Came out here to visit the university that my daughter will be attending. The house was centrally located within walking distance to downtown which was great.
There was plenty of room for everyone and the beds were comfortable. Loved the coffee maker with free coffee! Parking is ample and the backyard is a perfect place to hang out.
Highly recommend.
This home met all our needs and then some. It’s a mixture of old beautiful features with all the amenities for modern living. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you Connie and Tom.
Our stay was short and sweet as we were there to drop our son off at Colorado Mesa University the following morning, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were able to spend a relaxing evening the beautiful backyard just enjoying the lovely, cool summer evening. The location was also great for going back and forth from campus.
We had a great time during our stay, the property was clean and had great amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and the kids loved the toys as well as the s'more bar and the fire pit. Great location, we were able to walk to the park and visit nearby museums.
Thanks for the wonderful stay!
Property is in a great location, close to restaurants and great outdoor trails and conservation areas. Appreciated the beautiful, comfortable home with a lot of nice touches.
Lots of room for all our family, plenty of silverware to have more than one meal, great kitchen, nice fenced yard. My grandkids enjoyed the toys available. Having the laundry area was a good help for the first leg of our journey. Will stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay in such a spacious and well decorated home. Connie and Tom were wonderful hosts, very responsive. All 7 of us found the beds and bedding to be very comfortable and we appreciated all of the kitchen amenities as well. Would definitely stay again.
From pre-stay communication, the property and location...all amazing! We enjoyed the home so much. Clean, bright, updated and so many wonderful touches. Toys and books for the kids, smores station and coffee, everything you need in the kitchen. We will be back!
We stayed here with our wedding party for our wedding weekend and couldn’t have been happier with the place! It was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed! Connie was so kind and wonderful at communicating with us to accommodate us and answer any questions I had. Loved the stocked S’Mores Bar, cornhole, beautiful primary suite and all of the space to hangout and enjoy our company. Everyone loved staying here and it made the weekend so fun!
Very functional layout for entertaining large groups. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Outdoor area was nice. Parking was a breeze and the location was nice. We enjoyed it a lot!
Stay here!! The host was so helpful, the house clean, beautiful, well stocked, and the location was ideal!! Not to mention the quiet neighborhood and the very inviting back yard! We loved all of it and we definitely stay there again!!
This house was beautiful and immaculately clean. Everything we needed was available to us, even plenty of entertainment! Fire Pit, Cornhole Boards, Smore station. I would stay at this property again and again!
The house looks deceivingly small on the outside but it seems to go on and on inside. It sits on a quiet street and we were able to take our doggie for nice walks around the area. The remodel of this older property is quite beautiful. They saved the floors and the wood work and it is decorated with up to date stylishness. The kitchen is outfitted with most everything. There were only 3 of us staying here for a few days with son and daughter in law visiting in the evenings. The location is close to downtown and we did walk there one late afternoon. It was a great family get-together home!
Beautiful older style home with upgrades to compliment home and location
This Home was perfect for my 52nd Birthday. We went to the Avalon Theatre for Marcus King Concert 12 minutes away. Had Dinner at The Winery. Everything was perfect! The home had coffee and accessories for the ladies which was important. The backyard was perfect for a little fire. We used Duraflame logs and didn't make a huge mess or set off embers. Host was very informative on everything even with texts. The ambience and room settings and decor really gave it the downtown Grand Junction feel.

I grew up in Grand Jct and love all that GJ has to offer. My husband (Tom) and I bought this house because we loved the character of the home and it has turned out to be a great vacation rental. Knowing that guests feel comfortable and are having great family time makes it all worth it! We work on maintaining the home in our spare time. I work full time as Director of Behavioral Health at a community health clinic. Tom works for a natural gas company as a production systems supervisor. We are a blended family with grown children. I like to work with people and Tom likes to do projects so we make a great team!
Why they chose this property
The GJ Downtown Retreat is special to us because it has that old fashioned charm with a lot of modern upgrades. There is plenty of space that can accommodate a lot of people, which is rare for a lot of the downtown homes. The backyard is great for family time with BBQs, playing games and roasting smore's! It is centrally located - so close to parks, lots of sporting events around, downtown shopping and restaurants, and Colorado Mesa University. Not to mention some of the Colorado beauty around - close to the Colorado National Monument and only about 45 min away from the Mesa which is great for skiing, hiking and fishing. Closer by is the Lunch Loop which is great for biking and hiking!
