About this property

Tranquil home with Bay views, screened-in porch, and wonderful sunset views.

Peaceful, unspoiled, and uncrowded— a holiday at Sweet Nancy’s Bay House is like staying in your own private nature preserve. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has the feel of a cozy and rustic cabin in the leafy green tropical forest, yet with tranquil bay waters right outside your door. It’s the best of both worlds and a true treat for nature lovers.

Enter Sweet Nancy’s up a flight of stairs and onto the open front porch. There’s a gas grill here and a dining table that’s perfect for grilling up your fresh catch of the day. The front facade of Sweet Nancy’s also has a screened-in porch and a small laundry area. Inside, the open-concept floor plan includes an updated kitchen with a convenient peninsula bar, a dining table with room for everyone, and a cozy living space with a flatscreen television that’s ideal for family movie nights with a bowl of popcorn.

Sweet Nancy’s Bay House has two bedrooms and sleeps six people.

First Bedroom- Main Floor
This room has a king-sized bed and french doors that leads out to the back deck and the bay beyond. A full bathroom with a soaking tub and a separate step-in shower can be accessed from the hallway.

Second Bedroom- Main Floor
Located at the front of the home, this bedroom features a bunk bed with a full-sized bed on the bottom and a twin-sized bed on the top. Another bed in this room is twin-sized, allowing four people to sleep here. This room also has a full en suite bathroom.

Chances are, you’ll find you spend most of your time at Sweet Nancy’s on the spacious back deck. The large green den porch is decked out with comfy furniture including a sleeper swing, so you’ll linger here often. It’s an ideal spot to slip off your flip flops, feel the gentle offshore breezes, listen to the eclectic coastal birdsong, savor a glass of wine, enjoy a good book, or simply relax on the swinging day bed and catch a catnap.

A screen door off the back deck will take you outside to a sandy path in the seagrass. Follow the path down to a private boardwalk that leads out to a dock in the bay. The unique ecosystem of the bay is like walking into your own private aquarium. Discover starfish, sand dollars, or scallops in the tides. Watch the entertaining pelicans dive for their dinner. Hop in a kayak and keep an eye out for stingrays and sea turtles. Grab your fishing pole and catch some sea trout, kingfish, or flounder for dinner.

When you want to head out and experience the local flavor, some of the area’s best restaurants are only a short drive away. All the shops and restaurants offer that classic Cape San Blas old-school charm. Escape to the natural beauty of Sweet Nancy’s Bay House and experience the unspoiled bliss of a holiday on the Cape. Please note* this home is located on marsh land which is wild and natural. Guests should expect to encounter the natural elements such as insects and other wildlife that live nearby. We recommend all guests come prepared with bug spray and water shoes for best enjoyment.

Short but sweet.

House was as described. We left 2 days early due to the poor weather. Location is very secluded. The screened porch was very nice. The noisey pump under the main bedroom made it hard to sleep. The exhaust fan over the stove did not move any air. The gas tank for the grill was out, but weather was poor so we ddnt need it. The provided internet hot spot was very nice and worked flawlesly. Thank you to the owner for letting us bring our dogs. I Would recommened this property,

Private

This house was amazing. We had all the privacy we could ask for. The private dock was a bonus and were we seen alot of Horseshoe Crabs, Stingrays, Hermit Crabs, Fiddler Crabs, etc. Plus, if it's clear at night you can see every star. The beaches are not far at all, and you have multiple options. The house had everything we needed.

Beach vacation

The house was good. The driveway and yard was not so good. Soooo much overgrowth in road had I been in my vehicle I would have not even drove down driveway. Plus needed gravel. Several places my husbands truck bogged down.

Really Great and Unique Property

Sweet Nancy's really was great and I would recommend to other friends and family. The Bay, boardwalk, and screened in porch give you solace from the beach (when you don't want to be at the beach ALL the time.) The kitchenware and kitchen appliances could use some tending to but overall, a great stay!

Getaway

Very secluded. The driveway might only be appropriate for SUVs or vehicles with high clearance. Beach access is not the best. When you are in this house, it feels like your the only one out there, and there is no one else around. Excellent bay view and boardwalk.

Quite Getaway

This was a really nice and relaxing place to stay. It is managed through Natural Retreats so booking through Vrbo ended up costing more than if you book directly through the company. I won't book this through Vrbo next time.

Nice... with a few exceptions

Overall the house is nice. A few key things are missing for a typical beach/bay house however. Little things like an outdoor shower with hot water and ceiling fans for the screened in deck are the first things that come to mind. Also the long gravel drive is easy to miss being that it is sandwiched between a dumpster and old scrap junk salvaged from their other rental houses. Someone should really do something to beautify this area as I was a little confused on how to actually get to the house on the first day. There are also several washed out areas down the gravel drive that should be leveled as our minivan doesn't have much ground clearance and would bottom out if one of the tires fell into these spots. Check in/out was easy despite having altered times of 5p.m. and 9a.m. due to COVID-19 disinfecting. I would have given 5 stars as I'm not usually overly critical in these reviews if not for one major issue. Fleas. I guess a previous renter had an animal with fleas. Still haven't heard back from management regarding a discount for this issue. If you're going to allow guests with animals you have to be prepared to take care of future tenants when stuff like this happens. I will say managememt was quick with getting a bug guy out to the property and after an inspection and confirmation of the problem was going to fumigate the house. But having a kiddo with severe asthma we opted not to and suffered the fleas instead. Ultimately, the bay is beautiful so the house gets 5 stars for location but due to the other issues 3/5 seems like a fair assessment.

Enjoyed the Cape!

This is a beautiful secluded area away from the crowds of some Florida beaches. We had a blast on a fishing trip catching triple tails. We used the vacation gear rental voucher and had bikes and chairs for the beach. Loved the bike trails on and off the main highway. The vacation home is on the bay side and secluded in nature. Be prepared for the creatures of nature and bring mosquito spray. :) The screened-in porch with bed/swing and great view is the best way to enjoy the beauties of the land any time of day. We appreciated the management property as they were helpful with any concerns we had.

9 am checkout is terrible.

9 am checkout is awlful. I understand the later check in because of covid, but you have to consider that people aren’t going out to eat and are doing a lot of cooking so they are bringing extra to cook. We didn’t have tine to eat breakfast and have a cup of coffee. We were up at 7 getting everything organized. That’s 4 hours taken away from us with no discount. I will pay more attention to checkout times from now on. The house was awesome and would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn’t for the 9am checkout. I loved the views and the outside swing. Everything was great and private. We will be back if checkout time is adjusted to 11.
