Great stay. Thanks for making it so easy. Would stay here again anytime I’m in Fairbanks.
Comfortable, clean, well stocked, tastefully decorated duplex/twin home in a quiet neighborhood; close to restaurants and stores. We would definitely choose to stay again!
Didn’t expect both bedrooms and bathroom are on the lower level. Dealing with stairs was a bit tiring.
Closeness to downtown and shops is good, but too much light pollution for aurora viewing. Wished the backyard was approachable.
Our spur of the moment trip to Alaska during Aurora season
My Husband and I enjoyed our week long stay. The house had everything we needed and was very conveniently located. Communication with the property manager was excellent. If we get the opportunity to visit during the summer we will be staying here again for sure and highly recommend to anyone else visiting Fairbanks and the area.
This place is even better than it looks. Pure perfection. Everything needed for the stay was there for us. It’s the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in, as well as safe and quiet. We slept like rocks despite the midnight sun.
If you use a lot of VRBOs, you may be surprised to get the property code at the last minute, but you will get it. The process is just a bit different.
We loved it so much that we are considering coming back in the fall/winter to see the Aurora. I would absolutely stay here again if it were available.
This duplex has a very well designed two bedroom rental. The beds are comfortable with a nice sized bathroom.
The kitchen layout and dining area are way above average. In addition the kitchen had very good quality cookware, dishes, knives and quite a few spices. All kinds of room for preparing whatever you want.
The location for us was ideal. We were Aurora chasing, so the convenience if easy access to a major road out of town really worked well.
This is a very nice and clean property with a great location for getting around Fairbanks. My only complaint is not getting the access code to get into the property until 45 min before we actually got on the plane to fly 3,363 miles to Fairbanks! I've stayed at many VRBO's and always had entry information 1-3 days before flying. Otherwise, a great stay!
The location was perfect for us as we were frequently driving back and forth to UAF to spend time with our son. The property was also perfect. Very clean and well decorated inside. We especially loved the individual climate controls in each bedroom and the main floor. We had Thanksgiving dinner with our son and his roommates and the cookware, plates, utensils, etc. were exactly what we needed. Both the dishwasher and laundry washer/dryer appeared newer and worked very well. Cooking a nice ham and Thanksgiving fixings can be nerve-wracking at a new place but the oven was spot on for temperature and size. The dining room table and counter were the main reasons we booked this property. Very comfortable couch and the bathroom amenities were perfect. We look forward to going back.
My husband and I spent 4 nights in Fairbanks in hopes of seeing the Aurora. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, as it rained the majority of the time we were there. But, this house was the perfect place to “weather” the storms. The layout is a little weird - you enter at ground level into a room with a bench to take off your shoes and hooks to hang coats and bags, then you can go down a flight of stairs to the two bedrooms, bathroom and washer/dryer, or you can go up a flight of stairs to the living room and kitchen- but we liked it. The kitchen was beautiful, well-stocked with pretty much everything you need - even sandwich bags and aluminum foil and spices. The beds are comfortable and the couch was amazing to snuggle up on with a book or to watch TV during a rainy day - even has a warm throw blanket to use. There is a very helpful welcome book on the kitchen island the owner put together with recommendations for activities and restaurants , how to use the heater and air conditioner, etc.
We did have an issue our last night where we went for a late walk and came back at 11:30 pm to find that the battery in the key pad on the door was dead and we were locked out. The property manager answered her phone, even at 11:30pm and drove over with the key to let us in.
If we ever return to Fairbanks, we would stay here again! Also, we locked out. The
Most comfort and quiet neighborhood!
The description of the property is 💯% accurate. The layout was perfect, bedding high end quality, great night sleep. Super comfortable. Every attention to detail.
Clean, everything you need to cook a five star meal. We shopped at Costco, for Salmon, Halibut, Stone crab and 4 pound huge shrimp $150.00 fed us the entire week! The neighborhood was lovely easy in and out.
The host was attentive, responded right away. I had an Issue with unlocking the door, to my own fault. When we arrived,
The sun was shinning on the door. So I was not able to see the key pad under the flat electronic surface. When you shield the lock from the sun you’re able to see the key pad just fine.
Location was also perfect to Creamers field, Ice Competition, UOA and shopping.
We had a bucket list trip. And it didn’t have the touristy feel.
If you’re chasing the Aura, find a group of enthusiasts, who will send arrests when the Aura is happening. It’s called chasing Aurora for a reason.
By far one of the best trips of my life!
We’ll be back in Simmer or Fall!
Thanks Coho Host for helping make our trip an amazing memorable event in our life!
The owner did not provide me with instructions to get into the property and was unreachable. I was on the phone with VRBO for 2 hours trying to figure out what to do. They couldn’t find me an alternative place to stay because everything was booked. They essentially told me I was on my own to figure it out. I had to book a place 70 minutes away from Fairbanks. Half way to the new destination the owner finally calls me back 2 hours after check-in time and acted like it wasn’t her fault that she didn’t know she had confirmed a reservation and that it also wasn’t her fault that she wasn’t reachable. Very unapologetic. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any reservation. To be stranded in the middle of Alaska as a woman, with no where to stay and no one was willing to help was the worst feeling. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
This modern, stylish, completely functional, super well equipped place was exactly what we needed. It was close to everything, easily accessible, and private. Two bedrooms and a bath downstairs with the kitchen and family room upstairs. Laundry soap, shampoo and tips, left over drinks in the fridge and spices galore were all at our disposal. It was wonderful! There was a guide book on the counter that was so well done—and I’m a tough critic! Teh was responsive when we had questions and the owner called personally from his work trip too. Five stars all the way! And—we saw the lights! And Denali, and a bear, and the pipeline, and the hot springs, …. 😁
ATTENTION TO DETAILS IS EVERYTHING AND THE OWNER NAILED IT!
I was extremely pleased with overall condition and ease of getting to the location. The Owner ensured everything you could possibly need for a stay away from home was taken care of; sometimes it’s just the simple things like ziplock bags, seasonings, or dryer sheets that make all the difference in the world! I really appreciated the extra care and thoughtfulness to ensure my comfort.
This is a great place to stay in Fairbanks! The location is convenient to everything you could possibly need. And the place has everything you could possibly need. Super comfy beds, great linens and lots of extra fluffy towels. I’ve stayed in other locations, but this is the one I will book again. Highly recommend!
