Enjoy all that Maine's South Coast has to offer while you stay in charming 'Salt & Light' cottage located at the beginning of the Nubble. It is just minutes from Long and Short Sands Beaches, Ellis Park gazebo concerts, playground overlooking the ocean and quaint York Beach Center & Zoo (all less than a 10 min walk). Three bedrooms include 2 with queens and one with 2 twins, all have blackout curtains. There are 1.5 bathrooms plus an outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off sandy bodies and feet.
The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a 5-burner gas range, a beverage fridge, and an air fryer oven. This home has hardwood floors throughout (except Master has a wool carpet), lots of light, wonderful ocean breezes, and is meticulously maintained.
The beautifully landscaped yard has a deck with a dining table (6 chairs) and the patio is furnished with comfortable patio furniture, there is a pop-up canopy for shade, a gas grill, and a cozy fire pit (wood can be bought at Hannaford's, Anthony's, or in the town).
Linens are provided and include bath towels, beach towels, sheets, bath mats, and dish towels.
Beach chairs and a beach buggy are provided in the gray resin shed next to the wood one in the backyard.
The house is rented on a weekly basis during the summer, (Saturday to Saturday, with a couple of exceptions, see calendar), and 3+ nights in the low season. We do not allow pets, smoking of any kind, or parties.
'Foodies' will enjoy being a 15-minute drive to the famous and delicious restaurants in Ogunquit/Perkin's Cove/Cape Neddick. Make your reservations early! York is also the headquarters of 'Stonewall Kitchen' which offers fun cooking classes, shopping, and a café.
Kids will enjoy watching saltwater taffy being made at Goldenrod's Kisses and all will enjoy delicious Maine lobster and seafood at the many area restaurants. Take a scenic walk around the Nubble and enjoy Dunne's ice cream.
Outlet shopping is 20 minutes south on Rt. 1 in Kittery and antiquing is in Cape Neddick on Route 1 North. Essex, MA, the antiquing capital of the East Coast, is also only 50 minutes away. Essex is also the home of 'Woodman's' where the fried clam was created. They are the best and gluten-free.
Drive up scenic Rt. 1A to view Maine's majestic coast, tour historic Portsmouth, NH, take a day trip to Boston, feed animals at York's Wild Animal Kingdom, take an early morning run along Long Sands Beach, enjoy an evening concert at the Ellis Park Gazebo, attend a play at the Ogunquit Play House, walk along York Harbor's Cliff Walk or Ogunquit's Marginal Way or relax on the beach or in the back yard - Salt & Light provides the perfect vacation for your family & friends.
