About this property
Ecusta Trail House- Dog Friendly- 1.5 miles from down town!
The Ecusta Trail House is an adorable, rustic two bed one bath house built in the 1940’s. Originally built as a flower barn for arranging flowers, the Barn house has been fully renovated into a cozy living space! Guests will have the entire upstairs of the house to yourself. The space below is just for storage, not for guest use. Our cozy cottage is just over a mile away from down town Hendersonville! We are about 40 minutes to downtown Asheville and just 20-30 minutes to Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, and DuPont State forest.
We are a dog only friendly home (NO CATS). Our neighborhood is very flat and safe to walk around! THINGS TO NOTE: the yard is not yet fenced in, so please be sure to leash your pups at all times. TV: We do not offer cable channels. You are welcome to bring a Roku/fire stick to plug into the TV’s. Both TV’s are smart TV’s with lots of streaming apps.

We had a wonderful stay. Bed was comfortable, pups enjoyed the large yard, everything we needed was included in the rental, location was close to downtown and the new Ecusta Trail is right down the street. It was very cozy and well decorated as well. We love how dog friendly the area is and how many stores allow you to shop with your pups. The owner was very communicative and provided everything we could possibly need. Would definitely recommend!
Nice old fashioned place. Working fireplace. Heart of pine floors and in a very easy to find location. Also, it has covered parking. Owners were welcoming and communicative.
My husband, daughter, and I spent the weekend in the barn to celebrate all our birthdays. The house was very clean and very comfortable. We particularly appreciated the coffee and being able to bring our dogs.
The property was much larger than we expected it was so beautiful and wonderfully restored. The yard was large and the dogs had a great time playing with on the long lines out there, the living room as plenty of room to set up crates, and bedrooms are large. Would definitely stay again
I had a 2-week stay so I really "settled in". The house is great, clean comfortable, well-stocked, farm house aesthetic. The house is very dog-friendly and sits on a large lot.
The property owners are very helpful if you have any questions or need anything.
Highly recommend.
The house is older, which is how it gets its charm. Good walking neighborhood for pets. Conveniently located to area wineries, downtown shopping and dining, and Grocery store. Close enough to Asheville to enjoy activities there, too.
We originally planned to stay here with our family and dog, but my husband and dog decided to stay home so it was just a girlfriend and I. This place is so adorable! It was the perfect location for hiking and seeing sights while being close to darling downtown Hendersonville. We loved all the personal touches and the beds were super comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again.
We came up to NC from Charleston, SC to enjoy some fall activities. We went to Marked Tree Vineyard and Justus Orchards for apple picking and we had a great time! The stay was perfectly described and the bedrooms share a Jack & Jill bathroom which we liked so we could be close to our almost 2 yr old. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook dinner at the house both nights we were there. The host left a very detailed binder which made finding recommendations easy and fast. We would definitely recommend this place if you want to feel cozy in the mountains!
Stayed at this property with my family of four, and it was phenomenal. The check-in process was simple, thanks to the detailed instructions I received from our host. The home was spotless, and my kids loved having a space of their own. The home is just outside of Hendersonville, keeping you in proximity to all the amenities without being in the middle of the downtown happenings. Plus, it’s a perfect spot to explore everything in the area. Checkout process was simple, and my kids have already asked if we can stay there again. I highly recommend booking this space!
From the start Madeline was in touch and kept us informed leading up to and during our stay. The barn house was fantastic for us. It was a workcation in which we could easily perform our jobs for a few days then get out and enjoy Hendo and surrounding areas. Easy walk to a local coffee shop, and when the Ecusta Trail is completed it will be an easy walk into downtown Hendo. Everything is just a few minutes away. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the barn house to everyone.
This cottage was spacious, charming and had everything you could possibly need, including things you didn't know you wanted. Wanted. As an added bonus, we arrived during the holiday season and it It was festive and decorated beautifully for the season. Unfortunately half of our visit included torrential rains so we appreciate it how cozy it was and enjoyed the blazing fire in the fireplace.
First things first, especially for us clean freaks, is this place is immaculate! I mean, even the light fixtures are clean!
It's a charming little space with a rustic, modern farmhouse vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the rest of the house was cozy. The location is perfect with its quiet neighborhood and large yard (full of lightning bugs), but so close to downtown. It's about 10 min to the apple orchards, wineries, and the most breathtaking views.
Madeline was the perfect host. Communicates very well and made sure the house had everything we could need...even treats for the dogs!
I was so impressed with all the things that you could use to cook with and the condiments.
It would have been nice to have the one table lamp that wasn't so bright that it blinded you. The TV is awful small for being in that large living room. A dresser in the master bedroom would have been accommodating whether it was in the room or in the closet. It would have been very nice to have TV 's in the bedrooms. I was a bit surprised when there were no hand towels. I was also concerned about the slant of the floors. Overall this day was very nice.

Why they chose this property
This property is perfect for a peaceful getaway in the mountains! Very easy to access and located in a very safe, quiet, and friendly neighborhood. The barn house is kid and dog friendly, so bring the whole family!
What makes this property unique
Located at the botton of the mountain, so no four-wheel drive necessary to get here. Just a quick 1.5 miles away from down town Hendersonville! We get the most beautiful fall colors!
ECUSTA TRAIL: The Ecusta trail is just a 5 minute walk or a one minute bike ride from the house. The Ecusta trail is an old railroad that is in the process of turning into a greenway path that connects Hendersonville and Brevard! Perfectly flat and open to walkers and bicyclers. PLEASE NOTE: most of the trail is open to the public however, not all of it is paved yet (mostly still gravel) so please use at your own caution. The trail on the Brevard side has not started yet.
