Don't forget the Caverns, the shops in Luray, and of course, watch Tipper & Russell, Pansy &Petunia (our pekin ducks) swim & preen themselves in the small pond…it's all here, waiting for you. Home Away from Home

The Farmhouse At The Grove offers all the amenities of a modern home with all of the peace and escape of living on a farm. The home is impeccably clean and has every possible amenity you could want. The views out every room are spectacular with sunsets, sunrises, fall, foliage, winter snow, And beautiful picturesque valley and Mountain Views. LIsa‘s hospitality is unmatched. The homemade cookies, firewood, kitties, bunnies, ducks, smores, candles, bubblebath, games - all create memorable experiences. This is our second time staying here. I joked with LIsa that I really don’t want to tell people how nice it is because it’ll make it harder to rent. But she deserves it. This is worth every penny.

Gorgeous, quiet getaway

This was the cleanest property we have ever rented before. Everything was just perfect. Lisa has thought of everything to make her guests comfortable. The mountain sunrise views are stunning and you can see it from the back porch and even the kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with all types of cookware. The waffle maker was a nice surprise. The furniture and beds were comfortable. Check out was smooth and easy. I would highly recommend renting this lovely home for a visit to Luray.

Christmas stay

The property and home are wonderful . The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas which made the house warm and inviting. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals for a large family. Well done and highly recommended.

Wonderful Fall Stay for a Wedding

My extended family stayed at Lisa’s beautifully renovated farmhouse this November for a cousin’s wedding. It is honestly the most relaxing and well maintained house I’ve ever rented. We cooked a full brunch in the kitchen why don’t you get on how to start with your cheeks I need you to chill out chill out or wet or should I change the TV to something you guys wanna watch bog her pants I think he just wants to people

The most perfect wedding ever

I had my (very small) wedding at the farmhouse with our close family and friends and the entire event was amazing and made perfect by the house and by Lisa. I cannot say enough good things about the beautiful property (unbelievably well renovated and comfortable), Lisa's outstanding hospitality and helpfulness, and how incredibly special it was to have our wedding there - a feeling shared and expressed repeatedly by everyone who joined us as well!

Beautiful Home - near Luray and Shenandoah

This was a fabulous home to host our girls weekend. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking, coffee around the cafe table in the kitchen, and games and means at the big dining room table. The property is absolutely beautiful as well, including the porch and firepit and farm animals! The home was spotless and lovely - beds were very comfortable and worked well for our group of 6 women. It is located just a few miles from downtown Luray, and about 30 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Our group also enjoyed the proximity to local wineries. Loved it so much that I'll probably bring my family back someday.

Microwedding at the Farmhouse

We held our microwedding (6 guests, bride and groom) at the farmhouse in October 2024 and had the BEST time. The house is unbelievably beautiful with more creature comforts than you could ever ask for. Three of the four bedrooms have a gas fireplace - cozying up with a book in front of the fire before bed was one of our favorite ways to wind down each night. The kitchen was extremely well equipped (there’s even a double-sided waffle iron) and got heavy usage over the course of the weekend. Many people in our party even commented that they’d love to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the farmhouse kitchen. This is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at, and I’m not just saying that because I got married here. Every detail has been so well thought out, and the scenery is the cherry on top!

Shaffer family Reunion, Luray

We stayed at this unbelievably lovely property to attend an Isaac Spitler descendants family reunion. The property is beyond description, from the lovely restoration, incredible views, and no detail forgotten. Including the note under the kitchen sink, directing us to the dishwasher pods, which were out of reach of small children. Who thinks of that besides your host, Lisa!? The bedrooms were immaculately appointed and created just the privacy we needed for the eight of us. Do not hesitate to book this property if you are looking. Even though we live in Denver, Colorado, we would love to return someday with more time. 5+++stars.

Shenandoah Valley Diamond!

