At first sight the house rather resembles a Greek chapel. The holiday house belongs to an Austrian architect who once chose this beautiful piece of land to build his refuge. The rather “extravagant” house is now for rent.
The holiday house AGERANOS is located above the sea with a wonderful view of Ageranos and Kamares bay, on the eastern coast of the Mani region. A huge natural garden property and the quiet and idyllic Mediterranean landscape surround the detached house. The house is practically furnished, sight-protected from the land side and opens up to the sea side with several balcony doors. The house is flooded with light, has a high vaulted ceiling, clear shapes and colours and a puristic furnishing that please the eye. The long-stretched room is separated into a sleeping area, the open kitchen and the adjoining bathroom. The partly roofed front terrace offers a breath-taking sea view and stretches around two sides of the house. It is a perfectly idyllic holiday spot that invites you to sunbath, dream and relax.

rstaunlich. Wahrscheinlich das beste Haus/die beste Wohnung, in der ich je übernachtet habe (und ich reise sehr oft). Ein ganzes Haus mit allen Annehmlichkeiten, die ein Mensch oder eine Familie braucht, um mehrere Tage zu bleiben (voll ausgestattete Küche mit allen Geräten, Backofen, großer Kühlschrank, Grill, Tische). Unglaubliche Aussicht auf das Meer. Abends hört man das Spritzen der Wellen auf den Felsen. Ruhig, ruhig und friedlich. Einfacher und schöner Mani-Garten mit Olivenbäumen und Kaktusbirnen. Ein tolles Restaurant auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite, das Menschen aus der gesamten Umgebung sammelt (aber ohne die Ruhe des Hauses in irgendeiner Weise zu stören). Schöne Architektur und Stil. Visueller Kontakt zu den historischen Türmen des mächtigen Mani-Patriarchen von Grigorakides. Automatische Markise auf der Terrasse für Sonnenschutz. Ich hätte mein ganzes Leben in diesem Haus übernachten können! Nur Negative, die abgenutzten/verschmutzten Kissen auf den Terrassenliegen und die Waschmaschine funktionieren nicht.

Beautiful view, but...

The house is in a remote location of South-East Mani. The view from the terrace is gorgeous and the house well equipped, but: - the outdoor is poorly cared of and, especially, - we had a tough problem of water supply. Sometime, during the day, no water at all. We advised both the local reference person who did not show activity and said " it was normal in that location" and the agency/owner which, instead, tried to understand the problem. As a matter of fact it resulted a water pumping problem which was (hopefully) solved after our depart. Another issue was the terrace coverage expected to be present but actually was not and, in spite of declaration of the local person, not restored while we were there. Anyway, we acknowledge the property for a modest refund for these inconvenients (that of water for 10 days was heavy, indeed). To conclude: if issues are solved and if the outdoor is improved the place surely deserves a vacation.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the house. We liked the design which allows total privacy, the flooring and the many windows. The bed was comfortable, the outside shower fantastic. The beautiful terrace was sunny all day and we could have lingered more on the deck chairs if there had been a proper awning for some shade. Although the road is just behind the house, you hardly hear any noise, so it is quiet. The location is great too with a small supermarket and vegetable seller only a few minutes away by car. The owners of these shops are lovely. We also recommend the taverna across the road. The food was excellent and the owner looks after the house, so we felt safe knowing that. Of course, you have a great choice of beaches. The ones we liked best are about 30 minutes drive further south. All in all, this house is a special place and we were sad to leave.

The house is faithful to what was expected: a magnificent view of the sea, an Olympian calm, a very practical and functional house, ideal for a couple, with everything you need. The region is splendid. Too bad for the garden which could be so beautiful but remains neglected.

Quelle vue magnifique et quelle paix. La maison est adorable, pratique pour y vivre, dans un environnement paisible. Dommage pour le jardin qui pourrait être si beau mais reste négligé. Une région splendide à découvrir à partir de Vathi.

