Welcome to Hideaway on the Bay - This charming home naturally turns your vacation into a relaxing retreat. Nestled in famous Kye Bay, this 2 bedroom home is across the street from one of the nicest beaches in the area. A 30 second walk on the beach takes you to a great playground for kids of all ages. Dog friendly with a provided bed and bowls.

After a long day in the water, or just a stroll on the beach, share some stories with friends in your private backyard while you cook a great meal on the propane BBQ. Mornings are the perfect time to make a cup of coffee and curl up with a good book on the enclosed front patio.

At night, or on a cool day, cozy up with your favourite streaming service on the smart TV and let the electric fireplace keep you snug. There is also a small library as well as board games for all ages. Wifi and a dedicated work space ensure you can stay connected if needed during your stay.

Enjoy a relaxing bath in the recently renovated bathroom while enjoying the large skylight.

A few things to note about the home

- This home is not beach front. We are across the street from the beach. There is an easy access path to the beach.

- The master bedroom has a king bed, the spare room as a bunk (twin/full) and there is a pullout couch with a queen mattress in the living room.

- While the kitchen has all the tools you need to make the perfect meal, please note there is no dishwasher. Plenty of soap and scrub pads are provided.

- There are no residential open fires permitted in the town of Comox

- The home is primarily heated by independent wall registers (there is no master thermostat, you control the temperature at each individual heater).

Spring solitude

I found the Hideaway to be a relaxing and quiet place to spend a few days. It had everything we needed, and it didn’t feel impersonal like many rentals do. The cottage delighted me with its rustic and well thought out interiors. It’s just the kind of place I enjoy the most.

Great stay!

We loved our time at Kye Beach, this cottage was exactly what we needed to have a great family time. Bedrooms were great, we loved the skylight bathroom and the kitchen and living area allowed us to eat and cook together as a family. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again for sure!

Always a great stay

This is the second time we have stayed here. It’s a lovely cottage. It’s a clean, well-appointed spot within steps of the beach. You can see a bit of the ocean from the porch, too! Chris is quick to reply and a wonderful host. We hope to come back again.

Kye Bay Comfort

More than enough room for us (3 adults) Comfortable in everyway. Lovely cottage, view of the beach, pretty back yard and patio. Good kitchen , great stove with 2 ovens. Large TV which was great for hockey games. All in all a treat, we would stay again.

What a perfect little oasis

We loved staying at the cottage. Close to the park, open concept for family hang outs indoors. The tub was fantastic, especially for cars for our two year old lol thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Will definitely be coming back

Cozy little cottage steps away from the beach!

The cottage was so spacious, with a gorgeous kitchen and bathroom! It slept our party of 5 very comfortable. I loved doing Yoga in the front sunroom with a view of the ocean waves. Kye Bay is such beautiful beach so many seals and cool birds . Chris was a great host as well! Will for sure be coming back :)

Charming & cozy beachside cottage

We spent an extra long weekend at this property and just loved it. The cottage was comfortable and spacious with plenty of room to cook and lounge. The shower with skylight was such a special treat. The location can’t be beat. Close to amenities and downtown Comox. Most importantly, Kye Bay is right across the street. We had long beach walks every morning at low tide and it was truly spectacular. Lastly, Chris, the host, was so kind, accommodating and very responsive to questions. I can’t wait to visit again and have already recommended this cottage to friends : )

Beach with tide out is the bonus . Relatively uncrowded and friendly neighbours. Speed limit should be 30.

Cute and Comfy

We'd never been up Island before so our booking here was a shot in the dark. Overall we were pleased. The location was across the street from beach access with chairs, mats & towels were all available for our use. Also the fact that the back yard was fenced was a plus since we had our dog with us. The cottage itself was quite interesting, clearly a remodel of an old structure that looked to be done by a do-it-yourselfer. I loved the glass ceiling over the shower and the tile work was unique. The kitchen had a combination of new appliances with an old or retro refrigerator. It would have been nice to have ice in the freezer. It was great to have a filtered water tap at the sink except that it dripped continuously. I loved the openness of the floorplan in the main part of the cottage. The kind sized bed was super comfy. The front porch was a great place to sit in the morning with a cup of tea. Overall I'd recommend this location.

Great location

House was tidy and very pleasant other than windows being screen less and older so not easy to open. And the washer smelled very badly of mildew. We cleaned it with products to remove smell because the one load we did smelled awful after. This was minor and remedied. I never mentioned it to the host. Sure he’d have been receptive to my comments as he was pleasant and easy to deal with. Location was fantastic!! It is near a naval base so you will hear planes flyover. We loved seeing them. Very cool. Right across the road is access to a beautiful beach with a gorgeous view of the distant mountains. We loved our stay!!

Perfect beach house

Amazing beach house that I booked last minute. Very easy and smooth booking process. It's a beautiful older house with lovely hard wood flooring. Private backyard with BBQ. Full washer and dryer. Very comfy king bed. Great shower with sky light. I love the sunroom. Lovely airflow through the whole house that smelled of jasmine.I love the decor, felt welcoming Kitchen has all you need and then some, just bring food. Great stove! I love the keyless entry; very simple to use (at night, press the bottom left of the pad which is the home button and that lights it up). Chris, the owner is very quick to respond if you need anything. Unbelievable location. It's literally steps to the path to a gorgeous beach where the tide goes out forever and is lovely to swim. If you have kids they'll love it! Especially the warm tidal pools. Owner has some toys for kids and beach chairs. Very quiet neighborhood. I was worried about the noise being underneath a military airport but it wasn't noisy at all. You can hear the planes during the day but it's not a busy airport; the planes neither woke me nor kept me awake and were never a bother and I don't like noise. It was very difficult to leave! I really hope I'll be back soon!

Cozy cottage

Comfortable, cute and an amazing beach across the street. The area is quiet and the beach is right there. We were worried about the Comox Air Force base being right there but only once did we hear a loud jet taking off. We would stay at the cottage again. It is set up for comfort and had a good bed.

A Little Piece of Paradise in Comox

Wow! The best beach in Comox is right across the street! Amazing neighbourhood with wonderful areas to walk. Extremely comfortable beds and a cozy livingroom. Beautiful bathroom and a cute kitchen. WiFi was awesome for work and streaming. A little far from shopping, groceries and restaurants. But that is what makes this quiet little hideaway so special. We will be back!
