the apartment is super well located, very pretty and very practicalJoost is very friendlyWe are delighted with our stay. We will come back with pleasure!Merci beaucoup
We had a fantastic stay at Jan's apartment. He was there to meet us on arrival, and was happy to give us lots of tips for having a great time in Amsterdam. The apartment was large and comfortable, and in an absolutely perfect location for us. We could easily walk or take the tram to all the major museums and sites, but got to leave the tourists behind and come home to a neighbourhood where we were surrounded but Dutch people. The local streets are very pretty and have all the amenities we could want. We really felt at home.
quintessential European flat in a great neighborhood
We had a great holiday week in this very cute flat in a great neighborhood. Spacious, clean, and the outdoor garden area was great. Our host was so kind--he provided snacks and was there to show us around despite my mistake on our arrival time. Great neighborhood close to public transit and good bars and restaurants. Can walk to museums and city centre (if you aren't in a hurry).
In the center of Amsterdam at a great price point.
A lovely first floor apartment with a separate bedroom large great room and access to a patio area. The owner is very responsive. The price point is similar to a studio in the same area. We were able to easily catch the great public transit system to the Rembrandt and Van Gough Museums and the Anne Frank house as well as part take in several great restaurants in a two block radius.
My sister and I (both over 70) stayed for a week in this super-convenient ground floor apartment. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and strong and the Nespresso was life altering. The layout of the apartment was strange for an American (tiny room for the WC, shower in the same room as the sink with no curtain) but everything worked great and the sitting/dining/kitchen area was a big relaxing space. I should say that we didn’t cook in the kitchen, preferring neighborhood restaurants (all pretty darn spectacular) but for a simple breakfast and lunch the kitchen is adequate (there is no microwave). The WiFi was great, and the TV worked fine though we didn’t watch it. We didn’t use the washing machine or the dishwasher. The apartment is an easy 1 mile walk to the Museum District; indeed we walked everywhere, up to 6 miles a day, rarely using the tram, though it goes everywhere. Our host was pleasant and unobtrusive and he checked by text on how we were doing at the halfway point. He helped with locations of a grocery store and restaurants. Overall, we were delighted with our stay and I would recommend this apartment highly for location, comfort and price.
This apartment is in a lovely part of Amsterdam and feels much less touristy but is within easy reach on foot or by tram all the sights in the central districts. It is just off a bustling street with numerous restaurants and nice cafés and bars. None of the noise from this reached the apartment. The apartment is spacious and welcoming and the hosts were very kind to allow us to check in slightly early and leave slightly late. The also welcomed us in person when we arrived which was great.
We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious apartment. It is in a great neighbour with everything you need (grocery store, gear restaurants and bars, close to Vondelpark and trams).
I always appreciate when the bed is really comfortable; the shower is great; and the apartment is quiet. This apartment gets top marks.
Easy communication with our hosts made it even easier for us.
Great spacious apartment. Excellent location, in a convenient, safe neighbourhood. Two trams close by to get around the city. Lots of cafes and restaurants right around the corner and two grocery stores within a block or so. Hosts were very helpful and always answered questions quickly. Highly recommend
Easy check-in with the owners which included a lovely welcome basket of including croissants, coffee, tea, orange juice, Dutch cookies and a few yummy sweets. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and condiments, too. We arrived by tram with our suitcases, but the rest of the time we walked everywhere. There are lots of nice restaurants & cafes just a few steps away and a great little grocery store just across the street. The train station was a 52 minute walk away, so it would have been better if it was a wee bit closer, as we went of many day trips but overall we enjoyed staying at this lovely flat very much!
We really enjoyed our location. It was in a neighborhood which allowed us to meet locals and interact. Very close to park, large apartment, transit was close and easy. We like having the TV in sorbet room, and able to shop and cook some meals. Very homey, and Joist and wife greeted us at 1 am in the morning due to flights. Very thoughtful and kind host.
Lovely apartment, well-equipped kitchen, great location
Perfect spot to be our ‘home base’ while in Amsterdam. The hosts had good restaurant recommendations and were helpful with navigating the neighbourhood.
The owner was very cooperative about an early check-in, which we greatly appreciated. The flat is on the ground floor but the street is fairly quiet and the backyard is a nice plus. Great location for walking everywhere. A little basic in terms of furniture but more or less everything you need is there. All in all, a great find.
Close to tram lines, coffee shops, bakeries, and Vondelpark. Easy tram rides to museums. Vibrant neighborhood, mostly quiet except on weekend nights. The apartment is comfortable, though still a work in progress. The shower is great and the bed is comfortable. Our hosts were welcoming, easy to communicate with, and flexible about arrival/departure times.
Rachel and Jan are amazing hosts. I showed up and there was some fruit, some juice, some nuts and some fresh Dutch cookies waiting for me. They gave me the lay of the land and identified all of the great places to eat in the neighborhood. This is an incredible location. The street is beautiful and safe and there are so many great restaurants within 50 m of the apartment. You absolutely cannot get a better deal on a beautiful place to stay in Amsterdam. There is plenty of room and an updated walk-in shower and a full kitchen and seating area. I would not only recommend these hosts and this location to others, I would absolutely stay here again!
Location, location, location. A beautiful walk through Vondelpark to the Rijks and Van Gogh museums.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this perfect spot to visit Amsterdam. A comfy bed and well stocked apartment with a sweet neighborhood with bakeries, pubs and shopping right around the corner. A tram stop two blocks away to access greater Amsterdam. The hosts, Joost and Rachel were a great help and made our experience even better.
The apartment is in a great location, close to Vondelpark and tramlines. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. I only hope this is available next time we go.
We loved our stay. Owner was very helpful and went out of her way for us!! Location was great. FYI If you plan to visit Van Gogh on your own then book in advance.
The apartment was beautiful and spacious. The hosts were very welcoming. Located near a lot of restaurants and coffee shops, but on a quiet street. I would definitely stay here in the future if I visit Amsterdam again.
