Cute, cozy cottage right on the shoreline. Beautiful view of the lake. The cottage is very well maintained and very comfortable. Have stayed here several times now and will stay here again. Always tough to leave.
We really enjoyed our stayed at this lovely, cozy cabin! Our family of 5 enjoyed the comfort of this cabin, the amenities, the clean lake and beautiful surroundings. The host's communication was prompt and helpful with recommendations in the area. We would absolutely recommend this property!
The view out the front is so much better than the pictures portray. It is a quiet relaxing place to stay right on the water. The cabin is very open and thoughtfully decorated, really feels like a home not a rental.
The property is very close to the water and the distance between other homes/cabins is nicely spaced. Cabin inside is updated and nicely decorated. My only "negative" is the beds are too soft. We did not bring a boat but 2 nice piers are available and we caught fish.
Had a really nice stay, the cabin is super cute, clean, and had everything we needed. The fireplace was great, it kicked out the heat and made the cabin cozy. Was also a great location, had a superb lake view with amazing sunrise/sunset views, was also not too far from Cable so all weekend activities were easy to get to. I’d definitely stay there again.
The cabin was a great place for a small group of us looking to do some local snowmobiling. It had all the necessities you would expect on a stay away from home. The host was very accommodating and easy to get ahold of. It was a great place to stay!
We had a great time, it's right on the lake 10 feet from the door so it was awesome parked the sled's on the lake . Cabin clean and cute had everything we needed . Hope to come check it out in the summer . Thanks again Liz !!
I have waited more than the 24 hour rule to write this review. I have never had an experience like this with any rental before. This advertised cabin is a lake cottage. I don’t believe Intended for use in the winter. When we arrived the path to the door was not shoveled, (there wasn’t one for us to do it either) which made access tricky. There was 6” snow on the ground and 6 more coming that night. Our parents are elderly and this was unsafe for them to navigate. The only bathroom shower drain backed up. (I can assume frozen pipe) Cell service is non existent. We ended up messaging the host via WiFi. She requested picture proof of the issue. Which was provided. We told her we can’t stay in a place without a shower and without safe entry. We left and found other lodging. She messaged back that it was fixed. She wouldn’t provide proof. We spoke with host on the phone. She repeatedly dismissed our safety concerns and refused a refund. We drove back to the property the next day to see if concerns were addressed. (We did not reenter the rental after leaving the day before). Snow was deeper and entry more difficult than the night before. We contacted Vrbo and filed a complaint. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing is resolved. The host refuses to refund. For the price and the fees associated this place should have been a dream. If I could post the pictures of the shower here I would, it was awful.
We were in town for the Snowmobile club trail cleanup event. The cabin was cozy and had a beautiful view of Garden lake. The neighbors were friendly. Better bring your pizza cutter with you as I was unable to find one. The cabin was clean and big enough for three adults. It was great for a couple nights. It had the amenities needed for most. If you want a fancy modern cabin, keep looking.
The host is incredible. She was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions. She is also flexible with check-in and check-out times, which was very helpful. The space was very clean and had all of the necessities for a week stay. The lake was beautiful for swimming with our children; well cleaned and shallow. The surrounding area is truly amazing for people that enjoy nature. We forgot few of our belongings and the host mail it to us. This was incredibly kind of her. She is a super host!
Overall, it's a great little cabin to spend a week on a great lake system.
Our first outside impression was it was kind of icky. It's an older cabin on a lake so we were a little apprehensive as we entered the cabin. Typical of an older lake cabin, lots of cob webs and dead bugs on the outside of a cabin.
But, we entered the cabin, and wow, so cute and so clean!!! Seriously, we needed to get something out from under the sofa...perfectly clean, no dust bunnies etc. Updated oven, we might have been the first ones to use it. And well appointed with things that were needed or useful as we stayed a week. If we forgot something, we were able to find it there.
The property has 2 docks for use which was really nice. The property has 4 other cabins
Overall a great little older cabin to spend a week. We lucked out and it wasn't too hot so we had the windows open the entire week, so we had no need for the AC. We ran the AC the first night we were there and it sufficiently cooled the cabin.
Fishing was great! We only fished for bluegill and perch. We caught a bunch off the dock and also caught a bunch on other areas of the lake with our boat. I believe it's a great fertile lake system with lots of fish and a good balance from panfish to larger game fish. We didn't target walleye, smallmouth or northern but caught a couple while fishing for panfish. And lots of stuff relatively close to visit, hike etc. It's a great location for an up north vacation.
Highly recommend.
The owner lies and can't be trusted, she is very difficult to reach, she informed us 2 days before our move in date the hot water was not working. She than told us it would be working by mid-week, and that she had to order a new hot water heater, and that it would be installed until Wednesday. We traveled up to the place in good faith late Tuesday. We waited for the plumber to install the new heater on Wednesday, but he never arrived, he showed up on Thursday (still no hot water). When he arrived and we asked where the new heater is he told us it had not been ordered yet (owner lied). We called the owner left her a voice message that we were going to head back home, I also sent a text message (confirmed delivery) that we were leaving and requested a complete refund. When we finally got in touch with her, she did not want to provide any reimbursement only wanted to offer us to stay a different date. She finally agreed that there was an issue but only refunded us 6 days instead of the the10 days we paid for. She lied again stating she was never informed that we left. We even told her plumber that we were leaving. We have been using VRBO for many years, this is the worst vacation we have ever had. We would not recommend renting form this new owner. We are filling a report with VRBO, and with American Express.
We stayed at the cabin for opening deer hunting weekend. The stay was good with a nice view.

Why they chose this property
There’s nothing I don’t enjoy about this neighborhood, but the front yard being a lake is probably my favorite! Whether it’s fishing, kayaking, swimming, or boating, being on the lake is my happy place. I also enjoy peaceful walks/runs on Garden Lake Road, the close proximity to an abundance of great bars and restaurants, and other outdoor activities the area has to offer including bike trails, hikes and lookouts, and water activities. The locals are the kindest people you will meet and sharing all of these activities with my family and friends are what make it special.
