Everything went as planned. The cabin was everything we hoped it would be. We wanted to stay in an older cabin with a lot of character and this cabin delivered! Located just 2 blocks from my daughter's cabin was perfect!

Was just my daughter and myself, and it was super relaxing. Sue was supposed to bring a couple friends but it fell through at the last minute. We swam, drove around the lake, went to the golf tournament, and just had a great time. Calvin couldn't be cuter and everything worked great. The jacuzzi was amazing and the only thing was it was hot and there is no AC but they had fans. Overall was a great experience and I would def repeat.
This property was so quaint and made the whole experience better. Great location and had everything we needed. Hot tub was great after hiking. We also appreciated access to trails in neighborhood. Would love to return in future.
This place is so perfect. The owners have done a fantastic job providing all necessities and more. There are peak a boo lake views and if they trimmed the lower branches, there would be a much better view. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and the deck was perfect to relax on all day. The downstairs bed was very, very firm. It was really uncomfortable so we ended up sleeping upstairs on the softer beds. We will definitely return though. Absolutely lovely.

It was nice. A little too much of owners stuff everywhere.
Everything was wonderful with the cabin however, the water pressure in the shower seem to be lacking in pressure.

Reviewer Comments:
The owners of this cabin took great care in decorating it. It's very clean but has sloping issues. I wouldn't recommend for people with accessibility issues or people traveling with small children. Beware, the heater is set at 55 so it comes on during the summer when the temp dips down. The directions require that you leave it on.
This place is exactly what I picture when I think about a cabin at the lake, with a knotty pine interior and rustic furnishings. The upstairs loft area is perfect for teens, and even has its own bathroom. The kitchen window looks out over the deck to the lake, where we saw beautiful sunrises each day. The cabin is just a block off N. Lake Tahoe Blvd, so there is some road noise on the deck, but we still were able to enjoy relaxing in the hot tub and on the swing. Easy to get to beaches and grocery store. Kitchen supplies were great; we were able to make all of our meals while staying there.
We absolutely loved our stay at Gundy's Getaway. The cabin is so real Tahoe. The deck and the hot tub were nice also. Loved the charm of this cabin and was very clean. The owners did a beautiful job keeping the old Tahoe feel. The smoke from the Caldor fire got so bad and we had to leave a day early. Meschel from the management company was so amazing and very helpful. We will be back!!
Rustic cabin with lots of charm. For the price it’s a good value.
This property was charming and very rustic, a bit more rustic than we’d hoped for. It’s hot on hot days, no ac, just a couple of fans. The hot tub needed cleaning so unfortunately we weren’t able to use it, this was a big let down since it was one of the main reasons we chose it. The refrigerator and freezer were empty but had a strong fish odor that lasted our entire stay. Overall the stay was fine but we wouldn’t rent this cabin again for those reasons. We would also recommend beach supplies such as chairs and maybe an umbrella be provided. For someone traveling a long distance to stay here those items would be great to have on hand. The beaches weren’t very enjoyable without them. Overall the cabin is fine, but don’t expect much!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It has filtered lake views and the patio is a great place to relax after a long day at the beach or after hiking. We loved the hot tub too. The kitchen was well stocked. The house is a little tight for more than five adults, and the third bedroom with the single bed is more like a closet (no room to store clothes/bags), so would be best for a kid. There were some cobwebs and dust in some areas of the house and bugs/spiders given older house/insulation, but cleanliness was otherwise alright. Great location - 10 mins to Tahoe City and 10 mins to Kings Beach. Be aware that there’s street noise from the main road on the deck but you can’t hear it inside. Great cabin in Tahoe!
We loved staying here. Great location for exploring the lake. The cabin is cosy yet big enough for our family of 5. Well stocked kitchen. We will come back!
Wonderful time, lovely old time cabin and very comfortable. Great location, well supplied kitchen. Only little downside as it snowed the first couple days, drafty doors with gaps.. Thank you!
Gundy’s Getaway is a fantastic 1930’s Tahoe cabin located in the perfectly between Kings Beach and Tahoe City. The cabin is definitely charming with a fantastic homey feel but there are a few minor (or not so minor depending on your opinion) safety concerns if your party has younger children like ours does. The loft bedroom and stairs have a waist high guardrail but no safety bars to keep littles from crawling over the side. There is also an unprotected 2x3 foot heater grate in the floor in the living space between the hallway and the kitchen that gets extremely hot when the heater is on. The downstairs beds (a twin and a double) are insanely uncomfortable but the two queens up in the loft were nice. Just meant everyone slept upstairs in one room which for us was fine. The deck and hot tub were amazing but be prepared the doors into the house have really tricky locks so you want to be double and triple sure to check them at the end of the night and before you leave. Property manager was nice enough though when I told her one of the beds had dirty sheets (literally dirt in the bed) I felt she brushed it off saying it was odd since they’ve had the same cleaning crew for ten years. In all we would stay again and wouldn’t change a single thing about our trip.
This classic Olde Tahoe cabin was perfect for us with it's large rock fireplace, knotty pine interior, great location, and much appreciated deck with hot tub! Super clean, homey, and convenient!
We loved the location and the vintage Tahoe cabin. Would highly recommend to families looking for a quiet and relaxing time on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.
My family loved our stay at Gundy's! The cabin has so much charm and you can tell that the place is well loved and cared for. From the rustic decor to the big wrap around deck (and the hot tub!) it was exactly what we were looking for and more. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer was the icing on the cake. My husband also had to work for a few hours -- and the internet delivered.
We really enjoyed the location as well, as we were close to beaches/restaurants (check out Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay for beverages). Highly recommend and would love to come back again!
Overall, we loved the RUSTIC and historic cabin. It's obviously well-cared for, well-loved. It was so clean, YET, if I could please kindly encourage you to change out the sofa and love seat which were NOT clean at all, perhaps a vinyl or leather that can be wiped clean rather than stained fabric. And the floor rugs in the bathrooms, just so guests know their clean. I hate to complain because we truly, truly LOVED staying here and plan to come back again to this very cabin. Thank you!
This place was perfect. Classically country while incredibly comfortable and couldn't be in a more perfect location between Incline and Tahoe City. We hiked to the north past incline and rented a speed boat in Tahoe City for tubing and a picnic in Emerald Bay (highly recommend) I loved getting my coffee and greeting the rising sun over the lake through the tall pines that surround the house on the extensive porch while my family still slept in wonderful beds upstairs and own. And then there was sitting in the huge outdoor hotttub while the fullmoon emerged the last night of our stay. Also--happy to report for you people like me who inevitably have to do some work during vaca that the wifi enabled me to have a couple super-clear video-conferences while I was there (probably higher quality than our place in LA!). Epic place, epic vacation. THANK YOU!
