Perfect rural enclave with easy access to Portland
My 22 year old daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend. We had a rental car, so the short drive to Aurora's antiquing and wine tasting quick and easy, but even if we'd not had a car and only the access to the adorable and delicious Historic Butteville Market two blocks away and trail head into Champoeg State Park a couple blocks further would've given us all we needed for a weekend.
I stayed with my teenage son and the house worked well for what we needed. Enjoyed the walk to the store for ice cream and loved the character of the home
The house & amenities were perfect for our family of 5.
It was a minute from the historic Butteville Country Store which served all of our food & even some music needs.
2 items that need some attention are: there are a couple mice that are active in the kitchen at night that we saw.
And being downstairs, we can hear upstairs renters clearly until late @ night.
The backyard sitting area is lovely when it is cool.
Hiking in Champoeg Park is refreshing. And lady Hill Winery across the road is lovely.
This is a lovely old farmhouse that has had a great remodel and updating. It was roomy and comfortable. Emily was a wonderful host and extremely responsive. Thank you for a great stay!
Rented the bottom floor of the house to visit family for Thanksgiving. Pictures of the property do not do it justice. Craftsmanship of the house is beautiful (I am a professional painter) and the history of the house is obvious, dating back at least to 1901. Was unaware of the historical significance located in nearby Champoeg State Park and the Newell Pioneer Village. Hoping to stay here again to spend more time there. Overall, a great vacation.
The home is beautiful and the location was great for our stay. However, we had the downstairs unit and someone else had the upstairs unit. It was so loud every time someone in the upstairs unit walked across the floor!!! It sounded like a herd of elephants had rented the upstairs unit.
Had a lovely stay. Easy to get to and lovely grounds.
People renting the above unit were loud but it didn’t take away from the downstairs unit we rented.
Recently renovated older home, with a lot of small touches and attention to detail which reminds you of a classic era while still being up-to-date. We stayed in the downstairs portion, which was larger than expected, and a nice place to come relax during the evenings.
This was just the place we needed to stay for my daughter's and my horse show "homebase." Just 15-20 minutes away from Wilsonville horse show, had air conditioning, had a cute sandwich/ice cream shop a short walk away, and 10 minutes from Wilsonville. We will be back!
Our group stayed here for the renaissance fair in canby. This is a beautiful home! The water iss off of a well, so the owner supplies bottled water. A few minor things came up that the owner handled. Overall a wonderful experience. (Also, the butteville store is not a store but in fact a restaurant)
