Families, couples or singles, pack your suitcase! Nicely furnished and equipped, this sunny two-bedroom, second-floor vacation rental has everything you will need to enjoy a relaxing escape to the seaside. It boasts a private deck off the master bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with 2 twin beds, a fully stocked eat-in kitchen, free WI-FI. The full bath is accessed from the hallway between the two bedrooms. There is a full tub with grab bar, hand-held shower head, and plenty of storage. In addition to a full living room with a flat-screened Smart TV, there is a three-season porch with a twin-sized futon for extra sleeping. All linens are provided, including 6 beach towels. Equipped with many thoughtful conveniences, your unit also has a private entrance and off- street parking for two vehicles.

Located in the Easton's Point section of Middletown adjacent to St. George's School, First (Easton's) and Second (Sachuest) beaches are both a little less than a mile for those who wish to walk. Sachuest Beach at Surfers End features some of the best surfing in Rhode Island. Come back from the beach after a glorious day in the sun and enjoy refreshments on the deck off the master bedroom, or relax in the yard and grill a steak!

A perfect location for exploring historic Newport year 'round! Besides close proximity to beaches, explore the outdoors and walk the many trails throughout Aquidneck Island - Norman Bird Sanctuary (at least 3 including Hanging Rock Trail), Sachuest Point, Aquidneck Land Trust with its 12 miles of public nature trails, to name a few! Walk the famous Newport Cliff Walk, about a mile away. We're a short ride to Bellevue Ave., Newport Harbor and Thames Street. Play golf at one of the courses on Aquidneck Island!

Pets are welcome, BUT MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE ARRIVAL. Must be up to date with shots.

Amazing!

Barb & Ed are amazing hostesses and really thought of just about everything for your stay. The VRBO was quiet, calm, and cozy. Would recommend this to families of 4 or less or 2 couples max.

Perfect Stay

This upper floor of a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood was perfect for our 3-night stay. It was very cozy with with plenty of room for 3 adults, comfy beds, full kitchen, and more. We especially loved the 2nd floor deck, from which you could smell and faintly hear the ocean, plus the beautifully landscaped gardens below. Location was ideal for access to 3+ local beaches, mansion tours, cliff walk, and great restaurants in Newport as well as within walking distance from home. We also enjoyed visiting with the hosts and their adorable dog. I only wish our stay could have been longer!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Barb and Ed’s place. The rental was clean and spacious. The location was fantastic. It was a very quick and easy drive into Newport. Graduation stay

We had a perfect stay while attending my daughter’s graduation. The location was perfect for us and the hospitality was wonderful. Clean rooms, plenty of towels etc.

Seaside Escape was awesome!

We had a beautiful birthday/Easter weekend at SE. Barbara and Ed were super welcoming hosts, the rental was immaculate and cozy. We loved our time there and will definitely return! We also loved the proximity to Salve Regina (where our daughter will be for the next 3 years) and all the classic Newport attractions. Plus we could bring our dog, who our daughter misses a lot! We also appreciated the comprehensive binder of local attractions that Barbara and Ed had for the guests. Can't wait to return! Thank you!

Wonderful Time

My sister, myself and a family friend came in for a cousin's wedding in Newport and had a wonderful couple of days here. Barbara and Ed were very kind and communicative, and the apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Brilliant hosts: caring and unobtrusive. The flat above their house is a mile from everything — three beaches, the town centre, restaurants (closer, really) — yet a calm oasis, too. Well stocked and supplied, clean and very comfortable. Truly excellent.

Sweet, cozy, comfortable

We loved our stay. The apartment was clean, spacious and cozy. The deck off the bedroom was lovely for relaxing and listening to the birds. Our daughters enjoyed the relaxing living room and bedrooms were comfortable. We enjoyed the well organized kitchen and loved being able to have simple meals in such a homey space. Wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly and made us feel at home.

Perfect getaway would stay again!

I can't say enough good things about our stay. The location, accommodations, and environment is ideal. You are a 5 min drive to the beach, about 10 min drive to downtown Newport, and less than 10 minutes to other landmarks like the mansions and Cliff Walk. The apartment is beautiful, with a rooftop balcony and sun room. Plus Barbara and Ed are very kind and responsive. We will definitely try to stay here again next time we're in the area!

A peaceful escape

We spent five days at the property and had a wonderful time. Barb and Ed are thoughtful, generous hosts and we loved every minute of our stay. It’s a nice walk to First/Easton’s beach. The little deck off the main bedroom is the perfect spot for reading or just enjoying the outdoors. We can’t wait to go back.

Just Great

A great rental, fully furnished apartment with two bedrooms, complete kitchen, living room, porch with place to sleep, and outside terrace. Quiet, residential neighbourhood. Excellent host. Great value for money. Downtown Newport just seven minutes away by car, very easy drive. About ten minutes brisk walk to Second Beach. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Newport.

So inviting!

Would stay again anytime! Sometimes pictures don’t tell the whole story, but this times pictures didn’t do it justice! The apartment was more spacious than expected, neat as a pin, and created a relaxing stay! I have issues with my back so the mattresses are important to me! Excellent, slept like a baby!! The host couple met us upon arrival. Barbara is friendly and had a list of pertinent information about Newport. It was a fantastic start to a busy week! Thank you for sharing your home!

Perfect weekend away!

We had the best weekend at Barbara and Ed’s! It was our first time traveling as a family of 4, and we had everything we needed. Great location to beaches and restaurants, very comfortable bed, very clean and relaxing. Ed and Barbara were great hosts. We will definitely be back next year!

We have been vacationing in Newport for many years and decided it was time to purchase our own 'Seaside Escape'! We retired here and thoroughly enjoy all that Acquidneck Island has to offer - relaxing, exploring, dining out - we could go on and on! Most importantly, we enjoy meeting so many great people, some of whom have become good friends.

What makes this property unique

This sunny vacation rental is close enough to walk, bike or ride to all of the wonderful activities in and around Newport, including both First and Second Beaches. Our location offers an escape from the crowds and tourists at the end of the day. It has a beautiful yard our renters can enjoy for grilling and relaxing and a deck/balcony off the master bedroom.
