About this property

Beautiful Barbados Property On the Beach. No Driving, No Packing Up.

Location
Number 7 is nestled on a white sand beach on the “Platinum Coast,” the calm Caribbean Sea side of Barbados. Number 7, Freshwater Bay is situated in a small complex, with beautifully maintained lush gardens. Our cheery, clean, tropical ground floor home is built for the beach: Tile floors, lots of outdoor seating, and an open kitchen plan so you don't miss out on the sea view or guests while you cook!
There’s a grill in the garden for your use, sunbeds and a gazebo.

Beach
You can stroll a good mile in either direction on the quiet beach, collecting sea shells or having a drink at a Beach Bar. Watch from afar as the cruise ships maneuver into and out of port, tour the island or stay on the beach all day long, swimming in the fabulous calm waters, hunting for Sand Dollars or watching an occasional Sea Turtle. Time slows down here.

Ambiance
After a stay at Freshwater Bay you will know you have experienced beautiful Barbados, not some all-inclusive hotel, crammed in with other tourists.

Nearby
We are in a neighborhood – actually it’s a quaint fishing village which we believe is paradise.
If you don't want to venture any further than across the road, you can visit 'Jack's Bush Bar,' listed in Zagat’s as famous for pork chops and noisy Thursday night Karaoke. Or Collin’s is across the road as well.

Or, support the local fishermen next door and buy the freshest fish or lobster possible.

We are 7 minutes by car from Bridgetown, the Soccer/cricket stadium, and shops galore. 20 minutes to Holetown. Carlton's supermarket, in Black Rock, is close, 7 minutes by car or a 15-20 minute walk. Massey's Groceries, or Cost U Less Groceries in Warrens, is a short drive away. Also up the road is a petrol/convenience store open 24/7. Homesick for Pizza or hot dogs? It's the place!

There's lots to do in Barbados - festivals, homes tours, walking tours, botanical gardens, and of course rum tours. We are on the West coast where there is a plethora of wonderful dining spots. Street food is fabulous, good portions and cheap compared to restaurants!

Security
Our complex features CCTV that covers car park and other outside areas for your protection.

Apt 7

We appreciated the good communication with the landlady, the apartment had a lovely garden and on a beach. However, it was located next to a power plant, a public beach which brought in loud crowds and music, and several roosters who were the very early morning alarm clock. The advertised Bush Pub across the street was open one evening just for a beer, no famous pork chops, and the Thursday Karaoke was actually late Friday night and went until 2:00 AM. Do not stay in the end Apartment #7. Things are not walking distance, so rent a car. We were able to find a very helpful Taxi driver. Barbados is reopening after a lock down from Covid and many places are still closed, so call before going anywhere. We enjoyed the lovely and friendly people of Barbados, and wish them well with reopening their country.

Found it!!

after 4 years of searching for a place to return to on Barbados, we have found it. The apartment and grounds are beautiful. proximity to Bridgetown and the South Coast could not be better. Morning strolling on the beach was amazing and the vistas are stunning. Judy, the property manager, is professional, considerate, and easy to talk to. We will be returning next year, and hopefullu many years to come!

Quiet seaside hideaway

We’re just finishing a weeklong stay and are not looking forward to leaving. The beach apartment had many features that we found to fit our needs. The neighborhood comes with a rum shop, fish market and unfortunately, a power plant. Nevermind the power plant, it’s a minor, but necessary distraction from an otherwise beautiful vacation spot. We would consider it a privilege to stay here again.

We had the most amazing stay!

This property is exactly what we needed to relax by the beach, every minute of our stay was fantastic. We had a minor issue with one of the toilet during our stay (not their fault) and it was dealt with immediately. Thank you for a beautiful holiday!

Fabulous!

It’s hard to find all the ways to discuss how much we enjoyed our stay at the Beautiful Barbados Beachfront Property Judy Marshall was incredibly helpful and responsive to our inquiries and requests. We were greeted with her friendly smile and found everything we needed in the apartment. Nikki who cleaned the apartment before we got there did an immaculate job. The place was clean, bright and shinny. Both her and Judy sincerely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The garden and grounds of the condo were like a little piece of paradise thanks to Carl, the gardener, who was also very friendly and helpful. It is absolutely beachfront and the beach is very private. We swam in the warm clear ocean every day and on several occasions walked up the beach to Batts Rock Beach to eat at the beach front cafe. We found it very easy to get around by bus. Some of the exceptional highlights of our trip were going to the art gallery in Speightstown and eating at The Fish Pot restaurant. Visiting Holetown and snorkeling at Folkestone Marine Park and Museum, walking around Bridgetown and going to Oistins Friday night and eating at the restaurant where Nikki works. We had a BBQ party on the condo grounds Saturday night with our daughter’s friends at UWI and Nikki made the salad for us in the traditional Bajan style. Thank You Nikki! The last day of our stay we hired a driver recommended by Judy and Nikki who took use to Animal Flowers Cave, Cherry Tree Hill and the East coast shoreline. I would highly recommend a trip to Barbados and staying at the apartment at Spring Garden if you want a relaxing, peaceful and clean and private place to stay.

