Modern Rustic Lofted A-frame+Spacious Deck+Great Views+Central Heat+Wood Stove

"Cozy and peaceful cabin! Perfect getaway spot with beautiful views and a warm, welcoming vibe. Had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Would definitely come back!"- Karteek, March 2025

"Sway Chalet was the perfect getaway! After looking for the perfect cabin with a view, and a woodstove we found Eunice and the Sway Chalet. Sitting watching the sun filter through the trees, roaring fire and wine after a day of skiing at Bear Valley (only 30 min away...on a dry road) it was the perfect end to a great day.
Kitchen is tiny and well stocked...from the basics to several chefy seasonings and ingredients and tools.
Loft bedroom was such a treat...waking up and looking through the floor to ceiling windows into the trees was so cool.

Took a walk to the Lube Room Saloon, about .5 mile down the hill. Gret dive bar and food, outdoor seating.
General store is .5mile in the other direction and has the basics, everything you might have forgotten.

Make sure to read the welcome emails so you know how to turn on the water and use the digital locks

Thank you Sway team, we'll be back!"- Chris W, Feb 2025

Get away from it all and find yourself tucked away amongst towering pine trees in this adorable lofted A-frame cabin! Even the most design-oriented guests will be spoiled in this getaway, as the wood stove creates a classic centerpiece for the main room and is backed by floor-to ceiling windows that allow an abundance of natural light to flood into the space. Fresh air won't be hard to come by, as a spacious deck awaits with a table set for four to enjoy morning cups of coffee or evening cocktails as the sun goes down. When you work up an appetite after a day of hiking nearby, the full kitchen with well stocked pantry is more than ready to assist in preparing tasty recipes with a full-size fridge, an electric stove/oven, and a microwave oven. Or if you'd like there is a gas grill available. Plus, the free WiFi and flatscreen TV will be perfect for entertaining. Though this home is perfectly secluded to give you some much needed privacy, you will have easy access to Highway 4, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, North Fork of Stanislaus River, Bear Valley Ski Resort, and several snow parks. It is walkable to The Lube Room Pub, and Camp Connell General Store. Arnold, Murphy's, and Avery are few miles downhill for groceries, restaurants, wineries, breweries, tasting rooms, and outdoor equipments stores.

Ski weekend!

It was so great to have a cozy place close to Bear Valley to turn a ski day into a ski weekend. The wood stove and efficient kitchen made staying warm and cooking meals easy and fun. Loved it.

Cozy little cabin in between Arnold and Bear Valley

Chose this cabin because I love the classic, cozy A-frame style, and I wanted to be in between groceries (Arnold) and skiing (Bear Valley). The large front window, wood-burning stove, cozy blankets, clean and modern bathroom, and upstairs bedroom were the highlights. The kitchen is tiny and has few outlets but it was fine in the end for what we needed, and served its purpose. I just wouldn’t plan on making any complicated meals here.

Quiet getaway with a marvelous view

Cozy little cabin in a private spot but not too far away from people. Has all the necessary basics and more. We truly enjoyed the wood burning stove - it warms up the place in no time while adding to the atmosphere.

Perfect mountain getaway!

The Sway Chalet was a perfect mountain getaway! The neighborhood was quiet as can be and the cabin was rustic, clean, well-stocked for cooking meals, and firewood was well stocked to enjoy fires in the livingroom with the fireplace/stove. WiFi was excellent and Apple TV was a nice touch for entertainment. The floor to ceiling windows looking out on the forest were awesome, and the deck outside of the windows was good sized with a nice table and chairs to enjoy meals at. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is 5 minutes away, so it was nice having that so close by to go on a hike. The host, Eunice was very responsive with any questions I had, and the cabin was very easy to find despite the GPS in my car not working. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!

Lovely well appointed A-Frame

The Cabin is easy to access, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. I cant think of one thing that we needed that wasn't there. The host was available and more than responsive. Really a pleasure to deal with. The cabin is super convenient to Groceries, High Speed Electric Car Charging, Calaveras Big Trees and the Stanislaus River. It is a great stay.

Beautiful Private A-Frame Cabin

It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including spices for our steaks that we grilled on the patio grill. Comfy beds and sofas. Beautiful patio over looking the snow covered hill and trees. Only a few mins away from local stores, restaurants, bars, hiking trails, off-road trails, hiking, and Big Trees State Park! We had a great time!

What a treat!

Thanks to Eunice and Sean and the Sway Chalet for a most enjoyable experience in this forest of Big Trees in Camp Connell. I had a fabulous 6 day stay and really, really enjoyed the mountain biking and natural world experiences here. I also really enjoyed the Chalet and it’s quiet soothing experience. The house is quite charming and full of nice little touches. The kitchen is really well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, spices, etc. Spent many hours out on the deck and the front seating area and even added a new bird to my list - a Hermit warbler. Massive ancient trees, a really cool Chalet and a new species - you can’t beat that!

Best Cabin Stay!!!

My family and I had one of the most amazing vacations here at this Cabin. We felt so comfortable here that we never wanted to leave. We BBQ almost every night, had an evening glass of wine next to the fire place while playing provided games. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise on a very spacious deck that looks out at some of the most beautiful views and smell of the forest. The internet was fast and great for work. Large tv in the living room was great for the kids. There was spices and plenty of cookware. We really loved this place. It was clean and cozy. Thank you for great memories. We will be coming back to this Cabin.

Perfectly clean and cozy tree house

This was a great retreat spot for me! Wifi was strong so I could work in the morning and then hop down the street to explore Big Trees in the afternoon. I loved being nestled in the trees and the place had everything I needed. I especially appreciated the multiple AC units. Eunice was an excellent host and made the whole process very easy. I hope to come back again!

Great Getaway

My wife and I loved the cabin. We stayed to nights on our trip from Texas. We went to Big Trees one day and to Yosemite the next which are both amazing. The area is secluded and perfect for a couple. They surrounding small towns are nice and have plenty of food choices or grocery stores. We will be back soon!!!!

amazing spot, good cabin

We spent a lovely two nights at Eunice's cabin. The view from the main floor out onto the trees is truly amazing. It feels private and enchanted. We did a nice easy day hike out in Big Trees State Forest, which was fantastic. The sequoias are breathtaking. Great value, recommend.
