We had a great stay! Nicole did a great job of getting all the info to me ahead of time. The house was very clean and came with a lot of fun things to do. I would definitely recommend this house!!
Nichole's place is a beautifully renovated house in an up-and-coming neighborhood. I was very impressed with how comfortable everything is and the attention to cleanliness. The backyard was huge, and we looked forward to spending time in it. Unfortunately, it rained the whole weekend. Nichole was very accommodating and kind enough to let us check in early, which we appreciated. We will stay again if we are in Dallas.

Disliked: Location
Beautiful home, sketchy neighborhood
We loved the home, yet found aspects of the neighborhood sketchy. The first night we heard police sirens throughout the night and a neighbor played loud music at 5am. The next night was better. The third night a neighbor had a party and played loud music from 6pm- 4am. The owner said this was not normal for the area. Perhaps it was because we stayed over Christmas. The description lists a king bed and two queens, but they all appeared to be queen beds. The owner was helpful and communicative. The neighborhood seems to be in transition and may improve over time. We liked being close to White Rock Lake and downtown.
Our whole family (six adults/two kids) stayed here for a wedding weekend. We enjoyed the bright kitchen and communal spaces. The host was kind, responsive, and helpful.
Nichol was an amazing host! We had direct communication with her at all times, she was very quick in addressing all of our questions and concerns. This property is truly breathtaking, extremely gorgeous and spacious!!! This property accommodated all of my guest(10+) comfortably. You will not regret booking.
We came in this weekend to visit friends and go to the State Fair. We were only 7minutes away, so location is great. The house is beautiful and very clean. My only complaint was parking. Although we can park in the back, the alley was very tight, we have a suburban, so it made it difficult for a big vehicle. That was more on us than the property.
Beautifully renovated, spacious home which accommodated 7 adults quite well as we celebrated our daughter’s engagement festivities during our extended weekend stay. We were hosting a brunch at the house during one of the days and Nicole, although out of town, was very accommodating with making sure our kitchen and seating needs were met. She assured we received/had plenty of towels, sheets, tp, paper towels, trash bags, knives, coffee pot, toaster, and vacuum cleaner for use during our 5 day stay. We also had access to numerous outdoor tables/chairs and a bonus sectional sofa housed in the garage for our gathering. The home is well taken care of, the beds were comfortable, bathrooms were awesome, had great a/c, all windows had privacy blinds, and upon our request Nicole even assured the high grass in the backyard was cut prior to our brunch gathering. We all enjoyed our stay in this home away from home and even our guests complimented the spaciousness and beauty of this great home.
Nicole’s home provided privacy and comfort for our family and would be a great choice for yours too!
When you book a stay at a short-term rental, you hope for a turnkey experience where you don’t need to contact the host very much. Instead, our stay was fraught with issues.
In the end I feel like I was met with excuses and made to be the problem, which only made for a more frustrating experience.
The biggest problem I have is that this property was listed as having a hot tub (a pretty major amenity) but when we arrived it did not have one (but the listing still showed it as having one). When I asked about this, I was told sorry but it was an error on the listing on the part of VRBO— why then did nobody mention this to us in the time between when I booked and when we showed up? When I brought this up I was offered a night’s stay in refund but then short-changed on the amount.
Here are some other issues we encountered: the hot water was turned down so low we thought it was broken as lukewarm showers were all we could get, there were no mugs with the dishware (some were brought to the house for us when we asked, but we shouldn’t have had to ask), the private parking at the back (listed as a feature of the house, due to the sketchy neighborhood) was unexpectedly locked off with a padlock we didn’t have keys to, when the property manager came by to check the water he left the door unlocked when he left, probably because the whole door lock system was malfunctioning.
Other guests should be prepared to encounter issues and be made to sound like a problem for having them.
The house was nice and clean. We loved the idea to have had the option to park in the enclosed garage, but if you have a large vehicle, I don't recommend it. The ally is very narrow. We loved the privacy of the gated backyard. We wish there were blinds by the kitchen sink window and two long narrow windows on the kitchen's back wall. At night it was a little creepy because you could see the neighbor's window, which also does not have a blind (good thing the kitchen wasn't an open floor plan and is somewhat closed off from the main living area). The kitchen does have great utensils and cookware except for the frying pot (I wish that were nonstick) and that there was oven-safe bakeware. I cook a lot, and the kitchen has the bare minimum (so bring your stuff, lol this adds a lot of stress to pack and would be an inconvenience to travelers, a well-equipped kitchen would be ideal). The fridge does not have an ice maker (FYI to any future renters), and the soap within the bathrooms is very tiny ( bring your soap); only two towels are in the bathrooms (bring your own - if you have a large family); the bathrooms are beautiful! I wish there were bathroom mats for the floor - we only and one tiny lil towel floor mat...#pointless... (I'm not too fond of cold floors). My two cents of nit-picking are my personal preferences, so if you don't care for all that. The home is beautiful (the neighborhood, not so much), and our family enjoyed our stay. Would we stay there again....🤷🏽♀️
Thank you, 🙂
We booked a one month stay here as part of our relocation to Texas (prior to finding permanent accommodation) and ended up leaving after five days due to safety concerns.
The location is "transitioning" at best. You would not want to be walking alone at night around there. There were homeless people hanging out on the front yard, the neighbor's dog would be waiting on our front steps (off-leash) every morning snarling at me and my family, and from a practical perspective the property is not situated close to any of the desirable places in town.
Secondly, this property is clearly used for parties. There were party remains all over the lawn. In addition, there was mouse droppings inside the house, moldy food in the cupboard, gum on the bed and hair clogging the drains.
The host is nice when you check in, but will not respond if you bring up any issues. Her response to the neighbor's dog chasing my family down the street was for us to call animal control on her neighbor (which was not only inappropriate but we were not comfortable doing). She would also not respond to basic things like "how do you open the gate so that we can take our your overflowing trash cans".
We asked the host if we could pay for 2 weeks and be reimbursed for the other 2 (ie. pay for 14 days despite only staying 5). She said she no, "I have a business to run". In the end I chose my family's safety but ended up loosing a significant amount of money from this and put them through significant stress.