Week Vacation in Barbados Beachfront Property

Our stay at freshwaterbay was magnificent. It is well worth it to stay in a beachfront property to get a relaxing experience. Waking up to the beautiful view of turquoise water and watching the sunset in the evening was a magical experience. The property itself was clean, and open. We spent a lot of time in the porch area looking at the water. I guess the only set back was there was no shampoo provided, but we just bought some at the local grocery. The road to arrive at the apartments were a little worrisome as there is a big factory nearby. But when at the beach property, we hardly noticed it. The beach by the property is really for walks and the water is great for swimming. All in all the experience was great and definitely worth the extra cost rather than staying in an airbnb 10 min away from the beach.

Bajen holiday

This was a very relaxing week surrounded by blue water and sand, far from snow and closed schools and workplaces. We enjoyed toasting the sunsets from the patio on day one, and floating peacefully in the crystal blue water on lazy mornings just steps from the patio and wandering along beaches past palms, coral and bougainvillea, ginger and Bird of Paradise flowers. The community of like minded tenants were friendly and helpful, sharing favorite day trips and island favorite destinations . We enjoyed several very nice, sophisticated restaurants and several authentic Bajen menu features, rum bars and walk-up shops. We had breakfast at the Polo field while attending a craft fair. All part of the experience of Barbados. The cuisine was wonderful and the fresh fish plentiful from flying fish to barracuda. The tropical plants and foliage were indescribably beautiful at every stop throughout the island. We deplaned and stopped on the way home to tour a local rum distillery dating back centuries; we ended the week relaxing in a private garden tucked into this tropical paradise. You will find a car necessary to get to the many special towns and sites but it is easy to find your way. Take friends or family and rejuvenate yourselves and enjoy a week you will not soon forget.

Paradise Found

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the apartment. We couldn't have had a better time. The accommodations were ideal, including the spectacular view. We took long watches on the beach and captured the sunset every evening perched up on the brick wall. I highly recommend this getaway!

If you want to just relax and enjoy the view and not have to worry about any thing, then this is the place. If you're upset about something, just wait until the morning and the view and the sound of the surf will take it all away.We had ten wonderful days here and were treated like family. The apartment was very clean, the beds were excellent and the decor was A1. If you want to do a lot of sightseeing you really should have a car but there is great taxi service available. The owners were staying there at their apartment during our stay and did everything to make our stay very enjoyable. This must be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that we saw on our last morning.Truly a small piece of Paradise.

Bert and I (Susan) love this place! We lead active lives in Kansas in the USA, yes Dorothy, the Land of OZ, and delight in the slower pace of Barbados. We love the great restaurants here, and as ex-restaurateurs, used to go out every evening, but now, more often that not, we buy fish from the guys next door, cook and dine on our own beach. We have made many friends among the guests and the best thing for us is that there is always someone to hang out with, or you can be totally reclusive if you wish. It's kind of like old college days, where you can go from unit to unit finding out what everyone did that day, hitch a ride to the grocery store, share a book, or get the scoop on what sights to see or where to go. The staff here is exceptional, Judy will help you have a fabulous time, tell you what to do, what not to do and arrange trips, car hire and boat rides, etc. Dog lovers that we are, we love it here so much, thru the years we have brought back three beach dogs!

Why they chose this property

The outside of the apartments have just been freshly painted and look great!
We purchased our duplex at Freshwater Bay in 1985 after my husband fell in love with this area. We add amenities and focus on one new project each year. The bathrooms were recently remodeled. In 2012 we put in new stoves, refrigerators and new windows. In 2014 we replaced the doors and curtains in both units and in 2016 installed a beautiful new tile floor upstairs. Mosquito curtains were installed on the upstairs balcony this year. Our big project in fall 2019 will be a complete demolition of the downstairs kitchen and installation of granite countertops and beautiful cabinets. There are new twin beds in the second bedroom upstairs and a new air conditioner in the second downstairs bedroom.

The swimming on our beach is fabulous, with great sea shell specimens, interesting coral and sea glass to be found. Freshwater Bay is old Barbados – not overbuilt. The beach is quiet, not full of tourists. Walk North up the beach a bit to see where Four Seasons is building a posh resort. I can walk for a mile without seeing another person some days. Stroll South if you're more of a people watcher, and you’ll go by the Power Plant, (the only flaw in our paradise) Mt. Gay Rum, Cockspur, Weiser's Beach Bar, and the Brighten beach community, a lovely quiet, neighborhood of beach homes.

We enjoy the fact that Freshwater Bay is its own little United Nations: British, Canadian, American, and local owners. As they say in Barbados, “All Visitors Welcome!”

What makes this property unique

Our Barbados home is very comfortable, decorated in tropical colors with spacious bedrooms. We are on the quiet side of the complex. The staff make the experience fantastic, from the manager Judy Marshall, to Carl the gardener and Nikki, the housekeeper. They are proud of their island and understand the true meaning of hospitality. There is true camaraderie here. Bert & I know you will enjoy this peaceful, unique spot. ALSO, if you are traveling with other families and need more room the condo above & behind is available as well.
