Pontificator's Perch - you'll love the view, by Buffalo Mtn Getaway
Reach for the stars and stay in the clouds. The Pontificator's Perch sits atop Slatemont Mountain, elevation 3274 feet. It's a steep drive, but so worth the breathtaking views. Featuring a wrap around deck with a covered porch, it's perfect for family and pets as well. You'll want to enjoy some time on the porch to relax with your favorite book and beverage or head out to hike with your pet. Mabry Mill and Chateau Morrisette are just down the road.
This delightful cabin is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. Enjoy the wrap around decks and balcony and have your meals outside. The views are breathtaking and you can see for miles and miles. In fact, you can see Pilot Mountain in NC from our deck in Meadows of Dan, VA. Floyd, VA and Mt. Airy, NC are less than 30 miles away.
The stars are beautiful and there is a natural peace at the Perch. Come stay with us!

Don't let the fact that we don't have AC deter you from staying with us. The Perch sits high on a mountain, so there is a constant breeze. We have screens in all the windows so just open them up and let the cool come through.
Just a few reminders:
1 - Pets allowed with permission, MAX 2 dogs, sorry NO cats.
2 - Absolutely NO Smoking
3 - Please do not move furniture
4 - You'll be staying in a cabin in the woods. We apologize now if bugs make it into the cabin between cleaning and your arrival. That's just cabin life. We have pest control service, but the bugs are smarter :)
5 - Keep it clean. When you leave it should look the same as you entered, with the exception of bed linens and towels
6 - Remember it's our home, so treat it with respect

There's no place like home, except here.
The living space, on the second floor, includes a unique slab dining table and plenty of windows. Enjoy the gas fireplace, or open all the windows for a steady breeze. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of utensils, plates, etc. Also, on the second level you'll find our guest bedroom with a full/twin bunk and a 2nd full bath. The upper level hosts the master bedroom with a unique full size bed and full size bath. Enjoy your own deck, with table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage. On the lower, entry level, there is plenty of room to stretch out, enjoy Netflix and Prime Video on a spacious sectional. It also includes a 3rd full bath and laundry.
