About this property

Rustic Tennessee Farmhouse on 100 acres of land

Our 80 year old home is nestled on a 100 acre farm. The house is comfortable but, not fancy.
There is a wrap around porch where you can enjoy sitting in a swing or rocker while watching deer, blue birds and sometimes wild turkeys.
It's quiet here. The frogs and birds are making most of the noise. If you have the heart to write or enjoy drawing/painting there are adequate tables in the house for writing and art tables along the porch outside under the roof.
There is a primitive hiking trail behind the house that leads to a quiet forrest with various trees and Tennesse boulders. A pond sits behind the house full of frogs and turtles and stocked with fish for your catch and release pleasures. Wild blackberries hug the side of the pond ready for picking in late summer. They are quite tart so be prepared to pucker or add sweetener!
In the summer heat we swim in an above ground pool and rest on the large deck around the pool. Some days we play in the creek and watch the crawdads and minnows float under the rocks. On a summer night you will be amazed by the fire flies and see more constellations than you can count!
We enjoy fans and cross breezes through the window screens for comfort in the summer. There is one window AC unit in the largest of the bedrooms and ceiling fans in the living room and dining area.
In the winter we heat with a wood stove and gas heaters. Electric blankets are on the beds. We enjoy the benefits of a dry sauna heated by a wood stove on the coldest days.
If you are looking for a high tech property or the latest and greatest of amenities our place may not be for you.
We do have indoor plumbing, electricity, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer , a 55" TV screen and wifi.
Peace and quiet are the main amenities!

Disappointing

Mice droppings were in all the beds. Also fresh crusty blood spots on several pillow cases and soaked through to pillows. M&Ms in a bed too. Obviously unwashed bedding. Our food and containers had fresh mouse droppings on them. Survived by using our own things as much as possible. For so much a night to stay there, it was very disappointing!! When reaching out to owner to see if she’d make things right, she was totally unwilling. One thing I did appreciate is, we left an item there accidentally, and she put it out on the porch for us to retrieve. Thankful for that.
