About this property

“Sunshine” Glamping, Private Bath, Soaking Tub

Camp in a spacious outfitters tent just outside of town, perfect outdoor accommodations with accents of luxury. “Sunshine” is one of Monument Glamping’s favorite glamping experiences, built on a solid timber structure with queen bed, private bathroom and an enclosed back deck with soaking tub (big enough for 2), and an open front deck with fire pit and restful view. The space is all yours, but feel free to walk our trails and wade in the creek. A perfect glamping getaway!

No camping gear required, and we try to make sure everything is ready for your arrival. Your tent is a Davis Canvas Tent (custom made out of Denver), the best canvas manufacturer in America (our humble opinion).

ALL INCLUDED in your semi-outdoor accommodation:
✔ Your queen bed has quilts, pillows, extra blankets on a memory foam mattress.
✔ Your front deck has a fire pit, lounging chairs, and grill to use (propane service is extra).
✔ Your deck is an enclosed private room with a water trough for a hot or cold plunge.
✔ Your lockable private restroom comes with a flushing toilet and hot shower and sink.
✔ Your tent, decks, bathroom, and parking space are privately yours.

SOME EXTRAS are available upon request. Let us know which of these you’d like:
➕ Propane Service (all utilities compatible to 20# cylinders, we’ll keep you fully fueled) $35
➕ Pet Fee (for the entire stay, each pet, up to 2 allowed) $35
➕ Extra Persons (up to 2 extra, totalling four, we provide air mattresses, per night) $35
➕ Second Vehicle (for the entire stay, inquire as to where to park) $35
➕ Sleep In (standard check-out is 10am, but sleep in and be out by 1pm) $35

ENHANCEMENTS to help make your stay extra special. Upon registration, inquire of the following:
♥ Romantic Surprise (rose petals, wine, balloons) $45
♥ Water Enhancement (robes, soaps, lights, etc.) $45
♥ Wine Tasting (at least 2 bottles, timing may be arranged) $45
♥ Colorado Cookout (homemade meal for 2, ready to grill) $55

We try our hardest to fulfill last-minute requests, but please do your best to give us 24-hour notice.

INTERACTION WITH HOSTS
We are Chris & Wendy Jeub, owners of this 6.5 acre creekside property (have been for 25 years), superhosts for over a dozen consecutive quarters. We’re living life up at the house, and we do not check you in (self-check-in and check-out instructions will come), but you may message us if you need assistance. We work hard to make sure everything is ready for you BEFORE arrival, granting you your space all to yourselves.

If you would like to visit, we may be able to arrange time on your deck for a wine tasting. We make homemade wine, beer, and kombucha. Our most enjoyable time with our guests have been getting to know each other while sipping adult beverages. Seasonal flavors vary and extra fees may apply, but we’ll make sure it’s worth it. Message us and we’ll see if arrangements can be made.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
👍 Wifi Included. Yay! But don’t get too used to it. Enjoy the outdoors while you’re here.
👍 Other Glampers. This is one of several units on the property. We’re all much more spread out than a traditional campground, but be conscientious of space and proximity.
👍 Hiking Trails. We have a few secret trails we like to share with guests, one being to Monument Rock just a mile away. We’ll have info when you get here.
👍 Cleaning Tips. We hire college students and our children to clean up after you. Please consider leaving a tip or send one through our app. They always put a skip in their step!

NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Our neighborhood is unincorporated El Paso County bordering the Town of Monument, not “out in the boonies.” You’ll see houses on the eastern horizon and rural properties to the west, but our property is large and Monument Creek flows year-round, serving as the separator between the rural and residential civilizations. I-25 is minutes away with all the amenities of life (Walmart, Ford Amphitheater, tourist attractions), but just far enough to enjoy wandering deer, flying waterfowl and eagles, and howling coyotes at night.

GETTING AROUND
On the map we’re just 2 miles from town, but there are not defined walkways or sidewalks to make town an easy walk. We strongly suggest vehicles during your stay, preferably with some clearance to enter in and exit the property.

HOUSE RULES
• Standard Check-in 4pm; Check-out 10am; Quiet hours 10pm-8am
• Pets are responsibility of owners and must be leashed or kenneled
• No parties or unexpected guests
• No smoking in any of our venues (outdoors is acceptable)
• Moderation and maturity of adult substance consumption is expected
• Respect other glampers and the nature around you

Our experience was absolutely amazing! Everything about our stay was wonderful. We had such a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back for another stay. We’ll definitely be recommending this incredible glamping spots to everyone! There is a gas station not to far and there are hiking areas. We loved the peace and quiet, and the veiw. Also, I requested the "romantic surprise" and my spouse loved it, it was worth the price. Thank you!!

Monument glamping

This location was a beautiful, serene, and relaxing getaway that was not too far from home. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the sunshine tent. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone wanting to be out in nature yet keep some of the comforts of home. I hope you give it a try.

About the host

Hosted by Chris & Wendy Jeub

Host profile image
We (Chris and Wendy) grew up in the midwest, but we fell in love with Colorado twenty years ago. We're both teachers, too, who want to host the best glamping experience for our guests.

Why they chose this property

Monument Creek Glamping began the summer of 2019 when we remodeled our bedroom. We built a platform, set up our camping tent, and moved our master bedroom outdoors. What a magical time we had that month! During the remodel, a desire grew in our hearts to share the experience with others.

And here you are!

We are Chris and Wendy Jeub, natives of Minnesota who moved our family to Colorado in 2000. We are proud to have raised most of our children here at Monument Creek, a blessed history and heritage. We are both educators — Chris an English teacher and Wendy a homeschool mom. Most of our kids are grown now, but you may see a child or grandchild enjoying themselves around Monument Creek.
Little brings us more satisfaction than to witness people relish glamping on our property. We have much to share with you — creek, trails, sunrise in the morning and moonrise in the evening — and we love seeing visitors like you relax and enjoy. Civilization is just minutes away, and the wild of Pike National Forest is just a couple miles from your tent.

This year we are dedicating all our resources into maximizing the incredible experience at Monument Creek. For your short stay, our homestead is your home-sweet-home, and you are a most welcomed guest! Our aim is to make this a 5-star experience for you, and we are at the house ready to respond to any question or request.

Friend, may your experience here be just as magical as it was when we "glamped" in our backyard in 2019. You belong here! May you have a lovely, refreshing stay.

—Chris and Wendy
