Ready to press pause? Maybe even rewind? Ready to de-stress from the hectic pace of life? Ready to recharge and spend hours enjoying an amazing view?
Stonehaven offers the ideal get-away for those who simply want to enjoy many of the comforts of modern life in a relaxed setting. The home is tastefully decorated with many unique antiques and wood carvings from Japan, providing a nice merge of Eastern and Western cultures.
Designed for socializing, the open living room, dining room and kitchen area provide the perfect location for family gatherings. On a warm summer's evening, continue the merriment outside on the spacious front deck. As the sun sets, enjoy s'mores at the campfire as you listen to the loon's evening call. The stone filled beach front will provide hours of entertainment for avid rock-skippers in the group.
With two full bedrooms and an additional loft, Stonehaven comfortably sleeps 7 guests. Constructed in 2000, the house is conveniently located near Pigeon Cove, midway between the ferry and four-corners.
Wake early, enjoy a quiet coffee on the deck. The house is located at an ideal kayaking location -- within easy paddling of some geocache sites on the neighboring islands.

Second visit to the home. Very very comfortable and well provisioned. Bed in the downstairs bedroom is too firm. Suggest a pillow top of some sort. Thank you Amy. We hope to return next October/ 2025. Jay and Karen.
Really enjoyed the location and amenities. Weather was cool and very windy. The views were fantastic! Cell service was non existent outside of using the wifi. Very relaxing!
We came to Drummond Island for a Labor Day getaway with our dog. We loved the property and the area. The house was clean and had everything we needed! Highly recommend! We would stay here again!
That’s what we found at Stonehaven! The house was beautiful, nature was constantly entertaining, and the only downside was needing to leave. We also greatly appreciated the accommodations when my father was ill - your understanding made a difficult time easier to manage. Thank you!
We visit the UP often for family vacations. This was the finest property thus far. Clean, roomy, comfortable, quiet and convenient location, and beautifully decorated with lots of extras. We took a day trip pontooning, another to Mackinaw City, another to the Big Shoal beach with hike on the Heritage trail and yet another to the Fossil Ledges. All that and we still had plenty of time for rest relaxation and fun on the water. Thank you for sharing your space for our wonderful vacation.
House was absolutely beautiful, lake views outstanding, location very convenient to everything. Host was very nice and accommodating, could not ask for anything more.
Huge windows in very comfortable home Big views of the lake from inside the home or out on the amazing wooden rocking loveseat where we enjoyed hours each evening. Northern Lights left us in awe. We needed nothing as we had everything provided.
We had a great time and the property location is beautiful. House is clean and well maintained! Would go back

great hard to find location
location was great and easy to get to although there was no house number and wasnt sure if we had the correct place. walked in and had to find the owners name.
This is a well built, nice place with a great layout and amazing views of the northern sky and shore. Great views all day but especially at sunrise and sunset.
It was a relief to find a place that doesn’t allow pets!
The home was beautiful and we loved it. It was especially wonderful to find a place that doesn’t allow pets because I have allergies and it is really hard to find places that don’t anymore.
We enjoyed three days of trail ridding (SxS) and had some very challenging rides. It was a pleasure to come back to our relaxing and very restful stay at Stonehaven. It had everything we needed. Only drawbacks were limited TV and parking space.
Great place to stay, best supply of household goods, and very amicable hosts.
We were blessed with a full moon, Loons, Cranes, Muskrats, shooting stars, Northern Lights, and a lightning show!!! We felt very at home and comfortable. The view is astonishing!
Beautiful home on Sturgeon Bay, Kari is very thoughtful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again. Four of us girls played golf not that far from home.
We really enjoyed staying at Stonehaven! The property was exactly as described. Even though we did not do a lot of cooking, I was pleased with everything available to prepare meals. We also really appreciated all the extra touches like having extra paper products, trash bags, etc. The check in and check out process was so easy. Honestly, the entire vacation was amazing!! Looking forward to our next trip! 😊

About the host
Hosted by Amy Gutierrez
A fourth generation Islander, Amy always dreamed of owning waterfront property on Drummond Island. After graduating from college, she traveled to Japan and taught at a Department of Defense School on a military base. She returned that summer with the down payment for her dream. One year later, her boyfriend proposed to her on the rocks by the shore, the following summer they married on Drummond Island. Then, the took the plunge and started building what they affectionately referred to as their "summer retirement home." Three years later, construction was finished in preparation for their first child. Since then, returning to Stonehaven for part of the summer has become an annual pilgrimage, complete with boating, berry picking, hiking, baking, family gatherings, board games, kayaking, bingo nights and campfires.
Why they chose this property
Every time I pull up to the house and see the lake and islands off in the distance, I breathe a huge sigh. No matter the weather, the view is amazing and makes me pause and appreciate life.
On a practical note, I like being half-way between the ferry and the four corners (town). You can escape, yet have the relative convenience of getting either to town or heading off the Island.
What makes this property unique
The home is filled with many warm memories from our years in Japan and our summers on the Island. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Japanese wood pieces and decorations that became part of the home design.
