Aldous Huxley, the renown writer and frequent visitor to the trading post, actually wrote his book wrote Ends and Means here. He also built our outhouse sometime around 1937. Since there was no plumbing, Aldous took it upon himself to address that issue just to the cabin's south. The summer gardens are here for the watering and the picking. No meal is complete without lettuce, seasonal tomatoes, a few goji berries thrown into a meat or fish dish. The historic residence features a turnbuckle stretched across the ceiling with quiet window views in the creative space. Yet the opportunity beckons to herd the goats and sheep or to pull a few more weeds from the carrot patch.
Aldous Huxley’s Cabin is 500 sq ft It sleeps four people in a queen size bed and a fold out queen sofa bed. Fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, gas stove, pots and pans. The table seats four, there is a small enclosed garden area in the back.
