Wonderful week in a great vacation home. Great quiet neighborhood, wonderful pool and short drive to Cape Charles. Home very well furnished and equipped!
Great vacation house! We had three generations of family, ranging from 84 years old to only 5, and there was something for everyone! Very commodious, host very responsive. Highly recommend!!
We had a great time at the Sandpiper! We loved the convenience of having a private pool! The house was very clean and nicely stocked with everything you need! We highly recommend this vacation rental!
My family and I enjoy our stay so much I recommend this house to my family and friends and I would come back again. If anyone looking for a great place stay look no further you found it.
We had such an amazing stay. We stayed for 7 days and loved it so much we’re planning on coming back. The home is beautiful!! We definitely enjoyed the state park for fishing! Everything was amazing.
The home was exactly as advertised.
It was very comfortable and exceptionally family friendly. Cape Charles is a beautiful little town and this home was the perfect place to stay! We were super close to the state park beach, which was phenomenal as we didn't feel the need to stay all day with the kids. We could go to the beach in the morning and come home and enjoy the pool for the remainder of the day. Megan was AMAZING throughout the whole process. Check in was simple, the special touches and goodies were perfect, and the welcome book had everything you needed to know. I would highly recommend this rental!!
We enjoyed an absolutely fantastic vacation here, everything was perfect and very well thought out by the hosts, with so many extras! Great location too, so close to Kiptopeke State Park beaches and nature trails, and a very short ride to the Cape Charles beachfront. We saw many gorgeous sunrises, sunsets, and even a few shooting stars from the back deck. Highly recommended!!
Great house to relax (large pool and yard) with family and friends. Extremely close to Kiptopeke State Park to enjoy the swimming beach, biking trails and lighted fishing pier. I know you’re on vacation but wonderful kitchen equipment to help you entice late risers with the smell of freshly baked muffins, cakes or quick breads. Highly recommend.
The home was very nice and the host and her family were very accommodating. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us. Thanks for letting us stay in your home!! Our children enjoyed the pool and slushie machine. The appliances were very nice and the little surprises left around the home for us were very thoughtful and sweet.
I've spent much time down the Eastern shore as a child, as one side of my family is from the area; however, I hadn't frequented the area of Kiptopeke. The house is great - spacious, clean, inviting, and in a great area. Not far from the Bay/Tunnel Bridge (if you want to go to VA Beach), Kiptopeke State Park is basically next to the house, and close to Cape Charles (another great little beach town). Additionally, further up Rt. 13 is a host of other little towns to explore. Megan, the host, is friendly and great with communicating in the event you have questions. My boyfriend and I highly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!
Good night, the house is fantastic, everything was excellent, it was always there to help me with any inconvenience, the rest, the beach was a bit, my bad experience was bad, you could not swim due to bacteria in the water due to dead fish, but the house and the pool are perfect for kids
We absolutely loved this place. We were looking for a place to enjoy and relax and this is it! It was hot and humid so the pool was our favorite place. So warm and clean and inviting. Megan answered any question we had - I don't think we had many. The house has everything - grills, decks, children toys (our little sooo enjoyed them), some pool floats, air conditioning in the house, 3 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, beach towels and toys and an umbrella - you really just need to pack your clothes. We really loved it. We made a couple trips to virginia beach over the bridge/tunnel (very easy to do) and went into Cape Charles and a winery. Just lovely and so needed. Thank you so much!!!!
We stayed for a whole week. I was actually sad to go. This is the first time a VRBO felt like a home and not a vacation rental. Kitchens are always equipped with cheap disposable items, furniture is old - maybe second hand, linens and towels are old/cheap, etc.. not here. The kitchen had real (nice) pots/pans, the towels and bedding were luxurious, the furniture was new and of quality, and the house was stocked with just about everything we might need and some things we didn’t know we needed. We had excellent and thorough communication with the host. Her pride in the property and thoughtful hosting is very apparent. Megan went well out of her way to make sure we had a special, memorable time.
We wanted to find a home that we could rest, relax, and reconnect as a family, with our three teens/tweens, after a long school year and busy summer. This was the perfect place! We were able to do all those things, as well as swim, cook family meals, visit the cute little town of Cape Charles, take a trip up to Chincoteague Island, and a trip to the aquarium in Virginia Beach. Megan and her family were super to work with and answered all our questions quickly. The home was super clean, well stocked, and had little surprises for our family waiting for us! Our kids loved the slushie machine (my husband and I enjoyed frozen adult drinks, also!) and they loved making s'mores each night after we swam. Thank you for a wonderful week! We are ready to take on a new school year, now! This is the perfect place for your family to reconnect!
Megan and her surrounding family were such great hosts! Our daughter gets easily overwhelmed at the ocean beaches (we typically go to the Outer Banks) and my wife and I loved Cape Charles on our 1st visit last fall, so we decided that this was a great option between the Kiptopeke SP beach access, the Cape Charles beach and the swimming pool at the house. Not too mention, we love the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk as well! Such a relaxing stay and we enjoyed the slushie maker all week - Megan even provides two flavors as well (though we also made a homemade lemonade). Only downside of the entire week stay was the power blips on the last two nights as summer storms rolled through - and even lost power for roughly an hour or so - but Megan and her mom were accommodating in their willingness to provide candles and other light sources until the power was back on. We made the best of it and got ice cream at the Brown Dog in Cape Charles, so all in all worked out. We’d definitely consider staying again as our kiddos loved it and esp their bunk bed room :)
This was the perfect solution for our family to spread out and have room for our kids to run around the big yard after a day of swimming. The extras made the trip super special! We did s’mores, movie nights, grilled out, and Megan’s dad was so nice! We’ve never tried clams and he brought us some for everyone to try. the kids loved the experience! Kiptopeke state park beach allowed us to let the kids enjoy a not so crowded beach and no rough waves or currents. Megan suggested a hike that our kids loved! And there are a bunch of little restaurants, and the food Lion grocery store, on the cape side so we only had to get back on the long toll bridge once or twice to go into Virginia Beach for some preplanned activities. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed, we were able to make so many meals here with ease. The slushie machine was a huge hit with the kids, and the pool of course. The beds were great the kids loved the bunk beds there are actually 6 beds in the kids room. We’re so sad leaving today.
We just finished a week at The Sandpiper with our two daughters, their spouses, and our grandchildren, ages 5, almost 3, and 6 weeks and we all had a wonderful time. We have been staying at VRBO and realty company-managed vacation rentals for 15 years or so and have never had a home that included as many perks as The Sandpiper. Property owner Megan and her family were gracious hosts and have thought of everything that would make anyone's stay special. Comfortable living and sleeping areas with an abundance of bath and bed linens, a well-stocked kitchen with extras like a slushie machine, Instapot, built-in griddle, and S'mores kit, plus a wonderful deck with above-ground pool that was exceptionally clean. Another bonus is this home is just a few minutes from Kiptopeke State Park with a lovely beach that is perfect for young children, and a short drive to Cape Charles with fun shops and restaurants and another beautiful beach. I truly can't think of anything I could add to what Megan has provided. She was always accessible by text or phone and was prompt in answering any questions that came up. She even made sure we were aware of special events happening during our stay in the Cape Charles area. I definitely recommend this property and look forward to returning soon!
This is a wonderful place to stay and very clean. It was equipped with everything you need. (Pool, Fire Pit, Slushy/ Pina Colada Machine) The owner provided the Mix and even a bottle of wine. There was more than enough room to relax and enjoy. If you are looking for a clean and quiet place to stay, I 100% recommend this place!
