The rental was very clean, comfortable, affordable and a great value.
We stayed for a week in this half-duplex in Stanton, KY, and found it to be a great home base for exploring the Red River Gorge and spending a day in Lexington. The house was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with extras like soap, laundry detergent, spices, ketchup, coffee, filters, TP—little touches that made our stay easier. Beds were comfortable and the towels were thick and fluffy.A big bonus was the Kroger grocery store a short walk away—something we didn’t find in the other towns near this part of the Gorge. The hosts even included a Kroger membership card on the keychain so we could get store discounts, which was a thoughtful detail.Working with the host was great—everything went smoothly. The neighborhood isn’t touristy, and while some nearby homes looked a bit run-down, we always felt safe and had no issues. Our favorite restaurants in the area, in order, were: Toad's Barn & Grill, Miguel's Pizza, Mi Finca (Mexican restaurant in Stanton), Thatcher's BBQOur favorite hikes were: Creation Falls, a short, easy hike great for kids, with a beautiful arch/natural bridge and a waterfall Double Arch, Courthouse Rock, and Auxier Ridge Loop, a longer, more challenging hike with incredible views, not suitable for young kidsWe also did the Crystal Kayaks at the Gorge Underground which was awesome and the Aviation Museum of Kentucky-also awesome. The rental was very affordable and a great value. We’d definitely stay here again.
