IMPORTANT NOTE: This cabin is NOT located, nor does it have access to our farm, Mountain Magic Resort! You have your own private petting zoo, but not access to our farm with the swings and slide, bird estuary, creek, fishing pond, trampoline, ziplines, etc.

Easy access into Boone (15 mins), Valle Crucis (10 mins) and over to Banner Elk (20 mins). Skiing and Blowing Rock within 25 minutes!

RULES:
$75 pet fee (typically 1 dog under 50 pounds), more than one dog or a larger dog, please inquire. Our farm animals prefer to be the largest animals on property!

The entire property is yours. Three levels with the upstairs being a private loft King bedroom. Cozy enough for a couple (half of our guests), but enough space for up to 6 guests. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, enjoy the built-in fire pit and hot tub, enjoy our seasonal waterfall and slowed down the farm life! Enjoy your private yard, the acreage housing our animals (donkeys, goats, pig & some ducks/rooster). The animals live off the land, so you are not responsible for caring for the animals, however, should you choose to feed them, we ask only that they eat fruits and vegetables and they will take all the love you want to throw at them. Go right inside their gate! They are simply the sweetest farm animals, but they are animals. If you have a carrot, they will gladly bump over your toddler to get to that carrot! Act responsibly!

Mountain Magic is located in the sweet, quiet, farming town of Sugar Grove (think Valle Crucis but even more laid back), a safe space and with year-round easy access (although we have to recommend 4x4 in the winter months!)

Please set aside time to just lounge at Mountain Magic, this is where your family’s mountain memories will be made!

Wonderful

The cabin was great, but the animals are the stars of the show! They are so friendly and sweet. My daughter was really sad to leave. Who knew goats could be so endearing.

Great Self-Care Weekend

I had such a great experience at the cabin. The animals were loving and entertaining. Loved the carrots that I brought them and Sir Henry made sure I was awake with his song in the morning. I was able to spend my time reading in the sunroom or on the hammock and watching March Madness while lounging in the hot tub. The only downside was the occasional noise of a distant neighbor shooting their gun, but this only occurred a few times in the day. Overall an amazing experience that I would be happy to repeat!

Wonderful experience

This is the second time we've stayed at Mountain Magic. We had some issues with the weather, but Connie was easy to reach and helpful in helping us address the issues we'd run into (a dead car battery).The cabin was clean and my daughter adored the petting zoo and romping around in the snow. We'll definitely be back

Perfect getaway

We had the absolute best time! The animals were hilarious- we had so much fun feeding them carrots and kale. The hot tub was amazing! And the cabin was quaint and clean. If you need a break from the fast pace of everyday- this place is a little slice of relaxation heaven

The animals steal the show.

Nice, older, clean cabin. Very comfortable and within 20mins to Boone. Private setting with your own petting zoo. Our kids (and us) loved the animals. They are very docile and learn the have the routine down pat. T-Mobile reception was fine. All the supplies (except food) you need. Hint: there are more supplies under the island. Comfy furnishings and neat older antiques. reasonably close to Blowing Rock, Beech, and Sugar mtn. Hot tub was clean and offers a unique opportunity to star gaze. We had a great time during a snowy weekend.

Birthday Getaway!

I took my Fiancé here on a surprise 3 night vacation and it was absolutely amazing. Everything about the cabin was perfect and so charming and rustic. The petting zoo was such a beautiful addition and was a highlight of the stay! The hot tub was great for the cold November mornings and evenings. We will be coming back and trying out Connie’s other properties! Thank you so much for the magical experience!

Great choice!

we truly got more than we expected. It was absolutely beautiful and clean. The beds were so comfortable. I couldn’t believe how spacious the rooms were. My grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the petting zoo and the animals were super friendly,. The containment area for all the animals was kept extremely clean as well. I really can’t say enough nice things about or stay there and we look forward to going back again next year for our annual winter vacation.

Pretty Cool Place for Christmas

we had a great day at the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub. Loved the fireplace but assumed there would be some wood available that we did not have to purchase. The kitchen needs a little updating of appliances and utensils. There is no need for 50 glasses and plates. We loved feeding the animals… even loved the rooster that crowed like clockwork at 5:00 AM.Did not like that there is a neighbor where three dogs incessantly barked anytime we were outside. Overall, had a fantastic time!

Amazing cabin with pets

We all had a wonderful time at the cabin. Even our old dog loved hanging out with the farm animals. The cabin is clean , specious and close to all the attractions and restaurants. The internet was pretty stable and I was able to work from the cabin. We will definitely go back again.

Wonderful family vacation

This cabin was perfect for a week with our grown children and grandchildren! The property is amazing! Having a flat yard so the children can play was amazing, and we took full advantage of the hammocks and fire pit. We ate all our meals on the covered back porch and enjoyed the beautiful view. The highlight, of course, was The animals! We can’t wait for a return visit.

There’s some magic in that mountain cabin

Delightful, quiet retreat nestled in the woods. The whole family loved the animals. My wife and I loved the serenity. Reading a book on a hammock or sitting by a crackling fire at the fire pit, our stresses melted away! Highly recommend.

Fun place to stay

I rented this cabin for some family coming to town. It was so much fun for them to see abd feed the animals on the property. The house is so cozy and comfortable. It's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy sitting outside or in . Near Valle Crucis which has a great park. Very nice!

Wonderful Sister weekend

My sister & I had such a fun weekend at Mountain Magic ! I stayed here 2 years ago with my husband and wanted my sister to experience it . We had fun and lots of laughs feeding the cute animals . Heather the pig always brings smiles to my face . The cabin is clean and comfortable . The property is gorgeous .
