Great LOCATION!!.
This early 1900's cottage has the BEST freeway access for all of your local exploring!
This Artist's Cottage has been recently remodeled. It is nested in the heart of Historical downtown Monument, a small community on the North-side of Colorado Springs. It is adjacent to a homemade-ice cream store, and kitty-corner from a park that hosts a spring-to-fall Saturday Farmer's Markets. The Santa Fe Trail is only one block away and is used by joggers, walkers and bicyclists. There are restaurants in short walking distance and freeway access is 2-minutes away. It hosts a new 200 square foot back deck with sun shade for relaxing, eating and enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

Cozy, not small, but adorable cottage

Loved being in old town Monument. Loved the idea of popsicle stick notes. Owner is artist and his studio is behind cottage. A must visit as is Lollys ice cream shop.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Artist Cottage. It was very clean and well stocked. It was in a great location and I was able to work around Monument to visit the restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay there again if I get to visit Monument again.

Small Town Close to it All

Beautifully renotvated cottage that is one of the original 20 homes in Monument! 1 hour south of Denver, 20-30 minutes north of Colorado Springs, providing access to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and Manitou Springs. It proved a great location for "basecamp"! Perfect amount of space for a family of four, with a private backyard and tastefully furnished deck. Right in the heart of historic Monument, you have an excellenct ice cream shop next door, tasty sandwich shop down the road, and a cute playground a couple blocks away. Don't miss the local artist studios! Beat those hotel prices, enjoy the privacy, and book the Artist's Cottage now!

Amazing!!

The cottage was perfect for our family of four. It had everything it needed for our week stay. The owner was so awesome and really made sure we were taken care of. We really enjoyed visiting and seeing amazing Colorado.

Awesome spot for a Colorado visit

My daughter and her friends went to Denver for a concert and loved their stay in this cozy cottage! They especially loved the close proximity to the farmer's market as well as the coffee/ice cream shop right next door!

Wonderful house, very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much. Great location. We were able to walk to restaurants and to the stores. We especially enjoyed the farmers market right outside the front door on Saturday.

My Mother and I stayed at this properly. We were in town to visit family for a baseball tournament and grandson confirmation. This property was close to my daughters house. The single level and walk in shower worked well for my elderly mother. We would stay here again.

Great Cottage at a Great Location

Daryl was a great host who communicated to ensure we had everything we needed. The cottage was equipped the best of any vacation rental we've stayed at. Especially the ice cream shop coupons. Its located in the center if Monument with great views of the mountains and walkable to lots of great restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect

This was perfect Vrbo experience. My son and I stayed down in Monument for hockey and the location of the cottage was perfect for us to explore town and make quick runs to Colorado Springs. Daryl was a great host and the cottage was the best kind of quirky. Super clean, well appointed and comfortable. The location was exceptional and the town beat all expectations. Dining out, yoga, running, biking are all right here. Thanks Daryl!

Delightful

This was the quaintest and best stocked rental property that we have ever stayed at. The mattresses were comfortable, linens were thick and soft, and there was ample storage space. The owners were incredibly thoughtful in how they stocked the kitchen and leaving special treats and snacks since we stayed over Christmas, even shoveling snow off the walkway for us. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more in such a beautiful place.

Wonderful accommodations

My husband and I were in Monument to visit family and were overly pleased with this find. Daryl is an excellent host and has everything you could ask. There is no need to ask where anything is or instructions the popsicle sticks were truly clever and helpful. The location is perfect to local shops and restaurants. We even visited the Saturday farmers market. Take time to enjoy the back patio and grill out. We had two unexpected deer visit us also. We highly recommend the Artists Cottage and would stay again. A most wonderful stay!

