THE IMMEDIATE AREA
You are in Downtown Paso Robles! You can walk to the town square where there are dozens of wine tasting rooms, restaurants, shopping and a farmer's market every Saturday morning. Downtown there are over 12 wine tasting rooms, along with a distillery and local craft breweries. The downtown City Park offers free summer concerts from June through August every Thursday night. Pack a picnic basket, a bottle of wine or two, your beach chairs and enjoy local musicians belting out everything from Jazz to Rock and Blues. It’s also just a dozen blocks from the new Paso Market Walk where you can find all sort of gastronomical delights.

PROVISIONS
The nearest grocery store is Albertsons which has an incredible wine selection. It's just over the 1st street bridge. Smart & Final is also a close-by grocer, a dozen blocks away, north on Spring Street. Just a block away is Cregor’s Liquor & Deli that has an impressive deli (their tri-tip sandwiches are to die for) along with a great collection of spirits and beer. Another favorite located just two blocks away is Twisted & Glazed, a unique and delectable donut shop. There's also a Trader Joe's just down the road a bit on Vineyard Drive in Templeton. While at the Trader Joe's you can pick up some fresh caught fish at Pier 46 Fish Market or head on over to the butcher, J&R Meats, for some grass-fed local meats and game. Back up in Paso you can find a few quality cheese shops, Vivant Fine Cheese and Di Raimondos Italian Market and Cheese Shop, along with some cigar shops, Boyd's and Third Base Market & Spirits.

RESTAURANTS
What goes best with wine…FOOD! Paso is packed with great restaurants. Stay a week or two so you can try all of them! Italian, French, Irish, Asian, Mexican, Organic, even Argentinean are just a few. From pizza to 5-course meals, Paso Robles has come of age in its dining options. Some of our favorites in Paso Robles include BL Brasserie, The Hatch, Thomas Hill Organics, Buena Tavola, Fish Gaucho, Street Side Ale House, The Alchemist and Jeffry's Wine Country BBQ. Just a bit to the south, in Templeton, offers a few more options including McPhee's where you can find some of the best wood-fired steaks in town.

ACTIVITIES
Wine, beer and spirits tasting, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, water park, jeep rides, zip-lining, Farmer's Markets, concerts at Vina Robles Amphitheatre, spas, beaches, Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, Cambria...take your pick. There are endless options to play until your heart's content. And don’t miss Paso latest attraction, Sensorio. Designed by artist, Bruce Munro, the “Field of Light” exhibition is a 15-acre walk-through experience through over 58,000 stemmed spheres.

Wine Lovers Dream

The house was as charming as in the pictures! Just on the outskirts of the downtown hub (easy 20-minute walk or 2-minute drive). We spent our days exploring Paso wine country and visiting great restaurants. We rented a car to visit country wineries and Hearst Castle on our own schedule. Enjoyed downtown tasting rooms as well. Appreciated the decanter and plethora of wine glasses at the house for our own tastings after a long day. Can't wait to go back!

This place was lovely. A great spot to relax both in the morning with coffee and at end of a day of tasting, touring and traveling the lovely area. Comfortable, well stocked, and attention to detail provided by the owners made our first trip to wine country even more memorable!

Comfy crafty oak cottage

The house was very comfortable! It had all the amenities listed online and it is a great location. Note that guests are expected to clean up (bath towel washing, beds stripped, garbage taken out, dishes washed, counters and tables wiped down, etc) - a little surprising.

Perfect

Hotel prices were very expensive the weekend we stayed so we decided to rent a home with our friends and we were very glad we did. Home is adorable and clean. Beds were comfortable. Check in process was easy and check out process was easy enough. We enjoyed having the convenience of being able to enjoy each other’s company when we normally would not have been able to if we had stayed in a hotel. Front porch was perfect for morning coffee. We also took advantage of the short walk to town. Overall a great stay!

First Rate

This craftsman home is located in close proximity to the downtown area. We walked to LPC for dinner although chose to drive to our favorite little coffee spot by LXV. It is very nicely outfitted for cooking. The water in the kitchen had more salinity than we preferred even using the Brita that was provided so we opted for bottled water to drink and fill the Keurig. The grill is not in close proximity to the dining room or outdoor eating space as it is down at the bottom of a flight of stairs. It would be nice to have a small cafe table and a couple of chairs placed in the area for the grill master! Ideally, it would be great to have the grill up in the front courtyard to take advantage of the area.

Bay Area Girls

This was our third time visiting Paso for our girls weekend. It did not disappoint. First of all this property is so adorable. Perfect for us. The house is situated close to downtown. It was quiet at night. It's decorated so nice with such interesting tiles. We all loved it. The house is also fully stocked with anything you need. We had fun visiting Booker Winery which was fabulous. Dinner at Thomas Hill Organic (of course) where the people are so nice. We met the owners Mike & Lisa and their adorable son! Such lovely people. And the food was delicious which we knew it would be. Again, not our first time. We have to go every time we are here. We will definitely book our stay with Kathy again. We loved it. Thank you so much.

Cute house —- could improve a few things that could make this a GREAT house

The location was great and close to everything in downtown - walking distance. The house was super cute but there was a few things…… The checkout instructions were A LOT. But based on the previous reviews and comments back from the host the “check out” Instructions were a recommendation not a must so I went off of that - you pretty much cleaned the house after leaving. The sink in the master wouldn’t drain much and would get clogged often. We went on a all girls cousins trip and not having a full length mirror was rough. The brita water in the refrigerator may have a old filter cause it tasted like salt water. But overall I would stay here again just want to point out a few things that could really improve the stay

Quaint & Peaceful

This an adorably restored, modern, and clean Craftsman. Bedrooms are comfortable, bathrooms were both nice, and even had a lighted magnifier mirror. Kitchen is well appointed with thoughtful various incidentals; spices, olive oil, coffee, tea, creamers, etc. My advice would be to add a full length mirror to each bedroom, and not so many hangers in the closet, (I have to move about 50 of them out of the way so that there was room to hang my weekend wardrobe). Great location to downtown, wineries etc. Nice porch for a morning cuppa, but backyard space is minimal. My hubby was a little grumpy about the long list of specific chores at checkout, as he felt we paid good money, and should not have been forced to strip beds, shlep laundry down to the basement, trash duty, and run the washing machine, dishwasher, etc., but we did because that was the rule. Overall this is a quaint, nice little property when staying in Paso Robles. I would stay there again, but hubby wants bed n’ breakfast or nice hotel so we don’t have chores on vacation.
