LOCATION
Centrally located in the popular Movie Colony East neighborhood, Casa Chia is a charming, remodeled 3-bedroom 2-bathroom Mid-Century house that embodies everything Palm Springs, including fun decor and gorgeous Desert landscaping. The home is close to downtown and only two blocks to 2 supermarkets, Starbucks, Dominos, Winchell's Donuts, McDonalds, Taco Bell, and lots more shopping and food options. And it's an easy walk to the free public tennis courts at Ruth Hardy Park. This prime location is a fantastic starting point for a hike or bike ride around town, and offers everything you'll need for an unforgettable Palm Springs getaway.
BACKYARD OASIS
This is why you stay at Casa Chia! Any stress you arrive with should melt away once you catch the unsurpassed, panoramic mountain views from our huge backyard paradise, which includes a newer sparkling 30-foot-long pool, 8-person spa, gas grill, fire pit, chaise lounges, colorful umbrellas, shaded day bed, and much more. Just outside the kitchen, you'll find the shaded pergola-covered patio. Fire up the gas grill and dine alfresco at the glass-top table for six. There's an adjacent dining table for an additional four so plenty of outdoor dining accommodations. Take a refreshing dip in the remodeled (2024), sparkling 30-foot-long swimming pool, or a rejuvenating soak in the 8-person spa. Sip cocktails around the fire pit at night, or simply lounge in any of the many seating areas located throughout the enormous, private backyard, all while taking in the breathtaking mountain views. Endless possibilities—you're on vacation!
INSIDE THE HOME
The home is professionally cleaned and sanitized between each guest's stay. The living room features a long, comfy sofa with throw pillows, cool mid-century modern chairs, lots of books & board games, and a 60-inch Samsung smart TV with free access to local networks. Use your personal credentials to access streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and more. Our high speed Internet and WIFI is complimentary. We also provide loads of tourist brochures & restaurant menus to help you navigate your way through your entertainment and dining options during your stay in Palm Springs.
KITCHEN & DINING
The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare hearty meals, including refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, coffee maker, toaster, electric tea kettle, blender, utensils, sugar, spices, coffee filters, and more. When it's time to eat, gather at the dining table off the kitchen or dine al fresco just outside on the pergola-covered patio overlooking the sparkling pool & spa.
BEDS & BATHS
The home sleeps a maximum of six guests with a total of three bedrooms. The primary bedroom offers a California king bed and en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. French doors lead directly from the primary bedroom out to the private backyard oasis and pool area. The second and third guest bedrooms each offer a queen-size bed, closets & built-in dresser drawers. The second hallway bathroom has a tub/shower combination. All bedrooms feature thick curtains for privacy and daylight blocking.

You're an easy walk, bike ride or quick Uber to downtown Palm Springs where you'll find award-winning restaurants as well as the quaint shops on Palm Canyon Drive. Or try your luck at the popular Spa Resort Casino.
There's plenty to do, from hiking trails & Mid-century home tours to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—an unforgettable 2.5-mile ride up the San Jacinto Mountains in the world's largest rotating tram car (a must!). And you're only a short drive to the very popular Joshua Tree National Park & Pioneer Town. We hope you enjoy your stay at Casa Chia and leave Palm Springs with a lasting memory of a wonderful time with family and friends.
Some Basic Rules and Things To Note:
1. OCCUPANCY & AGE REQUIREMENTS: There is a maximum of 6 overnight guests per city of Palm Springs Vacation Rental Ordinance. The primary responsible renter must be 25 years or older and meet the host at check-in to verify government issued ID (Driver’s License or Passport).
2. POOL & SPA HEAT: Spa heat is complimentary. Pool heat is optional for a fee of $69/day. Contact the host after booking to request pool heat, which is recommended between the months of October–May when the water temperature drops well below 60 degrees. The total pool heat fee must be paid separately from your booking fees to the host via Venmo or Zelle at least two days prior to guest arrival. Don't worry, we will remind you a week before your arrival regarding pool heat option. Pool & Spa use hours are between 7 am to 11 pm.
3. PETS: We love our furry friends and allow a maximum of 2 DOGS (sorry no other animals). We charge a flat fee of $39 per night for up to two dogs. You must select the pet option when completing your VRBO booking. Guests who arrive with a pet not registered in their booking, or bring an animal onto the premises anytime during their stay without having paid the appropriate fee or made arrangements with the Host will be denied access to the home without refund.
4. PROPERTY ACCESS: This home utilizes a front door digital lock that requires a unique code for each guest to enter. The code is reset after each guest's stay, so you don't have to worry about a previous guest still having access. You will receive your access code via email or text on the day of your check-in once your rental agreement and City of Palm Springs Good Neighbor documents have been signed (see below) and government-issued ID verified.
There is a Ring doorbell/camera at the front entry door and a driveway security camera, both of which record video and audio so we are able to check-in guests remotely when we are unable to meet in person. There's a 3rd camera aimed at the pool motor & equipment area, which is off limits.
5. DAMAGE WAIVER: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a flat-rate, non-refundable damage waiver fee as low as $59, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers Host expenses for up to $1,500 caused by accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) if Guest reports the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a costly traditional security deposit.
6. RENTAL AGREEMENT & CITY DOCUMENTS: You will receive a City-required short term rental agreement & documents outlining house rules and City of Palm Springs Good Neighbor ordinances that will need to be signed (digital signature via Docusign) before your stay is fully approved and front door access granted.
