The Details:
Situated in Residential Estates our large 2,500 sqft house offers great views of the Lake Havasu golf course, palm trees, mountains and even a peek-a-boo view of the lake. Our home is centrally located and just minutes away from the lake, London Bridge, grocery stores, restaurants, bars and downtown shopping. We have a private gunite pool with brand new Pentair automation controlled pool equipment including a 400K BTU natural gas heater (pool can be heated with an additional fee of $50 per day). In October 2022 we had the pool re-plastered, new tile, turtle pool mosaics and added a 15" deep baja shelf. The pool is surrounded by palm trees, has an in-pool margarita table with water seating and an umbrella, Jacuzzi, a large new Cool Deck area with padded wicker patio furniture, huge covered patio with outdoor carpet, a high pressure misting system over the patio, ceiling fans, tables, chairs, natural gas BBQ with a side burner, and less than 50 feet from the green of the golf course where you can watch and listen to golfers doing their thing. We call the home our Havasu Hideout and I'm sure you will love it as much as we do.
On the back deck we have an 80-Quart rounded beverage rolling cooler that you can use to keep outdoor drinks cold, and not have to go in and out of the house to refresh your beverages. Our latest indoor additions are a Coffee Bar and an Ice Maxx Ice Maker. The ice maker makes up to 65 lbs. per day so that our guests have plenty of ice on those warm summer days at the house or at the lake, and also to keep the patio beverage cooler full of ice.
The house is 2,500 sqft with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen and game room with lots of areas to spread out. The beds are real beds (3 king, 2 queen and 4 twin beds) so we can fit up to 14 people without having to sleep on couches or on the floor. All rooms in the house have waterproof Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) except for the bedrooms and loft, which had new carpet installed in January 2021. There is a parking pad across the front of the house for boat and RV parking.
We have two NEST thermostat operated full size central air conditioners, one for each side of the house. They keep the house pretty cool but we added a large 23K BTU (2-ton) Mr Cool ductless mini-split AC unit in the loft and in June 2022 we added a 12K BTU unit in the Master Bedroom. We like it ice cold when we sleep and thought our guests might like that option too. The living room ceiling is almost 20 feet high and the loft was usually a couple of degrees warmer than the rest of the house so that's why we added the mini-split. With four air conditioners we can keep the house nice and cool all summer.
Our place is an easy drive from the 95 with it being about 5 minutes up Acoma or Jamaica, which have 35 mph speed limits and just one stop sign. This was important to us as many of the homes in Havasu we've stayed at took 15 to 20 minutes to navigate all of the side streets and required a phone GPS to find it or to drive anywhere else from there. If you've been to Havasu before you know how maddening the street layouts are. To get to the London Bridge from our home you drive by one house, make a right turn, another four houses, make a right turn, stay on the same street for another six minutes and you're there. Easy! The priorities for us in finding a home were the location, a pool, size of the house, and views. Our Havasu Hideout hits all those buttons and more.
Residential Estates is one of the few areas in Lake Havasu that has natural gas for heating and appliances. We have natural gas for the pool/jacuzzi heater, furnaces, hot water heater, clothes dryer, fireplace, BBQ, and the oven and stove. How many people out there say that they'd prefer an electric stove to a gas one? We hear the opposite from people all the time and most locals in Lake Havasu say they would love to have gas appliances. Cooking with gas is more precise, and allows the cook to control the exact amount of heat underneath a pot. A cook can roast peppers over a gas burner, char or warm tortillas, toast marshmallows for desserts, and do other things an electric stove does not easily allow. We also have underground utilities. That means no power poles or power lines that seem to always and annoyingly be in the pictures of other homes we've stayed at in the area.
Speaking of views, not only do we have the amazing "palm tree row" lined golf course view all the way down to the lake. We also have great mountain views, including the local landmark called Cupcake Mountain. The best view though is seen by sitting on the back patio looking down to the pool and decking and over a short wall and gate leading to the golf course. There are three bright red Kokopelli metal hangings on the wall posts behind the pool for a splash of color and a fun discussion topic. Kokopelli is a Native American fertility deity (god or goddess), usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player, and somewhat popular around the Lake Havasu area.
Showers:
An important point recently brought to our attention is that many of the homes in Lake Havasu and all of the ones that we've stayed at have only two bathrooms with showers, the typical 3BR 2BR home. One is in the master so it is often only used by the people in that room. The second bathroom with a shower tends to be a "community shower" with people waiting to use it, especially after coming back from the lake. All four of our bathrooms have showers so there is no lining up or waiting for that lake water rinse-off.
The Backyard:
Our family, friends and guests love the back yard and we spend most of our time there. We start off with morning coffee and watch/listen to the early morning golfers. It's fun to watch them as they drive towards the green (par 4 if you're interested), sometimes landing in the sand trap, chipping onto the green and putting in. I'm an occasional golfer and it's fun to see how many people 3-putt like I always seem to do. The golf course management is okay with people walking their dogs on the course later in the day and early evening so you sometimes see them and you are welcome to walk around the course as well. We even chip a few balls on the green and practice our putting on it from time to time. There is a gate from our backyard to the course so you can explore some too if you'd like, just don't get us in trouble if you interfere with the golfers or bother the neighbors.
It's great to eat meals on the carpeted and covered patio, cool off in the pool, spend time at the margarita table (in the pool) under the umbrella sipping adult beverages, relaxing on the deck around the pool and in the Jacuzzi at night. The patio has overhead lights, ceiling fans, and speakers for the SONOS music system. We have a backyard kitchen overlooking the pool and golf course that has a natural gas BBQ and a side burner. There is an air conditioned bathroom attached to the house but only accessible from the outside door.
CONCLUSION: I know I wrote a book here and if you read my listing all the way to the end I'd like to thank you for that. I try to be very thorough and make sure to communicate everything about the house and what our place has to offer. I'm proud of what we've done with our home when I'm there with family and friends and am quite confident you will have a great time if you decide to book it.
