This home hums with history and grandeur and is well cared for as well as lived in (not formal and stuffy). It was the perfect place for my daughters and I to tune into each other for a couple of days as one of them celebrated a birthday while we let the world be 'out there'. We enjoyed the heart of the home (the kitchen), the north porch and the pool this very HOT July! Even the dog fell into the relaxed rhythm, on his first official vacation away from home. We loved it!
Our family stayed at this huge house to celebrate my dad’s 85th birthday. There was plenty of space for 8 adults, 1 teen and two pre-teens. We cooked most of our meals to enjoy together, so the large equipped kitchen was very helpful. We also enjoyed the pool and screened in porch. The house is close to Seneca Falls, although there’s not much there to see or do beyond the Women’s Rights museum and park, which we enjoyed. We took a day trip to Watkins Glen State Park for a gorgeous hike and another to Skaneateles, where we had a wonderful lunch at Doug’s Fish Fry and visited some cute shops. It didn’t matter to us, but note that the lake access is across the road from the house. You’d have to drive over if you plan to SUP.This is a great house for a large group like ours. We loved the peaceful setting and were glad to be able to stay together in one place.
The house is very spacious and located across the street from Cayuga lake and is convenient to Seneca Falls. There is plenty of parking and the pool was a big hit. A few things to note: the upstairs AC couldn’t be adjusted separately, which made it hard to regulate the temperature at night. The home appears to have been an inn at one point, which explains the layout and some of the quirks. The kitchen could be better stocked for large groups (ie, water glasses, utensils). Also, the owner stores some food in the fridge/freezer and the fridge switches to sabbath mode on Saturdays. The fire pit isn’t pleasant to look at, but there were so many bugs out over the weekend that we didn't use it. Despite a few inconveniences, we appreciated the space and had a fun and relaxing time.
This was the perfect place for our bachelorette party. The character of the house was so adorable and the space was perfect for the size of our party. If we ever decide to stay in the area again and need a large home we definitely would book again!
Nine adults stayed here for five days for a family reunion. This historical house worked very well for our group. It has plenty of space for both relaxing on your own and gathering together with the group. The kitchen is very well stocked, and it has lots of room so many people can be prepping meals together. Additionally, the grounds are lovely. We had a wonderful time thanks to the comfort of the house and its convenient location. If we were to return to the area we wouldn't hesitate staying here again.
This house was the perfect fit for our family to include our grown children and their spouses, and 1 Grandchild. There was enough room for everyone to be together, yet each have their own space. We really enjoyed using the pool! The house met all of our needs and we would certainly recommend it!
We enjoyed your home and the setting. Thank you for accommodating our large family group. The street number was off by 10 digits, which led to some confusion that was easily remedied.
This was my second vacation at this spacious home, and I was not disappointed. The home is spotless and everything is there for your convenience. 3 of the bedrooms have attached bathrooms which allowed some privacy for our group. There are many stores down the road if we needed anything - Walmart, Tops, Sauders, etc., yet we were very private on acreage and the home is set back from the road. The pool was extremely clean, the beds are comfortable, and the central air made the home very pleasant on these hot days. If you are thinking of renting this home, do not hesitate to do it!
Your property was the absolute perfect spot for our family to gather for my son’s wedding, at not to far, Ventosa Vineyards. The amount of bedrooms and bathrooms made it so much easier for everyone to have their own space getting ready for wedding rehearsal and on the wedding day. Coming from the Buffalo area, and most of us being big Buffalo Bills fans, the large screen tv in the sprawling living area, made it wonderful for us to watch the Bills win on the first night we checked in. The weather was perfect for a daytime swim in your beautiful pool, and just looking at all the beauty and the history your home has to offer was amazing. Thank you so much for the memories.
Overall, the stay was great and the house was very clean. The owner communicated quickly, but was very disrespectful and rude when I told her we threw out items left in the refrigerator. You would think there would be an empty refrigerator, especially for a house that sleeps 12. The owner became very rude when I said we threw out a few items which we assumed were left from the last guests. We had no idea the owner was living there too.
