This home was perfect for my family's lake vacation! Located just seconds away from the boat ramp, it was so nice to be able to pull the boat up to the dock and run inside for a quick bite to eat. The living space is a little on the small side, but fit our family of three fine. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and gave us plenty of room to spread out. The home is well represented in the listing and is decorated beautifully.
We decided to get away this year for thanksgiving and this was just the perfect relaxing retreat that we needed! 2 kids and 2 dogs had an amazing time playing in the backyard. The landscaping is dreamy and well thought out creating an open play space, winding lit pathway, firepit, and outdoor dining area. The back porch was great for morning coffee and listening to the birds. The long front driveway gives the whole property a real private feeling. Walking the dogs in the neighborhood was pleasant and there are 2 cul de sacs eliminating any traffic concerns while walking. Kayaks come with the rental but it was too cold and windy this trip, however the dock area is shallow and would be perfect for putting in the water in warmer weather. Also, we loved that the house is on a shallow cove so we didn't have to worry about my young son falling into deep water while playing in the yard. This location is great for accessing many things to do nearby:
- Hiking at rock hawk park -- there are pretty trails with outdoor education on animals/plants, native American rock scuplture, playground, boat ramp
- Publix, restaurants, and shops near Reynolds Plantation is only 15 minutes away
- Boat rental at Wild Oconee was easy to book online and only 15 minutes away
- Downtown Greensboro, GA is a cute area about 30 minutes away. They have an old jail that the kids could check out a key and explore that was really fun. Don't miss RipeThing market and Genuine GA store.
- The house also had scrabble and chess which provided lots of tech-free family fun!
- It's not the Ritz inside but it was cozy and great for the price!
