Artistic retreat in residential area of Centro

This casita is a beautiful retreat to enjoy La Paz! We stayed for two weeks. It was spotlessly clean. It's even prettier than the lovely pictures, with art from local artists and just a lovely feel. It's a very inviting place to relax after a day of exploring. The beds are very comfortable - as others have noted the smaller bed is a bit firmer but even our sensitive person was very comfortable.Check-in was flexible and friendly. The owner, Allison, lives on the same block, just across one of the walls around the property, so it's very easy to get help with anything. She gives great recommendations, such as the restaurant Xolo two doors down. We had a few maintenance needs (things that happen anywhere) and she was super prompt in getting everything resolved. She has a backup person that made everything seamless. The kitchen has everything you might need - again, all very clean. The little pool is maintained weekly. The location is in a residential area, so doesn't have the loudness and constant traffic of the Malecón. The street isn't an arterial but does have occasional trucks. I heard nothing at night with the AC on. It's a pleasant walk to the museums and great coffee (try Reyna la Casa) or the Malecón and great food around the Jardín Velasco, and it's an even quicker drive or cheap taxi ride. There really is a fruit and veggie stand across the street - so convenient and friendly. Also try local deli Firy Faina, on the walk to the whale museum.Thank you Allison!!

Awesome La Paz

The location was perfect, a short drive to the malecon or easy walk, plenty of restaurants, authentic home and decorating with a welcoming host. Definitely recommend for those wanting the opposite of an “all-inclusive” experience.

Would happily stay again!

Great stay at CasaSunbreak. Everything you need is there: purified water in good supply; a big bag of coffee; excellent a/c; thick, large towels; dish soap; books. Lovely art work throughout the house. Neighborhood has easy access to DiDi (local Uber equivalent). Allison lives on site and is helpful with any questions. Also had good recommendations for transportation from SJD and a local rental car company. A fantastic time diving in La Paz.

Beautiful House and Wonderful Stay

Casa Sunbreak is a beautiful house. The property is homey and tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything one might need, from a washing machine to plenty of board games (and MAGNA-tiles!). All rooms have an AC, and the small but pretty pool was a life safer on hot days. Allison is a wonderful host. She is very accommodating, and pays attention to detail. For example, she offers beach equipment, a baby bed, and extra blankets. She lives near by and is always available if help is needed, and can share insider tips about the area. In short, Casa Sunbreak offers a delightful blend of comfort, convenience, and personalized hospitality, making it a truly memorable vacation retreat.

My friend and I stayed at Casa Sunbreak on a recent road trip loop through Baja Sur and absolutely loved it! The pictures and description made us choose it, and the real life experience made us love it! The location is perfect. A bit of a walk to the Malecon, but easy to drive and park in that area if preferred or a grab a taxi. There are so many cool local markets are in the area. Our host was extremely helpful upon check in and available if we had any needs throughout our stay. Everything is well thought out and the home is extremely comfortable. It was pretty hot while in town, so the pool was a great place to relieve the legs and the AC was a wonderful way to get a good nights sleep. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped. Truly a great place to explore La Paz.

Family trip

We had the best stay at Casa Sunbreak. It was exactly as advertised. The hosts were so helpful and the neighborhood was fun to explore. We bought fruit and veg across the street and fresh tortillas a block away. Lots of restaurants within a couple of blocks. We all had the best sleeps. In the morning we sat outside and read books and relaxed. Our boys loved the plunge pool to cool down. We would go back! We really enjoyed La Paz. It was worth the drive to have this experience.

A gem in the city

This casita is absolutely adorable. Every little detail has been considered. I would live in it in a heartbeat. We enjoyed spending three days in La Paz. It worked well for day trips to the nearby beaches and towns and we appreciated all of Allison's recommendations. We also really loved just walking around the neighbourhoods and had the BEST empanadas at the municipal market. Highly recommend!

Loved it; great for families!

The place has great charm, amenities and is very well-cared for, and Allison was a responsive, informative and kind host who went above and beyond on a number of fronts! We loved La Paz and hope to visit again soon! Casa Sunbreak was great for kids; ours particularly enjoyed the plunge pool and appreciated the sand toys, and we appreciated Allison's recommendation of a fantastic sitter who enabled us to get away for date night!

Wonderful spot in La Paz!

We had a great stay here! The neighborhood is very safe and friendly. There are numerous stores and restaurants around so you can get what you need or want easily. The walk to the Mallecon is also very pleasant. The house itself is gorgeous inside and has been well maintained. Everything was very clean and the kitchen well stocked:)

Fantastic place

Allison is a fantastic host and the place was exactly as listed. The place was clean and had just about all needed for our stay. We stayed for 6 nights and the location worked well for us as it was close to the Malecon and a great location for our day trips out to other parts of the Baja.

