Coastal Del Mar studio with fabulous views - 10 min walk to the beach!

This newly renovated studio apartment has gorgeous panoramic views of Torrey Pines State Reserve, Peñasquitos Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy the scenery from your windows, private balcony, and large deck. Located in a residential neighborhood, it's a short walk to a coffee shop, 4 restaurants, and Torrey Pines State Beach. Nearby Torrey Pines State Reserve has miles of trails. for every ability. Drive 2 miles north to the seaside village of Del Mar or hop on the I-5 or 56 freeways to easily access within minutes all that beautiful San Diego has to offer.

The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

Although our setting is generally very tranquil, there are noises out of our control that we would like you to be aware of. Monday mornings the trash pickup is at 7:00 am; trains occasionally traverse the Peñasquitos Lagoon valley and sometimes aircraft from MiraMar Airbase stray from their normal flight path. All these occurrences are commonplace in coastal Del Mar; we hope they won't impact your stay with us.

Three Great Weeks in Del Mar

Carol and Paul were excellent hosts. They went out of their way to help us in many ways, which we appreciated, as we were new to the area.The unit was also well-equipped. The location was very walkable to coffee, a few restaurants and, though a bit farther, to the central area of Del Mar and its amenities. And still it was near enough to the rest of San Diego. We would definitely stay there again.

We loved everything about our 30 day stay. The studio offered great views, a comfortable bed, multiple patios and a well equipped kitchenette. It is clean and well maintained. Carol and Paul are the most gracious hosts ever! We hope to return soon.

Quite gem

The studio was such a great retreat. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked for the times we wanted to make our own meals. The patio was nicely appointed with lounge chairs, chairs and a fire pit. We walked to the beach and to the local eateries that were very good.

Del Mar Delight Delivers

We loved this cozy little nest. The suite is very well outfitted with everything we needed for an enjoyable 12 day stay. We really appreciated the orientation guide and the use of the State Parks Pass. Carol and Paul were friendly, and it was a pleasure to chat with them. The location gave us great access to hikes, beaches, and a fine selection of local restaurants. The bed was super comfortable. We would be delighted to stay there again.

Sunsets on the Terraces

Our hosts were incredibly hospitable and helpful! The property itself had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and wonderful visit. The outdoor terraces provided beautiful sunset views of the Pacific and Torrey Pines State Reserve along with easy access to the beaches and hiking in the Reserve.The studio's close proximity to Bird Rock coffee, Roberto's and of course the towns of Del Mar and La Jolla also make this an ideal location for a relaxing getaway.

Great stay at Del Mar CA.

Great stay in a fantastic location. Property just minutes from the beach as well as incredible walks on top of Torrey Pines . There are 2 balconies, one with a few chairs and umbrellas. The other with a table and a couple of chairs with a great view where we ate breakfast every day. The hosts, Carol and Paul (lovely people) have outfitted the condo with everything one would need. In addition, as a cyclist, I found a protected bike trail less than a 1/2 mile from the property that goes a significant distance with a lot of spur trails to explore.

Great Studio Apt.

Really enjoyed our stay at this clean, cozy, airy property. Very convenient to the beach, restaurants Torrey Pines, etc. Apartment has pretty much everything needed for a comfortable stay. Carol is a wonderful host, one of the best I’ve encountered in my VRBO stays. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place for 1 or 2 people.

Fantastic place and best host

The place is impeccable, everything you can possibly need is there for you in this adorable apartment. Carol is a top notch host. The views are gorgeous. Great food options are around the corner. We travel a lot but this place is definitely in top of our list now. We can't wait to come back.

Wonderful Experience and Gracious Host

We stayed at the Coastal Del Mar studio for nine days. The unit is very well situated near the Torrey Pines State Park, and we found the place well furnished and sparkly clean when we arrived. The unit included all the amenities that we could imagine, and even some that we could not have imagined (like the white noise box to ensure that we sleep like babies!). Carol and Paul are very warm, gracious and helpful hosts, and meeting them made our stay extra special. They provided a pass to the Torrey Pine State park which we used on several occasion during our stay. Carol also provided a detailed booklet with information on their condo as well as places of interest in the area. We highly recommend this place for anyone who is visiting this area.

Beautiful views, close to it all!

Have to say my wife and I were pretty dismayed at the selection of properties available in San Diego, then we looked just a little further afield and found this absolute gem of a property in Del Mar - just a few minutes up I-5! The studio was perfectly located in the quiet but gorgeous Del Mar, just a short walk to an incredible beach and a short drive to anything and everything going on in San Diego. We were able to explore beautiful nearby Torrey Pines State Park with the park pass the owners lent to us, and were steps away from a great New York style pizza place and local burrito/taco stand. The apartment itself was perfect and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a nice secluded guest apartment at Carol and Paul’s beautiful home - separate from the main house and with its own entrance, it was perfectly private, but with probably the best views of the whole place! Wish we had made more use of the separate terrace! Our hosts were extremely accommodating and accessible, and met all our impromptu needs. Can’t say enough good things about our stay with Carol and Paul!

Wonderful!

The place was perfect. There was so much thought that went into the set up - I wanted for nothing. The bed is super comfy - the kitchen / bathroom is so well stocked with essentials and more. It had everything. Carol & Paul are delightful host. Amazing communication and beyond kind. They made the stay even better! The place is perfectly located near Torrey Pines Beach - I walked to Del Mar a couple of times - a few miles with ocean views. Close to the highway. If a small place will work for you - it is absolutely perfect! I couldn’t recommend it more! They go out of their way to make sure your stay is a great one! I will stay again!