Originelles, dabei zweckmäßig eingerictetes Haus in wunderbarer Lage: Der Blick von der Terrasse auf den Lakonischen Golf und die angrenzenden Ufer ist überwältigend. Inzwischen auch mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet, so dass die nächtliche Wärme ihren Schrecken verliert. Sehr ländlich, aber nicht wirklich abgelegen: Githio ist in erreichbarer Nähe, und für kleinere Einkäufe stehen Läden in geringer Entfernung zur Verfügung. Die Taverne gegenüber ist ebenso empfehlenswert wie der Inhaber polyglott. Auch die Wege zu schönen und nicht überlaufenen Stränden sind nicht weit. Wir haben uns als Familie zu dritt hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können uns gut vorstellen, wieder zu kommen.

Ein tolles Haus mit großartiger Terrasse, die einen weiten Blick aufs Meer ermöglicht. Das Haus ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet, die Ansprechpartner vor Ort reagieren schnell und unkompliziert. Größter und im Hochsommer wirklich bedeutsamer Minuspunkt ist die fehlende Klimaanlage (und nur deshalb nur 4 Sterne), der existierende Ventilator verschafft in heißen Sommernächten keine Erleichterung. Die Terasse sollte tatsächlich umfänglicher und funktionsfähiger mit einer Markise versehen werden, sonst ist der traumhafte Ausblick nicht gleich morgens sonnengeschützt möglich.

Quirky house, fully equipped

This was a charming property, set on a hill overlooking the sea on a largely private location between Kamares and Vathi (Ageranos). One large room (with a shower/WC separating the living area from the sleeping area) with multiple doors leading out to a patio area with a wonderful view. It has everything you need. In mid September the stock in the nearby shops (Vathi) is a bit limited. For anything other than the basics... buy before you get there. One major plus... There's a really good taverna just across the road (30 seconds walk from gate to table). He may close for a couple of weeks in November 2020 (but may not, because of The Bloody Virus), but otherwise is open all the time. A bit dearer than you'd expect for an out-of-the-way location, but the quality of the food... and the sense of humour of the owner... more than make up for that,

Das Haus ist sehr schön an einer Bucht gelegen. Man erreicht von dort mit dem Auto mehrere Strände. Am schönsten ist die Terrasse, auf der es jedoch im Sommer sehr heiß und der Sonnenschutz nur gering ist. Sie ist nicht einsehbar und man hat seine vollkommene Ruhe. Sehr praktisch ist auch die Außendusche. Direkt gegenüber des Hauses befindet sich ein sehr gutes Restaurant, dessen Besitzer fließend deutsch spricht. Es war insgesamt ein sehr gelungener und erholsamer Urlaub. Im Haus befindet sich keine Klimaanlage, weshalb es nachts oft sehr heiß ist. Der Sonnenschutz auf der Terrasse könnte verbessert werden.

Sehr schön gelegenes, einfaches Ferienhaus für 2 Personen. Mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet. Sauber, gute Betten, seeeehr ruhig, mit fantastischer Aussicht aufs Meer. Auf der Terrasse zu frühstücken ist ein Traum! Kleiner Wermutstropfen ist der verwilderte Garten und der fehlende Zugang zum Meer. Ein Punkt Abzug wegen der periodisch anspringenden Hebepumpe (?), welche das Abwasser in die unterirdische Sickergrube pumpt. Dauert zwar nur ein paar Sekunden und man gewöhnt sich dran, allerdings ist es nachts dann doch manchmal störend.

La casa è proprio come ce l’aspettavamo dalle foto: anzi al di sopra delle nostre aspettative. Bellissimi momenti passati a guardare lo stupendo mare. La casa, semplice ma bellissima, è rifornita di tutto. È luminosissima con tante porte finestre che danno sul terrazzo. Gli host sono superlativi.

Hallo, nachdem ich letztes Jahr schon einmal in dem Haus war und ich damals die etwas desolaten Matratzen bemängelt hatte, hat es mich sehr gefreut, dass dieses Jahr neue Matratzen vorhanden waren. Vielen dank die waren super !! Als einen weiteren Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre anzumerken, dass das Moskitonetz an der einen Terrassentüre schon etwas in die Tage gekommen ist. es wäre schön wenn es einen Moskitonetz Rollo gäbe, dann könnte man den Fensterladen offen lassen und nur das Netz herunter machen und man braucht keine Angst zu haben, das etwas unter dem Netz hindurch krabbelt. Besonders wenn es sehr warme Nächte sind ist die Belüftung des Schlafbereichs etwas ungünstig. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Matthias Eisele
