Park, 35 minutes from Ouray (America's Little Switzerland ), 25 minutes to the Montrose Airport. We are Green friendly. WE NO LONGER TAKE PETS

Ranch Beauty

This place is a wonderful retreat to take in the vastness of the mountains and land in the Colorado wedt. Super easy access to the Black Canyon and just 15 minutes from downtown Monroe. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend to anyone.

Convenient to Gunnison

We enjoyed our stay overall. Gary was extremely welcoming and the farm setting was restful. Short Drive to the park made it convenient. This place is not made for tall folks. Gary made us aware upon arrival that the ceiling was low at the top of the steps. It took us a few whacks to get used to the slope of the ceiling at the staircase and over the second bed. We also were without a hairdryer. When I asked if I was overlooking it, Gary said someone had taken it and it had not been replaced. I left behind a thermos and Gary was kind enough to ship it back to us, which we really appreciated.

Great place to unwind

Out in the boonies but not hard to find. The quiet was priceless. The horses and mini horses were a bonus. Watched deer and listened to coyotes. Our host offered good day trip suggestions that were appreciated. You do have to climb stairs to sleep and no wifi. We would come again if we go this way. Thank you Gary and LaurieAnn!

Black Canyon hiking

Lovely property. Quaint and Rustic, but this was evident in listing. Doug was an absolute pleasure. Wi-if and streaming of tv not reliable/almost non existent . But this was mentioned in prior reviews.

Great location

The location was perfect, near to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Montrose. We saw elk, turkeys, blue birds from the cabin. Gary was very helpful and we had fresh eggs from the ranch in the fridge!

Tranquil Ranch With Kind Hosts

We were only here for two nights, but wish we could've stayed longer and hope to visit again! Gary and Laurie Ann were very communicative and welcoming. The property boasts stunning views and the cabin is cozy & comfortable. My partner and I were visiting the area to hike the Blue Lakes trail near ridgeway, but will definitely be planning a longer stay to explore more of the surrounding areas and the Black Canyon National Park next time around. The property is conveniently located within relatively short drives to multiple scenic routes and mountain towns!

Rustic cabin experience

The host was very gracious and responsive to our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed their property (including the dogs and horses) and were close to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

Excellent!

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful cabin. Saw elk, deer , turkeys and a fox. Horses and miniature horses on the farm. Location was perfect for Black Canyon of the Gunnison visit. Montrose was great for walking, shopping and eating.

Little peace of heaven

The cottage was peaceful and had amazing views. Enjoyed petting the horses and dogs!! The host were great people and very accommodating!! Wildlife in the field almost every evening. Great place away from town!

Beautiful Farm/Cabin and a Perfect Location

The location was prefect. Very close to the entrance to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The property has beautiful views of The San Juan Mountains and The Black Canyon National Park. The sunsets on the farm was just amazing as the property. Gary was a wonderful host. He gave us great tips on places to fly fish and places to see in the area during our stay. The property is exactly as described. The cabin is well equipped and very cozy. Very peaceful and a great place to stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Location

The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. We enjoyed the quiet location, the friendly conversations with Gary, and visits with Tucker and Pearl! The cabin is close to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and it is an excellent location to recharge your batteries.

Great Location for Black Canyon

We had a wonderful stay at the Black Canyon Cottage. We were greeted by the owners who lived on the property, and had some nice conversations with them. The cabin is small, as expected, but it was a cozy place to spend a couple days on our way through.

Unique and cozy cabin

Hosts were inviting and such a pleasure to meet. Cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable bed! So fun visiting the horses on property and sweet dogs. Great location for visiting black canyon park.

Peace and Tranquility

What a beautiful place. Perfect place to chill out and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the location. We enjoyed bonfires in evenings after exploring all the beauty of the area. Hosts were fantastic and we loved all the critters on property.

Great cottage close to Black Canyon National Park

This cottage was perfect. Short drive to the national park. Located on a beautiful horse property. Cottage offers privacy and is very quiet. Cottage amenities accurately disclosed on VRBO. Great spot to come back to after a long day of hiking at the national park.

Bunkhouse near Montrose

My hesitation to give a 5 star is mostly because I didn’t understand how far remived the property is from town and other “vacation spots “. The ranch was beautiful—the REAL Colorado! Accomodations were decent—my husband wasn’t impressed with cleanliness. I enjoyed the quiet. I should have asked about WiFi—and should not have been surprised that there wasn’t any. So the time we could have spent sitting by a fire under a starfilled sky we were in town using internet for my husband’s work. I don’t think the owners texted at all—they didn’t respond to my texts. I enjoyed interacting with Gary. Never did get to meet LaurieAnn. It’s a good location for Black Canyon, but 2 hours to anywhere else.

Peaceful gateaway

We booked this lodging last minute and were blown away by the positive experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot (no wifi, no internet connection, no texts) in beautiful Colorado high-mountain countryside, this is for you. The place is rustic and exudes cowboy/cowgirl charm. The bed is super comfortable, a plus for us! Our hosts were very discreet and helpful.
