Items to improve

Overall this home is good. The cold handle in main bedroom shower is broken and needs replacement, the screw is probably stripped. The ants in in the same bathroom swarm if anything is on the counter or basin such as a tiny drop of toothpaste was enough to bring them in. The little bate trap is not enough to control them. the same bathroom

Summer fun made easy!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The home is well appointed, with plenty of towels and even beach toys available. The location made adventuring easy and we loved the nearby beaches- Happy Camp was easily accessible for my mom who has limited mobility. Oceanside beach had hours of fun for exploring, kite flying and agate collecting. Being just 5 minutes from home base made everything feel so simple. Comfy beds, plenty of room for dining and everything we needed to prepare meals each night. We would return in a heartbeat and hope to be able to do so.

Not the Cleanest

As soon as we walked into the house, we were hit with an overwhelming odor and needed to air out the house and I was going to buy air freshener. The rest of the house seemed okay, but as we settled in, we found more and more things that were not clean: dead bugs in the bathtub, sticky residue on the hall bathroom counter, piles of hair on the floor. Pet hair covered the couches, was in the bedding, and in the towels to the point where if you tried to dry yourself the hair was left on your skin. Then we tried using the kitchen. We ran dishes through the dishwasher and the dishes were visibly dirtier than when we put them in. We spent the morning washing these ‘clean’ dishes by hand. There was food stuck to the racks in the oven, the kettle was rusted on the inside. At this point, we had spent all night/morning messaging the host, sending pictures, cleaning, and feeling stressed about not getting to enjoy our short vacation, that we needed out. I let the host know that we were not okay with the cleanliness of this property, and told them the specific time we would be leaving after we gathered our things (within an hour, by 12:30pm), and would like a refund for the night that we wouldn’t be staying. The hosts that had been so attentive and responsive previously suddenly stopped responding to me. I’m still trying to contact them about a refund for the night we did not stay. We did not enjoy our stay, and would not go back here.

Nearly perfect for our family of 8

We’ve taken our 6 kids all over the US and stayed in many rentals over the years including dozens of different ones on the Oregon Coast. Doolittle suited our needs very well. It had plenty of room for our large family, a nice collection of family friendly games and movies, plenty of essentials so we didn’t have to run to the market for paper towels or dish soap, and an easy walk to the beach (for us… it is a bit of a jaunt across the not very busy highway and down a few dozen steps). We usually stay in Rockaway or Lincoln City but we decided to split the difference and try Netarts this time and we would totally come back. We loved the waveless beach for our little kids and proximity to some of the best clamming on the coast for the big kids. The negatives are nitpicky and honestly weren’t big issues for us, but they might be for others so… First, this is a manufactured home and the foundation is pretty bad. When we first entered it was really noticeably sinking in places and we felt as though we were walking on a cruise ship or something. But we adjusted pretty quickly and it didn’t bother anyone past the first night. Second, I happen to be horribly allergic to cats. We like to travel with our dog so we generally pick places that are pet friendly. Generally that means just “dog friendly” but this place DEFINITELY has had cats. Lots and lots of cats. And though it was visibly very clean, there was cat dander lurking somewhere in large amounts. My allergies were off the hook bad until I took medication. Luckily that helped enough and it was fine overall. And last, the walls were pretty thin and we could hear anything and everything. But overall, it was a great stay and we’d come back.

Good Location

I wasn't going to leave a review because I don't feel complaining is all that productive. I told the Vacasa management the issues but am still getting asked for review...so...This manufactured home is in a great location. I think it is great for a family as well. It is well stocked with kitchen items if you're cooking. The landlords have attended to most every need in terms of items you need for a successful stay. We are long term renters in the Netarts area. We've stayed in far less equipped homes than this one...but at a price point of $721 for two nights I guess I had a little higher expectation in regards to cleanliness. If this property is "professionally managed" then if I owned it I would get new management. What was wrong? Dirty facemask on floor in closet, filthy coffee maker that has not been cleaned anytime recently, bed coverlets had stains on them, several of the window shades were broken and the stench of cigarettes' was overwhelming. All the window sills are moldy and could use a good wipe down with bleach. We just felt nervous staying there and felt we had to wash things before using them given what we kept finding. We actually left in the afternoon of the second day so we left a second night's lodging$$ on the table. Not fun to walk away from $300. But like I said, if cleaning details and functioning house goods are not on your priority list, rent away. It truly is in a good location. It is NOT fenced however so having canines isn't the easiest thing to do there.

Nice stay

The house was in a great location, less than a 5 minute walk from the bay with glimpses of the water. (Schooners Restaurant -a short walk- is not to be missed,) Also close to other small beach towns for day trips, fishing/hiking on the 6, and a reasonable drive to Portland. Lots to do in the area. The house was decent, had all that you needed (a nice touch would have been coffee! We arrived late- but there is a great coffee shop steps from the house!). Beds were comfy, lots of space. It’s an older house and needed to be opened up when we arrived. Some corners, windows, under the beds could have been cleaner. After two weeks of camping it was dreamy! Bathtub was a great addition! Would return if we are in the area!