Nestled within the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, our recent stay at Farmhouse at the Grove was nothing short of extraordinary. This beautiful vacation rental combines rustic charm with modern amenities, offering a perfect blend of comfort and serenity. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm hospitality. A platter of freshly baked cookies (baked by the owner’s mom) greeted us upon entering by this lovely home as well as a batch of freshly laid duck eggs (laid by the owner’s adorable ducks, Pansy and Petunia). There were fresh flowers from the property placed in every bathroom. This home is full of loving and welcoming touches everywhere you look! Everything we needed was available for our use while my large family of 8 enjoyed each other’s company for a weekend in this lovely part of the country. My adult children all fell in love with Lisa’s delightful animals, ducks, rabbits and cats. Lisa is a delightful host, who is super quick to respond to any and every question! She was wonderful to deal with! There are not enough superlatives that I can think of to recommend a stay at this spectacular home!

Perfect stay near Shenandoah

We loved our time at the beautiful farmhouse for our family trip to Shenandoah (Old Rag and other hikes). It’s impeccably renovated while maintaining the historic character and only minutes from Luray Caverns. Highlights for the kids (and adults) were the delicious homemade cookies, helping Lisa to feed the bunnies and ducks every day, s’mores in the fire pit and badminton in the back yard. Lisa was a wonderful host and we’re grateful to her for making our stay so special,

Absolutely Fantastic!

The owner has done an amazing job restoring this old farmhouse, to retain all of it's rustic charm, but still have every modern convenience available. The location is perfect - we were truly "out in the country", but realistically only 10 minutes away from supermarkets, restaurants, etc. The area is so beautiful - with easy access to the mountains, as well as the amazing caverns in the area. What a great place!!!!

Amazing stay!

My friends and I (6 of us) stayed at the Farmhouse for a girls weekend and none of us wanted to leave! Everything about the house was perfect! A beautiful, lovingly restored farmhouse, an amazing setting, and gorgeous views from every window! We visited the caverns, did some shopping, horseback riding, and enjoyed a drive on Skyline Drive, along with lots of relaxation time at the house - on the porch, at the fire pit, and in the beautiful cooks kitchen! We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to re-connect. Thank you to Lisa and Jerika!

Wonderful Farmhouse!

The farmhouse was very clean, beautifully decorated and truly welcoming! We spent many hours on the rocking chairs on the back porch looking at the beautiful mountains. There were homemade cookies waiting for us when we arrived which were delicious. We had a very nice visit in Luray. So glad we picked this rental.

A Peaceful Respite!

Gorgeous property. Beautifully appointed. The pastoral view from the porch is peaceful and dreamy. Less than 2-hours from DC. Town of Luray is inviting and friendly. Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive were breathtaking. The farmhouse is the epitome of “home.” My family didn’t want to leave and is already planning a return trip to this 5-star VRBO!

Weekend stay for family wedding

Our group of 8 stayed for the weekend at Lisa's beautiful farmhouse. We were there to attend my niece's wedding that was held at Stover Hall which was less than a mile down the road. We really loved the house and enjoyed all the amenities and extra touches that Lisa so lovingly added. The house was spotless and there was plenty of space for all of us. The laundry room with the iron and board was really appreciated as there was lots of wrinkles to be ironed out! The fresh duck eggs were delicious and a first for me. And the freshly baked cookies were a huge hit. The location is stunning and to be able to hang out with the ducks and bunnies was a real treat. Highly recommend!!

JMU graduation weekend

My family were visiting to attend my daughter’s graduation from James Madison University. The house was the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful views and escape the chaos of graduation. We had a multi generational group of 8 women. Each generation from 30 yr to 84 were represented. All LOVED the location and this property. High end kitchen appliances, very nice kitchen supplies and bath towels. The hostess is amazing!

I'm going to save you some time fellow VRBO shopper. If this property is relevant enough for your needs that you've made it to reviews, you should go ahead and "book now". I would encourage you to not read any further information about the Farmhouse so as not to spoil the surprises. You'll be happy with thiis unique property executed to a tee by an exceptional host. Review of Farmhouse

The farmhouse is gorgeous, and the host is amazing and so welcoming. House is well stocked, with so much thought put into the well-being of the guests. Property around the house is lovely. Conveniently located to town and parks but has that country feel. Can't say enough nice things about this property and the host.
