Great family vacation

The property was perfect for an extended weekend getaway with the family. We enjoyed the pool, the house, the game room in the garage and even saw some dolphins in the river. It was a great trip and I can't wait to try and book this location again in the future.

Gorgeous views

We had a wonderful time at this home on the sound. We brought out 2 dogs and the yard was huge they could run and really enjoy the outside. The property offered everything to make our stay perfect. Excellent communication with the owner and a very simple check in. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Unwind and relax

Perfect place to get away and relax with the family. The pool and lake were the perfect place to cool off. The large fenced in yard was great for the dogs to run around in. Watching the sunsets, sunrises and dolphins from the dock were just what we all needed.

Wonderful

Loved our stay at Little River Cottage. Host was very communicative, checking in after a storm to make sure we were okay. Loved the private boat ramp. Cottage is pet friendly is a plus. House was clean and well stocked.

Wonderful quiet waterfront cottage

This cottage was amazing. Fishing, swimming, boating, games...there is never a lack for things to do here. The dogs LOVED running around freely in the yard and the kids enjoyed all the activities. Highly recommend.

Relaxing and beautiful

Our family of 5 enjoyed staying at Shannon's home. The pool was great and the amenities (kayaks, canoes, pool table) were great. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the view. Our dogs loved having such a huge fenced in yard to run in as well. They absolutely loved barking at the geese as they flew by. Be on the look out for jumping fish. I didn't know fish jumped out of the water like that and it was a sight to see. Great vacation!

It Has It All

Our family enjoyed our week stay at this house. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. There was so much there to from swimming and fishing to board games. The house is definitely as advertised! We recommend this to everyone!! We hope to stay again.

Wonderful!

House was clean and comfortable; enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the river. Dock, crab traps, fishing, kayaks, canoes all added to the fun. We enjoyed watching the ospreys feed their young and defend their nest from a bald eagle. And kids enjoyed the game room on rainy days. Highly recommend!

Relaxing On The River

We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Caught a couple fish with the fishing gear provided. Caught a crab with one of the crab traps. Had a blast with the kayaks and canoe. We also got to watch the young eagles take their first flight! Even when it rained, the game room provided lots of fun. The property was very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. Hosts were very easy to contact and it was a pleasure to interact with them.

Cute Getaway

Cute house fit our quick getaway. This was a new area for us to explore. Home had everything we needed and expected from description and other reviews. Some things like having shade at pool, larger kitchen, and the home so close to water with screened in porch was even better than expected. Kitty Hawk was about 1 hr 20 min drive. We also visited the great dismal swamp which was very beautiful. Didn’t catch fish from house but did get lots of crabs and saw several dolphins on last day. Would recommend home to anyone visiting this area..

Perfect!

Everything was as described and as shown in the photos. The setting was absolutely gorgeous and so quiet. My family and I enjoyed most of the amenities provided and couldn't ask for a more relaxing and peaceful vacation. We were here too early in the season to enjoy much in the way of fishing and crabbing, but we saw two river otters and watched a pair of nesting Osprey. Thanks for having us!

Paradise Visited

The entire visit was absolutely outstanding in every aspect. The owner's are great and go out of their way to ensure that everyone is pleased. I have used VRBO for many stays and this house has been the best by far. Cleanliness is high on my list and the house was spotless. The house, amenities, pool and view is an A+++++. Tranquil Surroundings

This property offers all the necessary amenities-swimming pool and an extensive array of non-motorized water toys for a very peaceful and restful stay. This property is the only waterfront property in our area with a pool! We have a dock to enjoy the morning sunset, a private boat ramp on the property for you to use kayaks or canoes, a game room to enjoy with your family and a large yard for a meal on the grill or corn hole. On a good day you can even see the dolphins swim by!
