About this property

Dog friendly lakefront home w/fireplace near Lk George. Telecommuters welcome!

Remote workers welcome! This pet-friendly waterfront home, tucked in the woods in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, but close to everything, is available year-round with high-speed internet and abundant activities on the pond or nearby all year long.

Enjoy a relaxing time on a quiet 58-acre pond in the foothills of the Adirondacks. In the summer you can enjoy a relaxing day on the peaceful pond in the pedal boat, canoe or on one of the Stand-Up Paddleboards. Spend an evening around the campfire eating S’mores, telling ghost stories and making memories.

In the fall the foliage is gorgeous, and local views abound!

We are close to several ski centers, such as West Mountain Ski Center, Gore Mountain, and Hickory Ski Center. In the winter there is skiing, snowmobile trails nearby and cross country skiing and ice fishing on the pond to name a few, or just curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book.

The soothing atmosphere of the deck is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or while gathered around with family and friends relaxing and taking in the beautiful views. The two sliders offer the same views from inside in the colder months.

15 min from Glens Falls and Queensbury, 20 min from Lake George, 45 min from Saratoga Springs, 1 hour from Albany International Airport.

Affordable Getaway on Shared Property

Our group, 2 couples in our 40's and one senior dog, were happy and mostly comfortable throughout our 3-night stay. We enjoyed paddleboarding and sunset views. We spent much time cooling off by the dock where the pond's floor wasn't too squishy. The house was well-appointed and the hosts left some goodies for us which were appreciated! Guests can pack lightly knowing most things they might need are available. As advertised, the outdoor areas, including the dock, campfire, and paddleboards (etc) are all shared with the cabin next door. There is very little privacy between the two properties, which could be uncomfortable for some. The hosts were friendly and their presence was apparent, ensuring we had what we needed, cleaning the property next door, letting us know their friends would be arriving next door on our last full day, and asking to take out the trash for us the night before our departure (instructions would have sufficed). The home is older (with carpeting nearly everywhere) but well-tended and clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious living room and comfortable beds. The upstairs bedroom took time to cool off and air-out but, with A/C's and fans, our friends were comfortable overnight. I'd be most excited to come back with a larger group- sharing the adjoining properties with friends or family. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt it was a good value.

Winter Escape

Our short winter getaway to see the ice castles was very relaxing. The home at Copeland Pond was very comfortable & we & our 2 large dogs settled in nicely. It was private, very clean & everything was thoughtfully provided for from the necessities to the smallest of items, all with a personal touch. Very convenient location for all the amenities Lake George has to offer. The owners were very welcoming & accessible. It is a very scenic & peaceful lake & we would definitely recommend a stay there. 4 wheel drive vehicle recommended in winter as the road to the house was icy.

Copeland Pond

Good facility and very clean. Pond is quite nice, but no fish bites. Woods and overall property very nice. Grill is a good amenity. Kitchen is pretty well stocked in terms dinner & flatware, but lacking some pots and pans. Grill utensils are minimal and could be improved.

Wonderful stay!

This property was all it promised and more. So pretty! We had fun using the paddle boards and paddle boat and my husband had some great luck fishing. Linda and her husband were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The location was also perfect being so close to Lake George and we had a lot of fun! We will definitely book a stay at this home again! If we could we would give it 6 stars!

An Adirondack Gem in the Woods on the Pond

House was very clean and set up with everything you need (towels, beach towels, pots, pans, dishes, etc.). The private pond was clean and very quiet. My family and I stayed for a week, in July and had an excellent time. Wish we could've stayed longer! Most of our time was spent outside, on the deck or dock or in the pond. Incredible sunsets, fishing, views, wildlife (deer, chipmunks, hummingbirds, etc.). My teenage sons and dog loved the paddleboards, pedal boat and canoe. Fire pit set-up is great too. It's location is close to Lake George Village, other local restaurants and shopping. Linda and John, the owners, had excellent communication and are very responsive. Would love to stay again during the fall and winter too!

I have enjoyed my time at the pond for many years and find that I love seeing the delight on others' faces as they get to experience it as well.

This is the last piece of lakefront property which has passed down through my husband's family for several generations, since the 1890s. While he grew up, he and his family spent summers in the camp; and on retirement his parents custom-built the year-round home which is welcoming guests today.

I think of this quiet corner of the world as a little slice of heaven and hope you will feel the same!

Why they chose this property

This year-round home is nestled in the woods on a private pond, yet is close to everything you could desire. There is high-speed internet and an adjustable desk in the living room, making it convenient to work remotely. There is always something to do here or nearby, or just relax and unwind!

What makes this property unique

There are several watercraft available during the spring, summer and fall. Cross country skiing across the pond once the ice is thick enough is fun, and many people enjoy ice fishing. There is a gas insert in the fireplace to enjoy on those cool evenings, and the views are amazing year-round!

You never know when you might see deer strolling through the property. Everyone has been loving the hummingbirds who are here from approximately early May to mid September.

This cottage seems secluded, but is close to everything!

There are some excellent restaurants within 5-15 minutes.

The cottage has high-speed Wi-Fi and an adjustable desk for your convenience. We've already had a remote worker who told me the internet was seamless and that she loved how relaxed she felt while working because she was able to enjoy the view.

We are close to several ski centers such as West Mountain Ski Center, Gore Mountain and hickory Ski Center. We are also close to Lake George, Saratoga Springs (think horse racing and performing arts center) and only about an hour from Albany International Airport.

There is a motocross track within 2 miles. Golden Goals is practically around the corner.

Weekends in February are Winter Carnival Time! Attend the Lake George Winter Carnival for Cookoffs, Contests, Car Races, Outhouse Races & More. A lot of fun!

Adirondack Balloon Festival in September is one of the largest in the country.

Queensbury and Glens Falls are only about 15-20 minutes away with shopping centers, mall, restaurants and grocery stores.

Americade in Lake George is always a big event and lots of family fun!

Lake George has an annual antique car show.

There are lots of fun activities in the Cool Insuring Arena (Formerly Glens Falls Civic Center) throughout the year.

Check out the event schedules for any of these and more online!