Allison puts the sun in Casa Sunbreak

My wife and I were joined by our adult daughter for a 5 night stay at Casa Sunbreak. Allison, the owner, was an absolute delight from the moment she greeted our arrival. She was very helpful in our La Paz stay. Her recommendations were spot on for sights, tours, restaurants, groceries, etc. The Casa is a gem; well decorated furnished and cozy. Tea coffee and bottled water was provided. There was a full kitchen with everything we needed. Washer and dryer. Internet. Onsite secured parking was a bonus. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Stay

Our week at Sunbreak was beyond our expectations. Our new friend, and owner Allison, was extremely helpful and accommodating. She has created a very cozy, well stocked, and charming little Casita. From morning on the patio, to a drink with our legs in the plunge pool at the end of the day was a treat. We loved walking the neighborhood, eating taco’s two blocks away, and shopping at a fresh fruit stand across the street. All our experiences were wonderful. We frequently travel and use VRBO. This home is at the top of our list. Kudos to Allison.

Cozy home away from home....

Wow! What a wonderful vacation! The house was the perfect place to call home during our 1st trip to La Paz. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment. Safety is always a concern while traveling and this house is secure with your own personal gated yard/pool/parking area and privacy fences there was never any need to worry. We visited in August which is 100+ degrees and the air conditioning was a huge plus. The lighted dipping pool is also a really nice feature that we used to unwind at night. The Wi-Fi is dependable and I was able to work during the trip. Staying here was 10x better than any hotel experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools to make a great meal. The grocery store across the street and the restaurant next door for breakfast/lunch/dinner are the icing on top to this adorable place. The host is very accommodating and really helped with lots of recommendations. She has thoughtfully made this a place we want to come back to.

Even better than expected!

I recently spent three weeks at Casa Sunbreak with my family - spouse, dog, and two kids, ages 8 and 11. Even before we arrived, Allison was an awesome host, full of ideas to help us create a meaningful and fun experience. She continued to be extremely responsive, kind, caring, and generous with her time. Meeting her was a highlight of our trip. The house is just as clean and comfortable as other reviewers have mentioned. The pool was nice and cool in the July heat, and bigger than it seemed from the photos. The kids loved it and were in it every single day. Tortillas from an amazing tortilleria were just down the street, and so many great restaurants are in walking distance of the house. We chose Casa Sunbreak because we wanted to have a little taste of living in town, away from tourist attractions, and that's exactly what we experienced. I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic house/location

Such a great property. Super clean, and perfectly prepared with everything we needed (including a citrus juicer ;) )!! The walk to the malecón was delightful and safe. So much to see and do while there. We made a trip to the beach most days and enjoyed La Paz restaurants and sights in the evenings. The house was in a fantastic location and Allison was the best. Great communication and nearby if we needed anything (we didn’t). The whole trip was A+++.

Home away from home

The house is very atmospheric with an authentic Baja feel. The outside area is a little peaceful oasis but the property is in a great area with shops, restaurants etc and a fairly easy walk to the Malacon. We loved the little details like actual chef quality sharp knives in the kitchen, a really good stove top and nice art on the walls.Beds were super comfy and the host, Alison, was super welcoming and very responsive. The off street parking and automatic gate were very convenient. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday for us.

Perfect home base for a family La Paz stay!

Lovely home tucked back from the Malecon in a neighborhood filled with treasures — stellar food, coffee, organic produce within walking distance. The Malecon was a pleasurable walk away, and we loved every inch of the city and surrounding areas we had a chance to explore. Casa Sunbreak was well-stocked, clean and comfortable for our family of four! So great to have a plunge pool and access to a grill/ full kitchen (though to be fair, the food in La Paz is too good not to test out as much as you can!) Allison was a stellar and knowledgeable host who communicated helpfully and clearly with us from the moment we booked until we departed. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful Gem

I cannot express enough how great it was to stay at Casa Sunbreak. Beautiful home in a great and safe location. It has a real Mexican charm! The dip pool was a big hit with our children (5 and 7), as well as the many games and puzzles they found in a wooden box. On top of that, we had fresh mangoes every day. The accommodation has played a big part in creating joyful and fond memories of our first trip to La Paz. The space is perfect for a family our size and has everything we needed. The caring owner has created a wonderful oasis. She knows the area very well and is a great source of recommendations. We certainly hope to be back next year!
