We had a great time! The home is clean and cozy; we had 3 adults and 2 dogs, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The first-floor bedroom was perfect for my handicapped mother.
We were close enough to the beach to take the dogs on walks, and far enough from town that we felt relaxed.
Thank you for a wonderful time! We’re grateful for your hospitality.
Our family has stayed at several different NJ beaches and homes and this was everyone's favorite. There were so many reasons we loved the home - the privacy in the woods, the perfect size for our family, the downstairs bedroom and bathroom, the large kitchen, the supplies for everything, the proximity to the bay, couches were unbelievable comfortable, etc. I especially liked how there was space to put our belongings in different living areas. The communication and easy check-in were perfect. The neighborhood was fantastic and peaceful. The beds were top rate! We would love to come back again!
Very nice house, backs to a nature preserve. Short walk to bay beach, which is one of the rare beaches on the eastern seaboard that allows dogs in the summertime. Quiet neighborhood. A great stay.
Very nice house and nice location. One block from the beach in a section of Cape May that doesn’t get too crowded. This house can comfortably hold six people. Kitchen was fully equipped. Spacious backyard with a nice fire pit is a bonus.
Nestled in a wooded area adjacent to a preserve, the house is very quiet with a cozy firepit and picnic area in back. An outdoor shower helps keep sand to a minimum indoors. Beach chairs and umbrella are in an easily accessible shack in back. All beds and furniture are comfortable and the layout indoors is perfect for multigenerational living. An open floorplan with large patio on the first floor (and one offset bedroom with large closet, two large dressers and bath) provides ample space for multiple concurrent activities. Two bedrooms, ample closet space and dressers, and a bathroom with walk-in shower are available upstairs. Dogs are permitted, but not being dog owners, we are glad that was not evident (they provide towels for wiping down your pet before allowing it indoors). The house is located about 1 block from the bay (you do have to cross a 2-way road) and about a mile from a very popular and delicious beachfront restaurant. The owners provide suggestions for multiple activities within easy driving distance. We drove to the Atlantic side of the cape and are SO glad we stayed here as it is much quieter and we virtually had the beach to ourselves! All in all, we highly recommend this home for a peaceful family getaway.
The property was clean, well maintained, modern amenities, great location, easy to figure out entrance, television, washing machine, microwave, household directions etc.
Perfect location for a long holiday weekend stay. We were able to bring our furry family member with us since the house was pet friendly. Erin was very responsive with my multiple questions and the house was immaculate. Great experience and highly recommend!
Lovely home. Close to the beautiful bay with the most amazing sun sets.. Beach was very relaxing. Enjoyed cooking for my family in the well stocked kitchen
I had come to Cape May for a four day bird watching experience with some guided walks. However the Hurricane Ian came and with the wind and rain the walks were canceled and I was unable to do any bird watching the last three days. I called the landlord to say I was leaving early. I really did not expect any money back. But she called VRBO and told them the situation and I got a nice amount back. That was certainly very nice and next time I come to Cape May I will try and stay here. It is a lovely house next to some woods. Great place for a birding home base.
The property was exceptionally clean, nicely furnished, and stocked with everything one could need plus a lot of wonderful amenities. The location was perfect - quiet, a short walk to the bay, and close to town and restaurants. The host was helpful, friendly and responsive. This was a perfect choice for us.
At the last minute, our family decided to take a vacation to the “shore”or beach depending on where you grew up. I searched the VRBO website and found Erin’s beautiful home, located close to the bay beach (1 block) and near a state park which is literally the back yard of the home. A very beautiful, quite and relaxing setting.
Upon entering Waldhaus, you immediately feel at home. The presentation of the home on VRBO is highly accurate with some other surprises. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would have at your own home. The outdoor shower is a dream, the backyard is inviting and the frozen beer steins were a nice surprise.
Our stay at Waldhaus was the best vacation we’ve experienced at the Shore. We hope to return in the very near future.
