This is an amazing oasis! The cabin is cozy and is stocked with everything you need. The beds were comfy and very clean. The yard is organized and feels like you are in the mountains. The creek looks amazing and the sound of it running can be heard from the enclosed patio. Our kid ages 2,4,9,and 11 had so much fun racing in the long driveway, climbing the rocks, swinging in the swings, and fishing. Myself and my husband enjoyed the tranquility of the place and the hiking around the property as well as roasting snores and fishing.we will definitely be returning.Doug called the night before and was very kind and informative.
Doug’s Camp was something you would imagine straight out of a book. It is the definition of what you look for in a picture perfect getaway. The host was very polite, attentive, and makes everyone feel at home. We appreciated every minute and look forward to going back!!
ok Doug…time for new pics! your property is gorgeous! Even though house doesn’t look like much from outside, it’s very cabin like and cozy and has everything a renter needs!
But that rock area…..wow wow wow…new pics to show how wonderful
The only complaint we had is that we couldn't stay longer! We were ages 9 to 60 and everyone had a fantastic time and hated to leave! The property manager is wonderful and so very accommodating. If we could give more stars, we would!!
Sit in the swing, look at the view, listen to the water and the worries of the world will slip away. The cabin is homey and comfortable with loads of beds. There is a lot of property to explore. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Don't hesitate..book it!
Camp Doug is THE best VRBO that I have ever stayed at. Each time I do this I spend days in advance running through the list of things to take and this time I get there and Doug has it all. He even took the time to call me in advance to give me specific instructions for locating the property. Aside from the proper provisions on site being perfect, the entire place was extremely clean. If you want a cabin with comfort with a rugged creek this is your place.
It was a great place to enjoy family and relax. The Wi-Fi didn't work but it was better without it because we got to enjoy each other more. The view was amazing and the kiddos enjoyed swimming in the creek.
The driveway to arrive at Camp Doug was beautiful in itself, but after you park and walk around the side of the cabin, the view is just breathtaking. We climbed all over the rocks and even dipped into the running creek to cool off. I enjoyed coffee creekside on the swing and spent the mornings and afternoon birdwatching. The cabin was comfortable and homey. We will definitely go back!
Doug’s cabin is a true gem! If you’re the type that is looking for something adventurous and secluded this is the place. My family and I were highly impressed with the ladescape features, fireplace, and endless adventure outdoors. The drive in from the gate entrance is one of a kind and it only gets better! We enjoyed exploring the creek and sitting around the fire inside and out. The cabin was stocked adequately with everything one spending time in a cabin could wish for. We were very thankful for the variety of supplied firewood. The only thing I would change in the future would be booking this place for more than just two days. My family would come back here in a heartbeat and appreciate the opportunity to stay in such an awesome place!!
This property offers spectacular views and a peaceful surrounding. Basic necessities supplied. 3 bedrooms (2 full beds, 4 bunk beds) 1 small bathroom. Nice sized screened in porch could be utilized during spring, summer, fall as extra sleeping space. Very quiet. Owner was quick to attend to a minor issue. Close to Tishamingo's Ole Red.
LOVED this property! We are currently in a drought so the water wasn’t running, but still a beautiful place to stay. Very private and secluded. Doug was super friendly. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is for cleanliness in the bunk room and under beds… spiders and dust bunnies mainly. All in all though, we loved it and will be back!