The house is so nice and big! 6 bed rooms instead of 5 as indicated in the presentation. We stayed at this house for the 70.3 Musselman, witch is about a 20 minutes drive from the race start. A great option with kids.
Chandra was quick to aswer our questions and very helpfull. The pool was nice and clean. Little suggestions to improve the kitchen: add a toaster 4 slides and a set of ustensils (fork, knife, spoon). I recommand it very much!!
This beautiful home has everything! I didn't have to bring anything for my family on our 7-day vacation. The house is extremely clean and the furnishings are lovely. The central air was definitely a plus! The bedrooms are a nice size and we all slept well in the comfortable beds. The property is very private and the gardens are exceptional. We had bonfires and s'mores at the fire pit and swam every day in the huge, clear pool! There is also lake access, so my daughter was able to launch her paddleboard on the lake. We didn't have a problem that needed a call to Chandra, however we did have the pleasure of meeting her and her husband. They are wonderful! I would rent this property again for our next family vacation!
Was looking for a large home with enough bathrooms that a group of five work colleagues could comfortably have their own rooms, comfortable shared space, and most importantly, our own bathrooms. That, this home provided perfectly! The pool area will need some refreshing in the not too distant future, but we enjoyed it on a warm afternoon, and it is well appointed with lounge furniture and outdoor speaker. We found ourselves enjoying the screened in porch each night. Didn't need any additional communication with host, so I can't comment on that. Would recommend for large groups.
This house is a beautifully restored house on 5 acres dating from 1838. We had a family reunion nearby and needed a large house with many bathrooms, a kitchen and common rooms for all of us. This house definitely fit the bill! We had more than enough rooms and bathrooms for all of us, which was a first. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed to prepare meals as well as a breakfast table for 4. The dining room was spacious as were the two sitting rooms. We didn’t feel as if we were crowded together given the size of the spaces. There was also a beautiful outside screened in porch which allowed all of us to sit outside and protected us from bugs. The pool was great on the hot days. The 5 acres of land were beautifully maintained and were fun to walk around. We missed the house when we left and hope to stay there again real soon! Chandra was great to deal with. We called/texted her as needed and she was very quick to respond. I would give 10 stars if I could!
This property is straight out of a story book. The check-in process was very simple and the owner was incredibly responsive. The home was in perfect shape, very clean and tidy. Everyone was blown away with how much space and character the house held. It truly felt like we stayed in our own little world for the weekend.
The turn for the driveway does come up pretty fast, and we had some guests miss it - so drive slow!
Our booking was for a Wine weekend Bachelorette and it couldn't have been more perfect. There was a large power outage in the area that made the house lose power for a few hours on the morning of our second day. This caused the smoke detectors to be a little finicky later that day. But the property owner immediately replied and called me directly and things ended up working out perfectly fine.
The screened in porch with the hammocks was a crowd favorite and it was very serene and relaxing.
I cannot recommend this property enough for any type of event or stay. Hopefully one day we can visit again because we loved it. :)
The property was perfect for a large group get together. There was enough room for people to get together or do their own thing if needed. House was well equipped with everything needed, and was comfortable and cozy!
This home was well equipped with plenty of room for four couples to have their own space. The porch was fabulous fir late night relaxing watching the stars.
Very beautiful house with lots of places to spread out
Close to the lake, great biking

I live part time in the Finger Lakes Region and part time in Greene New York. I like to do vacation rentals and have been doing it for more the twenty years. I always use vacation rentals when I travel as well because I think it is a fun experience for both the host and the guest. Currently I am retired so guests can get my full attention.
Why they chose this property
This property is a historic 1838 house that my husband and I restored and I love to have people come and enjoy it in all it's beauty. It is in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region and wine trails. The Women's Hall of Fame is minutes away and so is Cayuga Lake. Ithaca is a thirty minutes drive away. Montezuma wildlife Refuge is less than ten minutes away if you are interested in nature and birds.
What makes this property unique
Our property is great for family reunions, bridal showers and large group gatherings. It is huge and even when there is a large group everyone seems to have their privacy. The inground pool is a huge bonus for hot summer days.
