A spot of rest along life's busy road. Stop at the Wayside to slow down, simplify and savor the rural beauty of Alaska. The cabin is a former playhouse made from mostly reclaimed materials. As a former playhouse, it has a very steep ladder to the sleeping area, with a distant view of the bay and mountains. There is no plumping ( no kitchen or indoor bathroom.) An outhouse is located behind the cabin - even it was moved and updated. There is a propane fire pit as well as an electric tea pot for heating water. The tiny cabin is located just off East End Road in the Fritz Creek area, 8.5 miles East of Homer, Alaska. We hope to add a second rental with indoor plumbing and small kitchen, by mid summer of 2024.

Perfect setting for a special trip with little ones
Every year I take a road trip with my two daughters (3 and 5 years old this year) somewhere outside of our hometown of Seward. Homer has been our favorite destination over the past few summers, but this was our best trip yet. We LOVED this tiny “fairy house”. The garden and horses on the property made us feel like we stepped into a fairytale. We read stories (beautiful children’s books provided by Toni) for hours on rainy evenings snuggled up in the loft. We picked fresh berries in the garden. We sipped tea on the steps and ate watermelon at the picnic table outside. We love Homer, but Toni’s tiny home made this trip extra special. We hope to return again and again.
