Detailed Description of The Black Wolf Lodge

When walking into The Black Wolf Lodge, you enter the great room with a wall of windows looking at the yard and open space below. The great room has seating to gather for a visit that vaults to an open air loft up the stairs. The great room is open that connects to the dining and kitchen area.

The dining area has a table that seats six. The large island in the kitchen has 3 additional stools for seating. The kitchen comes ready to use with a refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, pots, pans, and dishes and flatware.

The master bedroom is also located on the first floor with it's on ensuite. The bedroom features a king bed, TV, and electric fireplace available for use year round. The bathroom has double sinks, shower, jetted tub, and a separate door for the toilet.

In the hall across the bedroom is a half power bath that also contains a full sized washer and dryer area.

Inside the entrance of the cabin are the stairs to the loft and 2 additional bedrooms. The loft is a game room that features a table top 2 player multicade arcade system , shuffleboard (with mini bowling), and a pool table. TV with recliners and extra seating makes it a great place to hang out to have some fun.

Each bedroom upstairs has a king sized bed and TV in each room. The bathroom between them has a tub / shower combo.

The back porch area of the cabin has a large hot tub and rocking chairs to sit and relax. A lower deck with seating and cornhole with the covered porch. Step down the stairs to the yard where a wood burning firepit is available, with a Traeger Pellet Grill and custom picnic table with plenty of seating!

The Black Wolf Lodge is a rare treat in the Smokies with a walk behind the cabin to a flat area with a yard that has a grill and picnic table for grilling, an outdoor swing, and a creek that flows with rain at the back of the property.

The Black Wolf Lodge is in a semi private setting. Other cabins are around, but the neighborhood offers plenty of space between each building that you feel like no one is around (especially in the summer when the trees are filled in).

For added security, The Black Wolf Lodge has security cameras positioned on the outside looking into the yard on all sides of the cabin, with an additional camera pointed at the driveway, to ensure the safety of guests and the property while vacant.

Fantastic Cabin!

My family absolutely loved this cabin. The cabin is located in a serene area, and the neighbors are located far enough away to have plenty of privacy. We also loved the spacious and usable outdoor area around the cabin. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Family Cabin

We enjoyed our stay so much! The cabin was clean & well equipped. Our sons had the best time with the game room and cornhole. They have been talking about the cabin non stop since we left ... So glad we were able to reserve this property for a vacation that our kids will always remember!

Secluded, yet close to everything!

This cabin was gorgeous and very well maintained! There is plenty of space for the whole family and so many extra amenities like extra pots and pans, towels, and blankets that other places skimpt out on. We had a great time making smores by the campfire and playing games with the family. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. The hot tub was the perfect temperature for an evening soak. Master bathroom had a great jetted tub as well. We didn't see any bears but did see a lovely flock of wild turkeys.

Great Place To Stay

The cabin was just as gorgeous as the pictures. Location was close to town but felt fairly secluded even though there were other cabins in the neighborhood. Sitting around the fire pit at night was a great way to end a busy day for the whole family. The host was great and quickly responded to texts. There was a nice snack basket provided complete with everything needed to make s’mores. The beds were so comfortable my daughter wants to get one just like it for her house. Would definitely stay here next time we visit the area.

Memorial

We traveled to Tennessee to scatter my parents ashes in Cades cove. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and our host was wonderful. We were unable to enjoy the fire pit only because of high wind warnings or rain. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend the cabin. The kitchen had everything you could imagine

Well worth it.

The property was very accurately described and well cared for. Tom (caretaker) kept in communication with us and was available when needed. The house is spacious, close to town while also in the mountains, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Spacious, gorgeous cabin close to all the attractions

Beautiful high-end rustic furniture and art add to the idyllic mountain ambiance of this spacious, comfortable cabin. The owners' attention to detail was impressive. With a hot tub on the back porch, a pool table and other games upstairs, and a fire pit and grill downstairs, there were plenty of ways to relax and have fun. Thomas was super responsive, and self check-in was fast and easy. The basket of popcorn and makings for s'mores on the counter was a really nice welcome touch. We spent a week there driving to the Smoky Mountains, the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attractions, and Knoxville and found it very conveniently located. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Cabin!

This cabin was "as advertised". Beautiful, clean and comfortable. The only negative was that they didn't supply any bears. Our last cabin had a bear walk right up the driveway. Oh well, you can't have everything! This cabin had everything you could want. And they did the little things that you typically don't see at most cabins. There was a Smores kit on the kitchen counter! And many other things you don't typically get from cabin rentals. The decor in the cabin was also amazing. Carved art on the walls, beautiful taxidermy, WiFi and great TV service from Xfinity. It was a pleasure to pretend this was our home for a week. We will return.

Smoky Mountain Vacation

As we approached the property, we could see the deep lay of the land was beautiful, clean and manicured. The expressive carved door of bears ushered the anticipation of the big reveal. We entered an inviting and comfortable atmosphere with the temperature already set to our liking, the warm welcome of lights on in each room to behold its rustic beauty and to get acquainted with the layout. The blinds were opened to captivate the stunning view and remind us why we chose this particular place. There was a welcome basket of treats and s’mores for use with the newly-built beautifully landscaped fire pit. A thoughtful notebook of safety tips, cabin information and suggestions for places to experience was left for our review. We liked the convenience and distance to our destinations, and if staying in was the order of the day, there was plenty to do. Hot tub on the first deck, and a game/video room up in the loft with a pool table and other activities. And with our lingered stay, a washer and dryer for our convenience was a nice touch for the occasional load of laundry—that with these extras, staying longer in the mountains would be so easy! With such a beautiful cabin and amenities we did not feel like we were missing out by staying in. Communication with the manager was prompt, courteous, and professional, meeting our specific needs for our stay. We were very pleased and would consider renting from same management. The only thing better would be to experience a Tennessee X-mas

About the host

Hosted by Thomas Crum

Host profile image
Thomas Crum has been managing properties around the Smokies for almost 10 years now, and is the point of contact for your stay! After working in a corporate setting for his career, he discovered the tranquility of the Smokies and made this his full time home.

The owners of this property, the Lewis Family, recently purchased the property as a place for their family to use as a vacation destination to enjoy the Smokies throughout the year. When they do not use it themselves, they like to share their home with folks who are looking to share in the experiences that they have enjoyed here!

Why they chose this property

This home was a rare find in the Smokies! The wall of windows and the large open concept great room was a must have for them as they like to visit with each other and have a lot of laughs. The game room area was a must have for their kid and grandkids to have an area to play and have fun!

What truly makes The Black Wolf Lodge a rare find was the yard. So many cabins in the area are cliffhangers or have no usable area other than the cabin. While the cabin does sit on a steep hill on one side, going around the back of the cabin brings you to a flat area that has room for kids and adults to play and relax.

So few properties in Sevier County and the area around the Smokies offer this type of a setting, making the home something unique and special with something for everyone!
