The Farmhouse was such a beautiful, spacious home. It had everything we needed, and communication with the owner was extremely helpful. Staying on Southwest Harbor was so relaxing and peaceful! We hope to come back soon!
We loved staying with our family of 6 on the quiet side of the island. It met all our needs. It was close to street but we noticed most of the properties in the area are. When sleeping it was sometimes loud with cars passing by but we all learned to use fans of the windows were open. The property was attractively decorated and it was a short walk to the town which was small but had a few restaurants and shop
Amazing property! Perfectly located, large, clean, well kept, and with all amenities we needed as a family! Ingrid was a great communicator and the check-in and -out processes were super easy. Will definitely visit again!
Staying in the farmhouse was a wonderful experience - from the well appointed kitchen to the great location, what was not to love. The rooms were all spacious and beds comfortable. The house was a great place to call home while we explored Acadia. The added plus of the washer/dryer was wonderful.
We hope to stay here next year when we come back for our annual friend trip to Acadia.
Very cute farmhouse that is spacious, clean, and well furnished. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds comfortable. Everything needed for a comfortable stay. Host very responsive.
We love all things Acadia, and love being in Southwest Harbor. So this beautiful farmhouse was the perfect location and size for the 5 of us. We enjoyed the grill and eating on the deck, watching a rain storm from the front porch complete with comfy chairs, and slept wonderfully in wonderfully furnished rooms. Thanks so our hosts.
The location to Southwest Harbor and Acadia was great. The rental house accommodations were good for our family. Road noise was disturbing. The rental cost for the week was high.
We were so pleased with our stay at the Farmhouse in Southwest Harbor. It was totally comfortable, updated, and equipped with most everything we needed (minus shampoos/ body wash- but this was advertised) for an enjoyable stay. We appreciated the proximity to a food market (driving distance) and a coffee shop (walking distance). Overall a beautiful and immaculate home with a ton of history. Loved being on the quieter side of Acadia, but just close enough to get everywhere we wanted to go.
This is a beautiful old farmhouse in very good condition, perfect for our extended family trip to Acadia! It's located on the main street in Southwest Harbor within walking distance from a coffee shop and 5-30 min from all Acadia activities and Bar Harbor. The house has some quirks due to being an old farmhouse (uneven floors in places, barn door on bathroom) but overall was extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are surprisingly soundproof, which was great since we were travelling with a toddler and young kids who went to bed while the adults stayed up later.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the most amazing stay at this vacation rental house in Acadia! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the exceptional location, nestled perfectly to capture the stunning beauty of the surroundings. The decorations throughout the house were not only beautiful but also added a touch of warmth and coziness to the entire experience.
The comfort of the beds was truly remarkable – I enjoyed nights of deep, restful sleep, waking up refreshed and ready to explore. Speaking of exploring, the convenience of the location made it incredibly easy to access all the attractions in the area without any hassle.
The hostess was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home from the start. The thoughtful touch of a wine welcome was the perfect way to kick off my vacation and instantly set a positive tone for my entire stay.
All in all, my time at this vacation rental was nothing short of wonderful. The combination of a great location, beautiful decorations, comfortable beds, and the friendly hostess made it an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return for another stay and create more amazing memories. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Four of us, two retired teachers and two educators, who just finished the school year, stayed at The Farmhouse for 3 nights. We wished we booked a longer stay, but we had to make our way back home. We will definitely be back!
As we drove up the driveway, the first thing we noticed was the beautiful covered front porch, which we used in the mornings and evenings. When we walked in the door, it felt like home. It was very clean and very updated. The decor was calming. The furniture was very comfortable. There were two nice size sitting areas, a full bathroom, a nice size dinning room, and a large, well stocked kitchen. There was plenty of room for us to spread out. The backyard also had a sitting area with a fire pit. Very peaceful. One morning we saw a couple of deer in the backyard. There was a beautiful staircase leading upstairs to four bedrooms, three of which were very good size. The fourth bedroom had two twin beds. There also was a full bathroom. The bedrooms had plenty of pillows with pretty quilts and enough dressers for clothes.
We found the location great. We were able to walk to our favorite coffee shop, two blocks away. We could also walk to town.
Ingrid was very hospitable. She sent detailed directions to The Farmhouse, and also for anything that we would need inside. She also left a sheet with directions in the kitchen with brochures and information regarding the surrounding area.
We would highly recommend staying at The Farmhouse.
The house was updated, very clean, beds were new and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishwear, pots, utensils and cleaning supplies. The house was located on the main street which was very convenient but a bit noisy. All in all we had a wonderful 2 week stay and will rent again in the future.
Our family loved this house. It is even more beautiful than the photos show. It was a quick walk to the downtown shops and a very easy drive to everywhere we wanted to go. The front porch was lovely for a meal or drink and to leave shoes post hike so the house stayed clean. It had more than most properties in terms of paper towels, laundry detergent, salt and pepper, etc. The beds were comfortable and the bedding felt high quality and clean. The only caveat is the the road noise is pretty constant. It didn't bother us, but for those looking for a very quiet place, this isn't that. We used the plenty of fans for white noise while sleeping. Also, the house has an attached rental. That was fine for us but with young kids I did feel like I needed to keep them quiet in the early mornings when they wanted to play on the porch. We would definitely return!