The Artist’s Cottage was everything we could have hoped for. The space is clean, comfortable, well stocked! But it’s really so much more! Every little detail has been thought of. We were able to really relax and felt inspired by the thoughtful art and kindness of our host!! The town is very friendly with lots of delicious eatery options within walking distance! We also enjoyed the new Santa Fe trail right around the corner from the front door! All of the beautiful activities like Pike’s Peak, Garden of the gods, Broadmoor, etc are an easy drive from the cottage. Our host, Daryl went absolutely above and beyond and we could not recommend this little cottage enough!

Exceeded expectations - very impressed.

I was on a business trip and needed a place to stay in Monument. Not only has Daryl put a lot of love and attention into fixing it up and equipping the cottage with everything guests could possibly want or need, but she has a way of making you feel like a welcomed guest. She has notes throughout the cottage anticipating the questions you may have and encouraging you to make yourself feel at home. The gestures made me feel incredibly welcome. The cottage is very conveniently located in Historic Downtown Monument where there are serval restaurants and cute little stores in walking distance, including a fun ice cream shop right next door and Daryl's Art Studio on the other side of the cottage. I wish my family could have enjoyed this perfect little cottage with me. I loved it so much - if I ever need to be in the Denver or Colorado Springs area - I will make it a point to stay here - thank you 🙏

Cozy Retreat

We had a wonderful spontaneous stay at this very thoughtful cottage. It was equipped we everything we could need for an unprepared road trip to Colorado after our Christmas flights were canceled. Lovely location too. Hope to stay here again!

A Beautiful Stay

We have family in Monument and booked this stay as a last minute reservation due to a recent death in our family. It was an emotional booking and travel to get there. Daryl was so helpful and stayed in contact with us as we landed and traveled from Denver to get to his rental. We arrived to a beautiful, welcoming and serene cottage. It was very well appointed, clean, with many personal touches throughout. On the coffee table was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and thoughtful, handwritten condolence card. We could not have asked for a more welcome stay during a very emotional time. We feel extremely blessed to have found such a gem. Thank you Daryl! For anyone thinking of renting this wonderful place, please do so! You will not be disappointed. Lastly, Daryl left us some gift certificates for an ice cream treat right next door. A wonderful treat to relax to. Great rental!

Monument Gem!

This little cottage was absolutely adorable. It has everything you will need for your stay. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare a few meals. The bedroom had a comfortable bed with nice linens, although a little tall for a five foot tall grandma. The bath had everything from shampoo, bath gel, plush towels, and even extra razors if needed. We loved the comfortable outdoor space and even used the gas grill one evening for dinner. The host was very easy to contact via text and was very responsive. His artist studio is just a few steps away. The perfect place to stay in Monument and we will definitely be back. Loved, loved, loved the Artist’s Cottage.

Lovely Cabin

I can not say enough good things about this cabin. Beautiful craftsmanship, had everything you could need and very clean. Monument is a quaint town and you can walk to everything. Convenient to Colorado Springs without the busy and traffic. Enjoyed meeting Daryl and seeing his art studio. Great place to stay for activities at USAFA. I will be back!

Just what we needed!

My husband and I were in town for USAFA Parents Weekend, and our cadet was able to stay several nights with us. This was just the right size for the three of us, and provided great spaces inside as well as outside for our son to get some much-needed rest. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare a few recipes from home. The host was very responsive and helpful from my first inquiry until the moment we checked out.

When our family relocated to Colorado Springs in 2014, we found this gem of a property right in downtown Monument, CO. The property has two separate buildings, a commercial building and a small home. My dream came true when we discovered exactly what we were searching for, my art studio that also has an income property.

Why they chose this property

The Artist's Cottage is one of the first homes in Monument and it dates back to the late 1800's or early 1900's. The remodel took 4.5 years as i was only able to work on it 1.5 day/week. The original home was only around 500 sq ft, and as was commonly done in those days, it was added onto 4 times. It has an old fashioned cellar that stays about 56 degrees year 'round.

What makes this property unique

The back deck has most recently been upgraded and has a sun/wind shade structure for relaxing in the beautiful outdoors.
My art studio/gallery will be up and running in the fall as i begin to teach art classes to home-schooling groups.
