We arrived at the cabbage on February 2, 2025 and regret that we had to check out today! We could stay weeks! We have had a spectacular visit. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and tastefully decorated! Everything has been thoroughly selected for the space and for ease of use. The windows allow visitors to experience views of the snow covered surroundings and the constant fire in the gas fireplace adds warmth and ambience. We will remember this visit with great fondness, and we are thankful to the hostess for creating and sharing the special place.
I brought my husband on a work trip with me, and this spot was perfect to turn it into a weekend getaway. It had everything thing we needed to be cozy and comfortable for a few days.
We enjoyed this cozy little home. It was the perfect stayaction for us. It was only a 2 hour drive but far enough to enjoy some alone time. Spent time watching the squirrels in the morning and watching some movies together. Thank you!
My girls and I had so much fun on our stay at the Cabbage! We wanted a quiet, relaxing getaway which is exactly what we got! We spent our nights inside playing games and making vision boards for the new year. We also ordered take out from the local pizza place which was also a 10/10. I’m hoping to book this place in years to come for more cozy winter weekend getaways.
We came up for a quiet retreat after a busy work season, and The Cabbage was perfect! We were able to sit by the fire, play games, do a puzzle, and read. We had a great time, and we had everything we needed for a long weekend.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The Cabbage is lovely, rustic, but well equipped and well decorated. We did not come across anything we needed that wasn’t there. A few things of note for the planning purposes of other travelers. The walls are very thin between bedrooms, as in wood slats that aren’t all tightly fitted (original I assume). There is no stove. There is another cabin fairly close on one side, and woods behind and on other side of cabin, and the backyard is pretty private overall. The cabin is across the road from the lake, and there are also houses on the other side of the road, so the picture out the front window on the listing is maybe old, because you are looking out at houses with the lake behind them. None of these were issues for us, we used the toaster oven and microwave and there is a hot plate. Lots of extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. I was impressed with the level of thought put into what’s there and where it’s located. The info book is well put together and can easily be referred to for most questions regarding how to control heat, etc. We would recommend and return!

Beautiful cabin. Stunning, cozy aesthetic. Clean. Basics are provided in terms of dishes, silverware, toiletries, which is much appreciated. Fireplace sets a lovely vibe. Comfy bed. Nice location, in the sense it's quiet and private. Property owner did a good job answering my questions. Wonderful place resulting in a fantastic stay.
The Cabbage was so cute!!! We enjoyed our stay. The only things that could have made it better was a washer/dryer (I understand the space limitations) and a blind on the back door. Jeri Jo was a wonderful hostess!
Lovely little cottage..very modern and comfortable. Everything you need for a few days.
Would like easier lake access and nicer lake but the accommodations were great!
My husband and I spent a weekend. Everything went well. The space is small but cozy. The kitchen is well supplied. Just as a heads up, the fridge is small anz
This was the perfect place for my family to unwind together. We went on daily walks around the lake, enjoyed family games and watched some movies together. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

We loved our stay at the Cabbage. The property was exactly as described and had everything we needed for our weekend away. We only wished that we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend!
Stayed at several before and have been on the hosting side of rentals. This was done eloquently. Lots of what we needed visiting from out of town by airplane.
Very clean.
Very quaint and well done. All the details were considered.
Thanks for the chance to use your property to get away!
My family enjoyed our stay. Very quiet private area. Beautiful views. Bunch of little frogs outside, very fun for kids to look at. House very cozy and clean. We would love to come back
My family had a wonderful stay here. The house had the basics we needed, but had a great camping feel. The property was great, with a grill and a firepit. The lake also had great fishing!

Why they chose this property
The area the Cabbage sits is very quiet. Many neighbors are year rounders. The location is convenient to Clare's Antique shops ( closed on Mondays) About 20 Minutes north you can rent kayaks and canoes on the Muskegon River. The Pere Marquette Rail trail is near , and great for biking in the spring, summer, and fall, or snowmobiling in the Winter. There is lots of hunting land in the surrounding area. While the Cabin was meant to be seasonal the gas fireplace keeps it nice and warm in the winter.
