Very Rustic Log Home. Lake front.
Small beautiful private lake loaded with fish. Very relaxing. Had a great time!
It was exactly what we were looking for.
Hosts were wonderful!
This is a great little cottage that backs up to Ore Lake. Walk out the back wet room door and 10 steps and you'll be in the water. Peaceful neighbors and an overall quaint setting. Enjoyed my stay tremendously.
Wonderful old log cottage on the lake. Neighbor said it was a Sears home. Site did not list items to be provided, so make sure you pack. Small items missing, but nothing to dampen the whole relaxing atmosphere.
Our family reunion flowed over the week. Lots of coming and going. Good food on the grill. The Kroger near by made it easy to have a good supply. The kayaks and canoe kept the teens very happy.
The shallow lake and dock made the littles very happy. They all loved the lofts. A grill and a fire pit made the nights so fun. S’mores at sunset!!
Property was as depicted in the listing: rustic with lovely views of the lake. It could use some updates. There is no wifi or TV. We couldn’t figure out the heating which was quite old (recommend adding instructions). Cindy was responsive and sent someone over to help.
A couple of friends and I went up and stayed on the property and had a great time! The kayaks were great to go out and enjoy the lake and there was plenty of activities to do around as well
We booked this cabin as it was on a lake and it was near a town where we were taking our foster dog to be adopted by his forever family. Check in was super easy with keys left for us to let ourselves in. There was a lovely note and gift for our foster dog along with snacks for us and our dogs to enjoy which was a very nice personal touch.
The cabin is rustic as the listing states. The beds were comfortable and sheets had a nice fresh scent. There is no air conditioning but we were able to get a nice breeze with the windows open. The rest of the cabin is well fitted and has everything you need including some spices and a Keurig machine. The cabin could use a little bit of TLC and dusting here and there, but hey it's rustic so it is all part of the charm.
The best part of this cabin is the lakefront. It has a big deck, a large grassy area and a small dock. There are also kayaks and a canoe to use. We spent most of our time outside, on the lake and watching beautiful sunsets.
We are grateful to Cindy for sharing her place with us and allowing us to bring our dogs. We hope to return sometime in the future and would enjoy staying here again.
Our family enjoyed our vacation on Ore Lake. Here are some thoughts so you can decide if it is right for your family.
-The host was easy to work with and the beds were comfortable.
-there isn't any air conditioning, but even on the warmest days there ended up being a breeze off the lake that cooled things off for sleeping
-the water is super clear and great for swimming (at least until the boats stir it up in the afternoon). There is a a break wall instead of a beach, so the water starts at a few feet deep but stays that depth for a great distance. This was perfect for our kids who could go really far out and still be safe. If you have really little kids and want a beach. Brighton State park is near with a beach.
-very pet friendly, there was even a stake and lead provided if you want to tie up your dog outside.
-neighbors are close by but are friendly and quiet.
-there are 3 kayaks and a canoe, but we could not find the paddles for the canoe. The kayak paddles work, but several of them are short so if you are want to take the kayaks all the way around the lake, you may want to bring your own.
-the one thing that we would suggest is that there would be firewood provided.
overall, we had a great time and would recommend it.
