Lovely, private with plenty of room. Very peaceful.

Great overall experience. We stayed for 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. We love winter in Cape May. Many of the shops are still open and all of the great restaurants.

Charming getaway

Kay and John’s thoughtfully renovated apartment is meticulously cared for and a perfect beach living oasis. The cottage charm combined with sitting above the garage with tree lined windows was not unlike spending the weekend in a large treehouse! The location down a long driveway also offered a very private experience which is so increasingly rare in beach towns. This is a must stay for couples who are looking for proximity to town without the foot traffic, with a half mile bike ride to the cape May point beaches and light house. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful stay

Great out of the way quiet location. Needed a secluded spot that gave us some down time. Close to town and historic district but just out of the way enough for some quiet. Owners were very helpful. Easy in and easy out. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Cozy and comfortable, excellent location, super hosts.

This is a perfect place to stay in the Cape May area. It's not in the heart of the tourist madness area, but nearer by the lighthouse. It's easy to get to everything in the area. It's also a quiet neighborhood. The owners were welcoming and it's obvious they take pride in their rental property. I enjoyed spending time there. It had everything I needed.

Spring Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here with our dog. The location was great. Five minute drive to restaurants, bars, stores, and other downtown attractions. We loved staying in a more peaceful, natural location near the Point. Very close to beautiful places such as Beach Plum farm and Willow Creek Winery. Beach chairs and bikes were available to us. The rental itself was light and airy - better than the photos, in our opinion! Seamless booking process.

Easter in Cape May 2023

What better way to spend Easter ! Cape May Point was especially beautiful with the trees and flowers in bloom. The property was exactly as described. Everything was ready for our arrival and perfect. We plan on returning in the fall for fall migration. Kay the owner was quick to respond to any questions and offered any needed assistance.

"Point" Perfect

This is a very sunny & cozy apartment which is dog friendly, a quick drive into town & area attractions. It is located across the street from a state park.I enjoyed my very early morning walks hearing the sound of the waves in the distance & the morning bird songs. We were lucky to hit a long weekend that had great weather so we enjoyed walking along beaches both ocean side & on the bay. We are frequent visitors to Cape May, working our way through the wide assortment of restaurants, so while the kitchen is very well appointed, we had little need except for morning coffee! We had great communication with the hosts & look forward to our next stay.

Lovely apartment in a great location

Lovely apartment in a great location. Quiet, pretty, snug, comfortable apartment, perfect for two people. Kitchen was very well appointed but near good restaurants. The property is located across from both Nature Conservancy and State Conservation areas. Near the Cape May lighthouse and beach. We had a great stay.

Beautiful December Getaway...

Came with 2 family members to this beautiful spot in lower Cape May. I am a regular traveler to the area and this is one of the nicest places I've stayed. Clean, quaint, beautifully decorated, with all the amenities we could need. It didn't hurt that we had spring-like weather for the long weekend. Perfect communication from the hosts, who left clear directions. I look forward to returning in the future.

Welcoming cottage-y apartment.

It was obvious from the moment we entered the apartment that Kay and John put a lot of thought into the comfort and ease of their guests. The kitchen is adorable with butcher block counters, glass-fronted cabinets and funky light fixtures. Bathroom is a good size with stone floor and more unique lighting. The apartment, though small, feels spacious with high ceilings and a minimalist approach to decorating. We felt at home rather than in a generic rental property. We also enjoyed chatting with John and Kay about their fig trees and other plantings and meeting their impressively large and beautiful garden spider. A special surprise for us was being able to enter the marsh trails that lead to the Hawk Watch platform from a new entrance on Seagrove. This lovely property exceeded our expectations. Thanks, Kay and John!

My husband and I were living in Texas, I'd retired from teaching and was having fun with a design business I'd started. My family has great memories of growing up summers in the old family cottage on a lake in MA, and we all still take turns using the cottage. Yet, we'd always wanted a place of our own and were looking for a fixer-upper older home near the ocean. This is the house which came with an apartment above the detached offset garage. At first sight, most would have considered both a tear down, but inside, the house was full of light and the apartment was an extra. While my husband stayed home working, I spent from Nov.to mid June, 2005, chipping, scraping, sanding, painting, sewing, hauling, and planting. Add the all important work of admired carpenters, plumbers and electricians and we now have our most loved 'little' house.
In 2009 the apartment was gutted to get rid of rot and fix structural problems. Another winter spent in the house(thank goodness not living in spackling dust) and the apartment came to life when being reborn in what was already it's bones. Before it was dreary and in sad shape, now it's one of the most uplifting, welcoming places I think can be and I am surprised myself. As the carpenters tore it apart, I could stand inside after they left each day and feel what it would be like if I did this or that. It begged for character! The location helps( open the windows and hear the sea), plus looking out through fig trees adds green-ness and privacy, but it now feels so welcoming, quite hard to describe. It came from humble beginnings and had a life well lived, but now it is what it knew it could be. Whatever it is that makes for a good feel, this little apartment loves to be lived in and is quite welcoming.

Why they chose this property

Cape May is beautiful, historic, and offers so much to do and be involved in, the town is charming. Cape May Point, down the road a little bit, has kept that very rare (any more) summer place feel we wanted. A person can bike any place they want to go if they feel like it. The beaches are wonderful, you can lounge and read and watch the dolphins play. Fishermen fish from certain beaches and jetties, there are lifeguards and good swimming beaches. The whole area of Cape May Point is green with trees and grass. With Cape May Bird Observatory's Hawkwatch close by, bring your binoculars, grab a bike, borrow a birding book, and head on down to the platform by the lighthouse.

What makes this property unique

Instead of having sidewalks where visitors stroll, we're able to have woods across the street belonging to an old estate. Seagrove is an old beautiful street, delightful to bike, walk, and live on. Most days you hear the surf and with all the trees, we've got birds aplenty singing their songs. It's a happy inviting sort of place. We're close to the lighthouse and Hawk Watch, Nature Conservancy and walking trails, a winery, plus the Plum Beach Farm, and have all the Point beaches to choose from. Sometimes you just get on a bike and ride through the Point having a marvelous time. The flag ceremony at Sunset Beach is a bike ride away; once you go and take in the ceremony honoring a veteran, you'll think about going more often. Soon after the ceremony it's a good place to watch the sunset. If you want to stay home, well, you just pull out a chair and relax on the balcony or in the private courtyard.
